I've read a few pages of this thread (2 and a half) but I'm not patient enough to read it all, so one of my questions might be asked already... Just so ya'll know.
1. Who is Lulu? (I never played Munch's Oddysee) 2. Where did Mullock went after he got zapped in Abe's Oddysee? 3. Why can't Abe get a date? (Sorry, I just *had* to make a joke, no answer needed :D) 4. How would Scrabs react if they see a Paramite, and vice versa? (Maybe you see this in Munch's Oddysee as well, but yet again, never played it.) EDITED: Another question. 5. In some screenies of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, I see Elum in some sort of Elum Trap. Where are those things? I never saw one... And I am sure the picture was 2D! |
1. Lulu is an incompetant Glukkon who'd rather lounge about, sleep and read girly magazines than do any work. He's the butt of Glukkon jokes, because he isn't a killer in the market like they are. Abe and Munch use him to get into Vykkers Labs, but don't think he doesn't enjoy the high life and destroying the environment. He has exactly the same ideals as any other Glukkon, except he lacks work ethic and intelligence.
2. Unknown. He's been hiding from the Magog Cartel. He's in trouble because he let Abe escape and wreak havoc, plus he has to pay for the destruction of RuptureFarms. What's more, since Maggie has to pay if he doesn't show up, she's furious and will have him shot as soon as they find him. See, there's a massive search for Molluck, who's been laying low, pretending to be dead. If rumours are true, he's hiding underground (metaphorically speaking), and has links with the Oddworld Mafia. 4. They'd fight each other to the death. Obviously the Scrab would win more often than not, but the Paramite would put up one hell of a barney. We would have seen massive hoedowns in MO as herds of Scrabs and Paramites collided, but that was left out of the game. 5. Yep, that's an Elum Trap, a device RuptureFarms uses to capture Elums. They were pretty much replaced with honey. Notice in one image it shows Abe actually pushing against the Elum in a trap as he would against a wall. The picture was in 2D, because AO is a 2D game. :p |
How do you put a banner on the signiture?

In AE/AO, sometimes there are muds on the screen beyond with either bone drills or sensors hindering the path. If you tell the muds to follow you and run a few previous screens, you will not get the mud shredded/noticed if you can't see it happen? This has really ruined a lot of the harder bone drill puzzles in AE for me.
|
Why is Alcar a tightarse, and he won't give me links to pictures of the new game with no bullshit theories?

It looks awesome! I can't even see any old species in it.
I might have to start coming into General Discussion. Scary thought. Tell me, how often are new pictures released? |
well there was one BIG wave of pictures and videos and now nothing anymore
|
Yes OWI lured us in with all this huge hype of the next game and it's detail's then when we got the detail's it only left more questions!? Then they go on saying we won't get anything for several months! Damn you OWI!!
|
Aww... Well someone tell me if something happens, I'll be in Off-Topic.

*raises hand*
I got a question! How tall is a bigbro slig? I've been thinking that for a while now... |
8'6"ish, give or take, mechanical legs included.
|
I'm almost sure that this is a FAQ, but do we have any idea what Khanzumers look like? Any at all? Do they have special abilities or something? You probably won't be able to answer this, but I figured I might as well ask...
|
We currently don't know anything about khanzumerz other than that they live in the cities of Mudos, and are the main consumers of Magog Cartel products.
|
Yeah, I knew that, I was just hoping that someone knew what I didn't... but thanx!
|
My guess is that the Khanzumers will be disgustingly fat and pathetic, as if to represent what the human race has come to.
|
Maybe, i don't know why,but i think they're gonna be kinda thin, with a big kinda head, with this mustach looking thing... but I have know idea where i'd get that idea...
EDIT: I just asked Alf if Khanzumers will be in Steef's game, so hopefully we'll be able to figure that out...:fuzwink: |
i know the newscaster has a name....it was mentioned on oddworld.com somewhere a long time ago..
i know this for a fact. his name was Tentacles or Tendrls or something.... please help me! |
:
|
no it wasn't mentioned then....
twas the 2nd site design i think, it was mentioned in a news section or something... |
never saw anything like that, but it can be possible, I mean, why not
but why did OWI change his name then? |
is it impossable to posses the first slig in AO?
|
Assume the answer is yes. It's probably possible to time it so that he stops running just before he exits the scream so the sparkles can enter him as he yells for help, but since the probability of that happening is approximately 1 in a big number, I wouldn't try it unless you're as bored as I am right now.
|
I allready did it several times on the PC version

Hey Max, in another topic you mentioned that in the earlier versions of MO you were able to actually control Lulu himself, instead of doing the possession thing. Can you please explain this? How would the actual gameplay work?
|
I obviously don't know how the actual gameplay would work, since I was never privy to OWI's every thought and idea on MO, only what the Designer Diaries say. That said, one of the level "scripts" Paul O'Connor describes (there's a word he uses, not scripts, it'll come to me at an awkward moment, trust me) is for the FlubCo Fat Fuels Facility, where after sneaking through the Mudflub Pens and into the building (with the help of Munch swimming through a pipe filled with fat and other cack), Abe takes control of Lulu, who can then be used to control the factory - divirting the flow of extracted fat, for instance, so it doesn't leak into the river.
One thing Paul (I think it was Paul, it might have been some other Inhabitant in a magazine) talked about was the issue of implementing the Lulu concept without making Lulu as much of a star as Abe and Munch, the latter especially, since it's his first game, not Lulu's. What they ended up doing does make great sense, so I do respect OWI for that decision, and don't hold it against them at all. It would have been fun to issue orders by controlling Lulu, but then we didn't have the GameSpeak capabilities in the finished game. |
Okay, thanks Max. I never knew any of that.

i have a question about this pic....
http://www.womengamers.com/revprev/a...ld/Raisin3.gif the character acing the raisin at the bottom of the picture, is that supposed to be a gabbit, i know it resembles one but could it maybe be a new character? possibly Nod, i mean one clue would be that nod's oddysee probly take place in the near oddworldian future right, and the raisin's in a dump heap, maybe it's in the future and the village he once dwelled was soiled by industrialists. Is this a new guy, or is it just me. |
I always thought this aswell, then for awhile I began to think that it was just Munch cowering behind Abe. In the end I still have no idea, prehaps Nod; prehaps not?
|
This image is part of a larger one, attached, which shows more of the junkyard and the rickety wooden platform leading to the Raisin. I believe teh squiggle is meant to be Munch. I guess you can explain away the ponytail by saying that early Gabbit designs included ponytails. You could ask Alf, he seems to have been in a more forthcoming mood over the past couple of weeks (I'm thinking about the age thread here), so maybe you'd get an explanation.
|
I've always assumed that was Munch...he has the same belly and foot.
|
i knew it was part of a larger picture, i just thought that could have been Nod, i picture Nod looking something like a gabbit with like a quail thing growing out of his head.
|
I think it's munch...
but of cource it could be all the creatures we heard of but didn't saw any pic of them, or even creatures we don't even know they exist |
|
I remember seeing that and considering posting asking if anyone knew what it was - but then forgot. Curse you/well done, Mac. Clearly it's part of a level that never made it into the final version. On the bottom level you can just about make out what might be one of the Glukkon floor murals, meaning it's a Magog Cartel factory, not part of Vykkers Labs. I'd like to know what factory, what those things on the ceiling are, and just how this was supposed to have slotted into the game.
