edit: actually scratch that reply which basically just reiterates posts you've already ignored.
you're right, i'm just creating a problem from nothing and AO and everything canonically oddworld is totally perfect. (ESPECIALLY the music- you better not be thinking of changing it or anything jaw!!) |
Abe will be chanting from the very start, guaranteed.
|
:
The storyline will improve a lot if Abe actually learn to chant in the mosaic lines. |
Get rid of those twats with slingshots. Doesn't really make sense that the peaceful natives are all trying to kill him.
|
I think they're just confirming that he's not an imposter.
|
It's almost as though they're trying to defend their holy bastion of ancient culture from some kind of threat that involves Mudokons working for industrial forces.

|
Theres nothing that pissed me off more than running through the lines and without warning, a native pops out of nowhere and slingshots me to death!

This isn't really a game idea as such but I was thinking it would be cool to have some Pre-order bonuses? Maybe a Oddworld TF2 Hat for a Steam exclusive or maybe a nice, shiny box for the game :)
|
There'll be plenty of time to think about that in the run up to launch.
|
:
He must have deleted it, (or never made it at all and my brain needs sleep) |
I do like that idea. And if that is done, I vote for a genuine version of Chris' Soulstorm bottle. Though that may have to wait for AE HD. Original Slig visor for the Demo :D
|
:
Also My re-skin for the Demo's Bottle could be a step in the right direction. I was thinking of a actual Soulstorm bottle that replaces the Mad Milk. (You throw it at people) But my re-skin is just...well a re-skin. It would have to be a new model Also, I was thinking more of the Scout having Abe's hair and stitches? (Now I wish I could actually make 3D models...) |
Paramonian Nests in HD would look pretty cool I think.

You cannot understand what Connell said? It's pretty clear to me

Obviously not or I wouldn't be asking.

Maybe even a map? Rupture farms could work as a map. |
:
|
Is that before or after everything was deleted? :tard:
|
Yeah that's hilarious. I posted that comment this morning and straight afterwards I worked on my map. Then I got an error which deleted every entity.
On the plus side the layout of the map (The Blocks) remains so it's not as bad as literally the whole map being deleted. All I have to do is redo the lighting, props, doors, decals, triggers, capture point, spawns... :crying: |
Sorry man, I know that's really shitty. I just thought the post was ironic :D. We still want to see it though!
|
This is why I keep weekly backups... Or more often if I'm actively working on something.

Hmm, well with all of the things that have been mentioned here, it's hard to come up with an idea that hasn't been mentioned before, but I'll try my best.
The prospect of an Abe's Exoddus HD has come up numerous times. However, in my mind, Abe's Exoddus was always Abe's Oddysee part 2, given its place in the Quintology. So my question is IF an AE HD (or AO HD Ep2 or whatever kids want to call it nowadays) was to be made, would it be possible to have additional content or some form of lock-on that can be obtained by owning both games? Not necessarily huge changes or new areas, but rather optional additions to spice things up or add a little extra nostalgia. Possibly make it that when the last cutscene of AO ends it goes straight into the beginning of AE with no pause, no loading, perfectly streamlined. Another possibility is that maybe having the other game could expand your gamespeak vocabulary (admittedly that doesn't do much for AE, just the whistles and laugh primarily), but for Oddysee it might make the game a little too easy I guess what with the addition of All A' Ya and Work. I guess anoter nifty thing would be if, by chance, you managed to make it to the Board Room and live, WITHOUT either pulling the lever before being killed or blowing the board to pieces with the Shrykull, you could possess the Glukkons just as a little Easter Egg. Finally, I guess additional material seperate to the main game would be rather interesting. Not sure what to suggest, but multiplayer (beyond what was already in AO and AE) is definitely a no. Something like additional modes or mini-games where you play as the Industrialists for a while, not necessarily through the whole game but just something. For example, a day in the life of a Magog Cartel Big Cheese, see what Molluck does on a day to day basis... okay, reading back through that it sounds very Munch's Oddysee E3 trailer-ish. XD Yeah, those are the only real ideas I can come up with that other people haven't suggested, and I don't really want to reiterate what most people have already said about the atmosphere, music or slig bantering. Maybe a level editor to make your own temple trials or Zulags, but nothing else really springs to mind. |

Hehe, could totally convert one of the inaccessible doors in the secret areas into one, I can actually picture it. Brilliant idea. *nods in approval*
EDIT: Hmm, another cool idea would be if when you're returning to the Stockyards and RuptureFarms the Sligs have the Exoddus visors (I know, bringing THAT back up again, but hear me out on this)... the Exoddus manual explained that their visors were changed due to ineffective and unsuccessful patrolling by Sligs, as well as causing them to go cross-eyed, so with the increase in security it would be a nifty thing to add in perhaps? Though if the visors are subject to change, this suggestion is kind of mute. ^^; |
That would be awesome. I have seen the feeco train in the new n tasty screenshots...
|
Glitch said that it picks a mask randomly on spawn.
Developers don't say this stuff because it's subject to change and when things change people complain, but I can! Just don't talk to Glitch about it. |
I was leaving it to you to say that in case we weren't supposed to. Yay for cowardice!
|
:
But it's waay to early to think about it. They need to finish New 'N' Tasty and see how it does! |
I whish they could change the chanting/possession animation, the one in the original AO was better.
I was hoping they would use some light effects when abe chant (making the light rotate) and keep the slig exploding. |
:
|
I can't exactly tell from the footage, does AONnT retain the grid-style movement?
|
I think it's probably is. I haven't seen Abe making any 'half-steps' or anything
|
I don't think it does. Abe and the slig he possesses seem to adjust their positions slightly when pulling levers/activating the lift.
|
:
same applies for the gibs and animations. (Although I think the animations are amazing so far) |
