Hear ye, hear ye. Mountain Station can now be reached via the South Line, direct from Ma'Spa Depot.
While looking for buckets, I discovered I had a hoard of clay at Ma'Spa. All the walls and ceilings and floors in the tunnel under the cathedral are finished, but ten lengths of the tunnel still need stair-corners. (10 lengths, each 10 blocks long, times 4 corners, means 400 stairs, means 600 brick blocks, though my attempts at Minecraft maths are always shaky at best). So if anyone has any clay they don't need...? Wil, the ceiling of the tunnel contains a line of lava for lighting. Having explicitly pointed this out, I am now absolved of liability should you fall into it while digging a crypt. I've already heard one creeper burning to death in the stretch where it passes through a cavern. Also, I may have 'borrowed' four buckets from Nikki's Genesis cottage... |
I'll go harvest more clay for you later today if you like.
|
I have a couple of stacks to give you. I don't really use Clay.
|
Wil, I was passing your house on the mountain above the cathedral and discovered a creeper hole in the wall by the door.
|
So it turns out the Temple of time is a LOT bigger then I though. So I need to build more land.
I need dirt. and lots of it. |

Splat, I gathered enough clay (and drowned once 'cause of the bloody glitch where the bucket only removes water from the floor and not above the player, and I couldn't type /gamemode in time, but somehow managed to recover my stuff by looking at the coordinates before I respawned) and finished your tunnel. There's a stack and a bit left over... I smelted it, you can find it spread throughout the furnaces.
|
Dangit, I can't pos-rep you.
Thanks! |
E: I'm very tipsy, my judgement isn't the best ATM. I made a crap joke about rep. Forget I posted this.

Now I'm back from holiday, I shall remind people that the Stronghold raid will be taking place on Friday the 1st of June, starting at 9PM GMT BST. Hmm, I may need a bigger clock. Unless that time comes and not many people turn up.
We will meet at the Longhouse of the Dragon Slayers or whatever that thing is called, and I'm thinking I might try and make either a train line or a path or at least a signpost leading there some time prior to the event, since I only found it by dumb luck myself. And on that topic, I'd like to reiterate a question I previously asked Havoc, which is... Havoc, your lighthouse is pretty much perfectly in line with Ma'Spa Depot, and it'll be no trouble at all to build a station there once I begin work on the West Line. Do you actually want me to not do this? Do you want to keep the lighthouse far away from any transport routes? Would it bother you if I gave it a station? EDIT: Oh, and while we're here, Dripik, are you still ok to work on Exoddus Station? I'm not in a hurry or anything and am aware that Minecraft may not be your top priority right now; just checking you're still happy. And there will soon(ish) be lines in place to Nikki's house and Dripik's desert village. These will have small stations which might be nice if they match the local architecture. I'm happy to have a go myself, but I thought I'd give you guys the option of building your own stations first (I say this in the knowledge that Nikki hasn't been on the server for ages, and I'm already asking a lot of Dripik at Exoddus). And finally, Ma'Spa Depot's storage chests are now full of cobblestone (as are the 'temporary' chests in Cathedral Station and in the tunnel under the cathedral), and I'm going to start trashing it soon. You haul it, it's yours, but please leave about a chestful for me. |
Well okay you can run the tracks trough the base of the lighthouse and put the station in there, I wasn't sure what to do with all that empty space anyway.
|
Been trying to log in all morning but the Minecraft servers are down. *pout*

Yet again. :(
EDIT: Well Minecraft.net sorted it's self out so I took some pictures of my progress with The Temple of Time. http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/5...0519153318.png http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2...0519153341.png It's so far going well :) Also thanks Edd for fixing my door. :tard: |
Crash, is the following Friday better for you? Is said Friday worse for anyone else?
EDIT: Also, someone has, since yesterday, stolen a stretch of track between The End Station towards Cathedral Station. |
Ah. Whoops. That may have been me - I built a retractable bridge to replace the one that was demolished between the enderman and the cathedral - Guess some water leaked into the tunnel, washed away the track, then I sealed the hole, didn't notice, and the track despawned.
At least the mystery is solved though. It's fixed now. But yeah you can now walk between the enderman and the cathedral without having to wade, just be sure the retract the bridge after you cross. Also Crashpunk your temple looks good. |
Oh, you're actually building the track underwater, Splat? Nice, I thought you would go above the water. I approve :p

But... 'yet again'?
In other news, I have begun construction of an underwater tunnel between Ma'Spa and Havoc's lighthouse/the stronghold. I need tons of sand. Thanks Wil! Also, 8 stacks of the dirt currently in the tunnel came from Havoc's tower and will be returned as soon as possible have been returned. Edd, thanks for your advice about method; it's made it much easier than it otherwise would have been. Not sure whether to fill in the floor with stone or glass... |
Sorry for double-post.
Ma'Spa West Line now reaches Lighthouse Station. Supports without tracks (yet) reach Outpost Station. Supports nearly reach the Longhouse of the Dragonslayers. Need to build a station there. Also, need more iron. Dripik and I (mostly dripik) have built a tunnel down to the stronghold but haven't entered yet. The stronghold should remain sealed until our raid day, unless we arrange a date to search the stronghold first. Theoretically, it might be worth getting the loot there and taking care of the silverfish spawner before we head into the End. Thoughts? |
What's the policy on harvesting cracked and mossy stone bricks?
|
Do it after the raid, test every block by punching it with a fist first (silverfish blocks crumble like dirt, so you can quickly tell if a block is safe)... As for how many, I guess let's see how big the stronghold is first.
It might be worth people taking a chest and sign down too, so they can store spoils from the stronghold before venturing into the End. |
Given the rarity of the stronghold, maybe we should mine the interesting blocks as a group effort and apportion them between whoever wants them. I know we have the bank, but me and Nikki were disappointed when we got to the old stronghold to see nothing of interest.
|
It's depending on how big the strongehold is really. I don't mind having 20-30 blocks. But if it's big enough, maybe a stack each?
|
That sounds like a good idea. See, why didn't you suggest that in the first place?
|
As a group effort, we could swap out the cracked and mossy blocks with ordinary stone bricks. That way we get to preserve the stronghold in some fashion - Although it may not be worth it considering strongholds spawn in every world now, and who's going to go back there after we finish with the ender dragon?
|
You never know - someone might get the idea and turn that place into an underground science facility...
|
I thought of that once, then I actually saw one and saw how it intersected a cavern every 15 metres. Plus, do you really want silverfish eating your underground lair?
|
They can be your lab rats.
|
:
I meant all this AFTER we clear it of the silverfish and collecting all the blocks we want from there. |
Are you going to recreate Black Mesa? Including zombies? Awesome idea.
|
Server has been updated to Craftbukkit 1.2.5-R2.0. |

Silverfish come out of special stone brick/smooth stone/cobble silverfish blocks. When attacked, silverfish call other nearby silverfish to come out of their blocks. When no player is within a short distance, silverfish enter normal stone brick/smooth stone/cobble blocks, converting them to silverfish blocks, and effectively destroying - or leading to the destruction of - the new blocks.
Crushing them with gravel/sand, explosions from TNT and creepers and setting them on fire stop them calling other silverfish. Explosions are the only way to destroy a silverfish block without summoning its inhabitant. Also, they can't be found in mossy or cracked stone blocks, but they can re-enter these blocks, converting them to the appearance of normal stone brick blocks. Pest control will be... difficult, I fear. I've done my homework! :p |
I used to make these really cool water fountains... Wait wrong thread.
Although it would be good in server with permission of course. |
Do you know what people get when they keep asking for something?
|
No.
|
Holy shit, I posted in the past. That's awesome.
