I thought that was down to pollution? The sky colour changed in the Stockyards because the further away you get from Rupture Farms, the less noxious fumes are getting poured straight up into the air. The concentration of pollutants decreases, as it were.

Interesting, I never thought of it like that! It definitely seems to get darker though, even when you reach the deep blue skies. With pollution I'd expect nasty clouds and fumes, not bright green fog as such- like how it's shown in the opening cutscene, with massive black clouds over RF- especially considering it's night when you escape!

I always assumed it was just a weird alien sunset poking through the smog, slowly getting dark :)

Also if you splice those images together without the border lines, with them zoomed out, it's easy to see the rainbow. It's not really something you notice when you play the game screen by screen - It really amazed me when I tried splicing those screens together (before I found the image STM posted). I hope this is retained in the new version.

Seeing everything together it does seem likely they're pollution clouds. Definitely too bright, but to change the brightness would mean changing the colour scheme- and that's why I love this level in the first place!

Maybe adding some more lights in the background would add to the light pollution vibe you mentioned? Nothing too bright, maybe some searchlights scanning the ground in the distance?

Also, in those screens, you really notice how flat everything is! The cages are all in one line. With depth added in Abe HD, it would be awesome to see hundreds of scrab and paramite cages going off into the distance as far as you can see, with searchlights showing brief glimpses of creatures inside.

Add in constant screeches and noises from the animals, getting louder when they are illuminated, and it could make the stockyards section seem a lot more believable. Maybe add some other creature cameos too like elum or meep, or the mysterious massive outline/silhouette of a creature we haven't seen before right in the distance :D

After 10mins of studying that screenshot wondering 'where the hell are these penis pipes?!' I think I finally found them. I guess all that searching wasn't in vein...

I assume he meant those two huge barrel pipes sticking out of either side of the doorway. Those are the only things in the entire screenshot that look even vaguely phallic.

Seems that Nate is a regular William Tapley.

Abe's oddyseey was and still is my favorite game so, please, don't destroy the atmosphere and remember Abe is blue because he is supposed to be sad(don't make it cartoony like munch).
Always keep in mind the spectacular melancholic sceneries are half of the appeal.

Keep in mind the majority of characters are archetypal existing classes in the real world so don't destroy the arketype personalizing them too much like making, for exemple, an intelligent slig or a glukkon with sense of remorse.
Those lone exceptions can exist but they deserve to be kept as the main characters for a future oddworld game.

Then here is my suggestions:

1. Characters behave and comment in different ways if thy are in big groups(3n.p.c.); for exemple sligs can become more violent and start hitting mudokons while laughing.

2. Guardian angel is in the game and try to convince mudokons the singhing power dosen't exist.

3. A new class of mudokon sikness: if thy have been moralized by the shrink(guardian angel) they will try to hit Abe and escape if he sing while screaming "i saw nothing!""It can't be!" while covering their ears.

4. Mudokon that give you powers (rings) must be shamans(i remember wasting time trying to save them).

5. Shrykull is bigger than Abe and you can walk in thet form before using the power.

6. If sligs see you in shrykull form they will escape screaming "it can't exist for real!".

7. Add a lot of rust and leaks near water tubes and grafitti to make the place more real.

8. Trapped scrabs and paramiti will kill the sligs first if thy are freed from their prison.

9. Some kind of worthy reward for not using quiksave.

10. Add Sloggies

11. I know it's a remake but surprise us with a new original little area near the end of the game(maybe the guardian angel one).

12. Don't hint at secret levels like in AE (i don't want the game to be easier)

13. Chant suppressor should move crossing screens following Abe.

14. on the stockyards clouds cast shadows and affect the gameplay.

15. amputated mudokon can't pull leves or run fast

16. change whistle with actual notes (at least 3) and make the player recompse simple melodies, bells locks should follow those melodies and not automatically reproduce the score.

15. advertising billboard with OE brew and MO products

16. In really hard levels Abe will comment with "oh my god!!" or "not this again"

17. bats can be scared of with explosion or sligs gunshots

18. sligs will lose their mechanical pants if they fall,get hit or are scared(by abe singhing or shrikull)

19. bats must come out of the graund and fly to the sky, you can't make the same bat follow the same geometrical trajectory forever (use a mine instead)

20. paramity will descend from the cealing and grab abe whith their tentacles without touching ground.

21. scrabs will follow some more complex ritual before attacking each other.

22. fireflies will follow Abe and light the way

23. passing sligs will make birds fly away, Abe won't

24. if Abe is stending on the same position for too much time he will start meditating,whistle or sitting (the same for his mudokon companion)

25. if Abe is close to an explosion will take more time for him to stand up again

26. please don't add cute creatures to the game

27. sitting and meditate(like mudokons on mosaic lines) make you resist 1 hit no matter how strong while in that position (then you fall and probably get killed the same way)

28. rings will make all machinary like meat grinder stop for an istant and orbs(chant suppressors) will fall to the ground

29. make some native mudokons ask philosophical questions and riddles instead of whistle

30. always thought oddworld miss some sort of carnivorous plant (i would like to see Abe possess moving plants)

31. rings will paralize sligs pants

32. bat portals instead of bird ones in some dark zones (bird don't fly at night)

33. sligs must trow a bone to the slogs in order to make them frendly

34. keep the world distanced to the player (don't make blood splat on the camera, don' address directly the player in order to teach him console commands,all messages must be for Abe only)

35. Abe must keep the rhyme

36. M.O.M. news

37. Abe must not use glukkon's weapons(change the granades with something else)

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST PUT YOUR HEART IN IT!!!
