Man, some of this art is really good. I especially like that slig you did inside sitting at the table. You seem pretty decent with perspetive and figure drawing, i tend to struggle getting around that. Do you use pictures as a guide or just keep drawing until you get the pose right so it doesn't look wierd?

yes i feel the same about this... it's a shame they didn#t bring out SligStorm, in my opinion it would have been the most interresting game since it shows that you can#t seperate everything into black and white so easily. :

I only use references till i have figured out how something looks like then I don't use references anymore, but i draw a lot of sketches ... the pose or a certain idea is already in my mind before i start sketching ...so yeah I keep on drawing till the pose looks right . ^-^ my first slig sketches were horrible but i never uploaded them anywhere xD i used images from TOGG the first times ...the mechanical legs were the easiest to memorize but i had trouble with the proportions a Sligs head is as huge as the whole rest of his body -i always have problems with that xD when i draw i always keep the anatomy the skeleton and the muscles in my mind that way i know which poses are possible and which would look wrong... .. ok here is a minor character from my comic.... she belongs to the Shangria, who are a subspecies of Sligs they are also related to my other species the Scrig, that explains their Scrab-like legs and the spikes on their head etc... I like the 'shoes', and the eyes are really cool, really freaky :D She just looks awesome; I'd love to hear her story! The face tentacles remind me a lot of S'laskia's drakkics (that isn't a bad thing - I loves hearing their stories too). Sci, you are brilliant at this :p You have such... imagination.

If you go through the 'useful fancorner links' thread, you'll find the FC library. All of the stories she posted on OWF are linked there, I think.
I just wish I could read the ones she didn't post of OWF :( The web has been a sadder place since her site went down. (Man, now I'm gonna get even more nostalgic and even less motivated to work on TD! :p) The thing about her having a narrow waist, even if its more narrow than you intended, is that it kind of mimics the narrow sligs' tail. (see, now you've pointed it out I'm an expert on the subject!) I think, with my aforementioned professional opinion, that making her bust smaller might make it look better. But as I say, I'm no expert. |

whoa 8D almost all her stories are here?... 8D ahahha when I have time again i have to start reading them ASAP!!! :D ... well the web has always been like that, people come and go aswell as stories, but the great ones will be remembered. ok whatever I worked on the digital picture since i mentioned it here yesterday.... i drew a long time till my eyes started hurting and the next day i continued drawing, i didn#t have so much fun drawing a picture since ...sicne... November? This drawing is special to me, i can#t really explain it and i doubt anyone is reading this anyway lol xD. and I think it#s my best digital work so far... it's actually one of the rare drawings that are completely digital. If someone would steal this idea it would break a little part in my heart... i put a few watermarks in the drawing becasue it would also annoy me if someone would steal the picture itself... sorry ^^; The Shangria are living in Jungle areas with mountains and plateaus and canyons... maybe sometime I'll make a little sketch just to show how i imagine it... they are smaller and lighter than Sligs. and some tribes are quite advanced with "flying machines" because some villages are built on plateaus where is a lot of wind... so they use the natural thermal lift there if you look at this map http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...dworld_map.JPG the place where they live would be on the oher side of the globe... so you actually can not see it on this map xD ok i write waaay too much xD enjoy the picture ^-^ I'm sad... i had to resize it ; ___ ; because it was really huge... |

I love those eyes; it's brilliant how you make them so weird and yet so... emotional. I like the bony face tentacles, and noticed the miss-matched fingers :D
I like the contrasts in it, the really native stuff, not taken as far as some OWF art did, matched with the more 'industrial' arm guard and apparently metal staff, as well as the metal hook on her top. It's good :happy:. Despite freaky eyes, freaky face and freaky hands, she looks pretty. You might run away when you first run into her, and you wouldn't expect her to speak any language understandable to anyone who lives outside of her tribe, but there are people you would feel more nervous to be held prisoner by. |

Again, looks good in an 'imagine what this could be' kind of way. I like the angle of that first picture, and the slow reveal of the character, looks like a normal slig, then we see the freaky eye and then the scar...

Sorry, i dont want to mouth you off or something, but Oddworld isnt something from Anime or something. That "female" Sligs and female Mudokons dont exist, but thats not the worst part. The worst part is that all those fanfics tell of Sligs and such WITH ROMANCE AND FEELINGS. SLIGS! Thats not Oddworld at all. If a Slig would say "i love you" to another Slig, then the other Slig would shoot him and laugh at him saying: "Ur gay!" . I finally said it to you. But if you not look at all the girly stuff you make, your art is pretty good ;) .

Then about the "female Slig" you talked about, it is NOT a Slig. she's a fanspecies called Shangria that I created for my own fanfiction, you would have known that if you had read the text under the drawings. Shangria are similar to Grubbs (so there are no Queens, there are males and females) and if you had looked closely at the drawing you would have remarked that she's quite a little different from Sligs, shangria have legs and only 3 face tentacles, their eyes are composed but not the way Sligs eyes are, Shangria are taller and have tails. Their skin is smooth and a tiny tiny little bit shiny. And if you are complaining about her boobs, Grubbs and Clakkers have boobs too. if you talk about the drawings of Dionysia or Anni, they are not my characters but the explaination of why they exist are reasonable. Read the story before you complain. [EDIT] Cylepso and Zoe are not my characters either. [/EDIT] if you talk about my female Mudokon Seven, Seven is a young Mudokon Queen. if you talk about Katu, she's a Mutant, a carnivore, who has not to do so much with normal Mudokons at all... if you talk about the female Mudokon in my fanfiction, she's a queen too but it isn't even clear yet what she actually is. Perhaps she only exists in the dreams of 01 and 02. If you talk about that blue femal Shrykull, it is the result of a weird conversation with OddYouko, at her own art thread, it was rather a joke and not even an OC. Of course female Mudokons appear often in OW fanfictions, thats simply because they are special/ not normal/ unusual, therefore interresting. If there were only females in Oddworld, then most of the fans would write about a male character. oh and about what you've said earlier ... ...i don't think that Slig you talked about would say that the other one is gay, because both of them don't even know what that means, since they are just worker class Sligs and therefore lack certain organs, and so they can't develop such feelings so you can make the conclusion that the term love is used in a differnt way, which would mean that it isn't gay in the first place. Sorry, i dont want to mouth you off or something, but complaining about people that I don't even know on my art thread is irritating. I might be a fangirl, and like animé and manga aswell, but I'm not one of those hardcore animé fans that you talked about. |

I stopped reading Shrown partway though, I think GlacierDragon decided to cancel it so I stopped checking the thread. I guess she changed her mind :p I might have another look. Drawing is confusing, but I guess it is just a concept. I love the 'surprised you came' picture, and the expression on the girl's face. I'd love to know what was going on there, and what the relationship is between the girl and the... robot? Why did she not expect it to come? Why is she lying in a puddle? :p Like so many of your pictures you present so many mysteries that I'd love to understand a little better. I think her elbows look a bit... sharp, just odd is some way. Maybe her arms are a little too straight. But other than that it's really good; I really love it. It's going to stay open in a tab for ages now, and I'm going to bring it to the front and look at it every time I stop to think. She doesn't look quite as good in the waterfall picture, but the scenery is great and so are the four-winged birds :p I wanna like... swallow your imagination or something. No idea what the shrimp is but it's a very good picture nonetheless. I'm totally still following this thread! I love your art! It's a nice moody picture, though a bit messy, yeah. The pants are interesting; they kind of remind me a bit of Sl'askia's character, Spider.
The facts are good; interesting to get to know this character a bit better. Makes me wonder if the Seven he knows is the mudokon girl, Seven. Also inspires me to write facts about some of my own characters :p |

I think you have to choose a character for me.
I put together a document containing all of Sl'askia's stories from OWF; sadly some others were lost a few years ago when her site disappeared and I've been led to believe that she's refused to let anyone see them if they ask her personally. The writing is newbish, but the characters make up for any lack in plot or writing; she was great at characters :p It's a shame so much of her stuff was lost :( |

I think if her back leg was further back it would have made it look more... dynamic. And his face is slightly messed up. But otherwise it's good. I really like the way her feather trails back, and the spear is cool, and so is his leg. Apparently she has some reason for wanting him dead, or at the very least immobile :p
