Great sketch. I espeacialy like the the rats.

But I saw one little mistake of mine which I noticed yesterday. Usually, cartoons don't light up the lines of their characters when they put the shadows/light effect on them. So the lines have to be a single layer and the colors another one. Use the light/shadow effect on the coloring layer then!

I'll remember that next time I color a picture with PS. I'm not going to use lighting effects on this project, so you weren't late with saying that. The picture's looking a lot better with the stronger outlines, that was my main interest the learn.

I remember that story. The way I remember, he led the rats through a river, because he could cross, but the rats couldn't... I mean, not without drowning. You captured the rats' posture quite well. They look natural and real because of that

Sorry for double-post....
______

I made a comic again.
It's about me and my first meeting with Jack Sparrow in Disneyland. Don't worry, it's not really a true story...

My favorite scene (in POTC1) was the moment when Jack Sparrow in Tortuga got slapped by the many women with which he surely has carried on with and has cheated on them as well, I guess.

Oh, and concerning the fifth picture: I really look weird like this when I'm excited...

Creepy Doc 04-29-2007 03:16 PM

Heh, pretty funny. I like these expressions of yours. :D

Matriar 04-30-2007 01:50 AM

Thank you! :)

I made something what looks like a movie poster about my story.
It's a dream of mine what probably won't come true. :)

Creepy Doc 04-30-2007 01:58 PM

Heh, it really looks like a movie poster. Great work!

Matriar 05-01-2007 02:53 AM

I found a quite old photo which had a bad looking quality. So I tried out some filters of Photoshop to make it look better. Accidentally, it came out like this.
But I like it that way.

It's our little park near home. It can be kinda creepy when it's night and everything is silent.

dripik 05-01-2007 09:03 AM

What a fun way to greet someone. "Hi! *slap*"
Now seriously, I liked that comic, frame 9 was hilarious.

And that photo you modded, it looks a bit like an oil painting to me. It gave an interesting touch to the picture.

dripik_12 05-02-2007 08:16 AM

Awesome pictures Judith!:) I like the "Life of a Heartless" the most! keep up the GREAT work!:D

(o_O Cool signature, dripik!)

Will try to show more pictures soon but currently, I'm just too busy with other things and stuff. :(

Creepy Doc 05-06-2007 01:45 AM

Oh, no problem. I can('t) wait to see it! :p

Matriar 05-07-2007 01:28 AM

Sometimes I'm bored. Nah, that's not right, I'm often bored. But sometimes I'm bored and draw pictures about weird-lookin' and crazy creatures.

So that's what it looks like when I draw stuff like this:

dripik 05-07-2007 07:36 AM

I liked the twins the most. I didn't realise the difference between them until I saw Henry's (sp?) expression.

How much time did it take to fill the paper with all these characters? I usually need 2 days to do so.

(EDIT: Thanks Eni!)

I don't know how I could come up with this idea of these guys. Well, it was at dead of night and I got a weird, funny mood.
Thanks for your comment! Much appreciated. :)

(What does "sp" mean?)

Oh, not that long. It was a quick doodle. Maybe, at most, three-quarters of an hour, I think.

People (or at least I) use 'sp?' when I'm not sure how do you spell a word. In this case, I couldn't read if it was Henry or Herry.

Three-quarters? It's quite good, even if it's just doodling, and not a planned-and-prepared drawing.

It's Henry. Excuse my bad handwriting...

It's more like sketches for me anyway. Real drawings of mine took longer of course. :)
And these ones doesn't have perspectives which are hard to draw too...

moxco 05-07-2007 11:54 AM

My favourite is the little dude with a '?!' above his head.

Creepy Doc 05-08-2007 12:15 AM

Your sketches are interesting, even they're born outta boredom.
Seems that this cat went mad because he noticed that he got a tail. Kinda funny, though. :)

Matriar 05-10-2007 08:44 AM

Thank you very much for your kind comments, guys! :)

Some surreal stuff.

"Need some medicine..."

http://oddworldforums.net/attachment...1&d=1178815737

I think, music feels like this sometimes. You may think that the blood is a quite macabre Idea.
Well, I really thought long about the color of this liquid in the bottle and came up with the idea to make it look like blood to be given when you feel like you lost too much of yours, what makes you feel very tired and dying...

Say what you want, I like it.

Left: this Size
Right: original Size (and a few more shading around the frame)

Creepy Doc 05-10-2007 09:22 AM

Hey, surreal art! That's cool. Nice picture, I don't think it's macabre. But don't ask me, I'm creepy anyway...

Matriar 05-11-2007 03:39 AM

No problem... I'm creepy too 'cause I like this stuff. :D

Thank you!

Jordan 05-11-2007 10:40 AM

Aha! That pic is funny! Awesome drawing SM! :D
Oh my god, can you believe it, 2000 posts!

dripik 05-11-2007 11:05 AM

I really like that picture. It has a calming atmosphere about it. And you're right about the music, it's almost like a regenerating element of life.

Something like "No problem" or "Don't mention it".

As to remain on topic, I just noticed the outside weather in the window. The rain looks realistic, with being a bit blurred.

Matriar 05-12-2007 03:07 AM

Why thank you. :)

I hoped that it looks like rain. I'm not that practiced...

Creepy Doc 05-12-2007 06:43 AM

For me, it kinda looked like a blizzard...

Matriar 05-21-2007 10:53 AM

Currently, I work for the colored version of "Chinese Dragon". The background and the head of the dragon is finished, now I "only" have to do his legs and the scales. The scales are almost finished.
Man, the sketch will be nothing against the colored version. :D

I'll show it when it's completely finished.

I the meantime, enjoy another quick doodle out of boredom I drew today.
