No, but I'd say it's worth fifteen bucks.

T-nex 06-22-2011 12:26 PM

Playing UT2004 again.... That game never gets old. I may take occasional breaks from it, but when I start again, it never lets me down =D I wish I was any good at it though. lol.

I think next month, I may buy Terraria. I've been watching TotalHalibut on yt the last week... And Imust say, it's some of the most entertaining gaming-related videos I've ever watched. His persona is just really... Enjoyable.
And he reviews a lot of games, both indie and popular. It's a very good channel for casual gamers. Anyway, it made me wanna try terraria. And before anyone goes off on Minecraft, no I don't really wanna play minecraft. I think I like the simplicity of Terraria more. Well I have to try it first of course.

Ahhhh I remember UT2004. If memory serves me correct, adding custom levels was a nightmare!

I was going to get minecraft, but then I got fortresscraft. Because I lose interest in pc games. But slouched on my couch? endless fun. I can't remember if you have a 360 or not. If you do, get it and come build with me. Well, you and Chris. Then you can come build with me and Elvis. Our world is pretty okay so far, but it would be neat to have more people collaborating on it.

Mr. Bungle 06-22-2011 01:03 PM

I'm playing a bit of Abe's Exoddus on the side of Majora's Mask. I'd play Exoddus more, but my tolerance level for frustration is at an all-time low. I know Majora's like the back of my hand, though, so it's a great game to play right now. Still my favourite Zelda game, too.

Disgruntled Intern 06-22-2011 01:06 PM

Yeah, Majora's Mask was definitely my favorite. But it was also the last Zelda game I played, so.

Me and a friend were tempted to get that, but the epidosodic nature of it prevented us. Dont they add new things to each new one, so is it like DLC, or are they stand alone things?

Disgruntled Intern 06-22-2011 01:18 PM

Oh, you mean the chapters? I think there's going to be something like 7 chapters in total, but they're going to be spaced so far apart that it won't really hurt your experience. They'll be treated like DLC, and inbetween each chapter they do free updates/patches which fix minor bugs/add new content to the current chapter for free. It's completely open-ended and without goals, so it's not like you can really get to the 'end' of chapter 1 and have to wait for chapter 2 or anything. I don't know, I've killed a lot of time with it. Probably one of the best indie games I've played to date, and you can do a lot with it, even in its fetal stages.

A lot of people are bitching and calling it a minecraft clone, which I guess it currently is, but after reading what they have in store, it definitely sounds like it's going to be a totally unique and completely different game with just a similar foundation.

tl;dr :

not stand alone, each chapter is like dlc, free updates/patches that add new content inbetween chapters are released every 5-12 weeks, worth the 240 points.

Daxter King 06-22-2011 01:49 PM

Oh okay, my biggest worry was that I would buy Chapter 1 and then have to buy each new chapter to get new content, Ill have to give it a try then.

I really really wish i had a 360 :p It has a lot of great titles(it has fable 2 i think)... But Im kind poor in that regard X) Also I don't have a tv, but Im sure the comp screen could be set up to work with Xbox.
Eeeh you people and consoles X( I wish people could play together cross platforms )=
I loved the fact that Chris at least had a ps3... :p I like backseat gaming. Specially on consoles. But here at home, It's just me and my trusty computer and to a lesser extent my laptop.

Ridg3 06-23-2011 01:43 AM

There. Just bought Fortresscraft. Now that is two craft games that I need to decide on which is better.

Dynamithix 06-23-2011 02:36 AM

Minecraft is also coming to the 360 later this year. I have a feeling that no one will buy Fortresscraft after that unless the makers add something really unique to it. How different is it than MC anyway?

Ridg3 06-23-2011 02:41 AM

I'll probably buy Minecraft for the Xbox as well. Only because, as DI said, slouching on the sofa playing beats the shit out of playing at a computer. Regardless of how much I prefer PC gaming.

Dynamithix 06-23-2011 02:45 AM

Yeah, even if it was playing on a laptop on the sofa, controller is IMO better for some games.

Jordan 06-23-2011 08:37 AM

Just tried the Sonic Generations demo. It's fun, not so much like the classics but more so than Sonic 4. I think I could enjoy this a lot more. Looking forward to the full game.

JennyGenesis 06-23-2011 08:52 AM

I was totally excited for Sonic 4!!!!!

Then I played the demo.................

By the time chapter four of FC is out the only similarity the two are really going to have is the 'creation' aspect.

Dixanadu 06-24-2011 12:33 PM

I started playing Oblivion again, hopefully it'll keep me going until Skyrim comes out.

I overheard this funny ass convo between two Imperials, talking about the Anvil chapel attack. One went "Did you hear? Anvil's priests and priestesses have been murdered."

Then the other literally shouted, "NOOOOO!!!" Then they started talking about wizards in Summerset Isle.

Ridg3 06-24-2011 01:25 PM

Stopped procrastinating and finally picked up the controller again to finish games that I haven't yet completed.

Oblivion.
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age 2
Amnesia The Dark Descent

And others that are lying around the depths of my chest of drawers.

Phylum 06-24-2011 06:35 PM

I've continued my snail's-pace journey through Rayman. I beat Mr. Stone. Fucking hell, Mr. Stone's Peaks was a fucking hard level. Seriously. Fuck. It's the kind of level you have to just know. I've been running it the last few days and today I just "clicked" and finished it losing only one life.

Eraser Plains is looking to be a fucking tough level. The pencil jumping is annoying as fuck, because the level designers seem to have felt the need to include low and/or inconvenient walls everywhere.

At least I can run now. I was getting sick of Rayman casually walking everywhere.

Mr. Bungle 06-24-2011 08:41 PM

Yeah, the original Rayman is one of the most challenging games I've ever played.

Phylum 06-25-2011 12:34 AM

I agree, although I'm finding the hardest parts to be the invisible event spaces that make enemies and platforms spawn. It's the kind of level design you have to learn, rather than just being challenging. It's not like I finish a set of levels the first time (or if I do I use up so many continues it would be pointless saving), though, so I don't really mind.

Jordan 06-25-2011 03:32 AM

Last time I played Rayman I gave up at Eraser Plains. It got far too frustrating. Those levels have always been a big problem for me, oh how I raged at them when I was a kid.

Phylum 06-25-2011 04:22 AM

I think the pencils you have to jump across change pattern slightly every time you die. You have to jump well rather than memorise patterns.

Mac Sirloin 06-25-2011 09:59 AM

I tried out the trenched demo. Very fun, has rather unique gameplay, and seems pretty deep for customization and such. Probably buying the full version when I have the money.

Phylum 06-25-2011 06:28 PM

I got Duel of the Planeswalkers for free after the PSN was taken down. I've started playing that whenever Rayman gets too much.

I'm fucking loving it. I wish I'd collected Magic instead of Yu-Gi-Oh when I was younger.

Dynamithix 06-26-2011 02:54 AM

For the last 3 days, I've been playing and trying out all sorts of iPod touch games. I don't get why many people like Angry Birds, it's boring. Only paid for it so that my mum can play it from time to time, she likes it.

Zookeeper Touch Edition, Army of Darkness, Osmos and Pig Shot are currently my fav. apps probably.

Rayman was amazing. Though all I remember was the music level and some guy in a purple coat.

I think that's the last boss, Mr. Dark or something.

T-nex 06-26-2011 10:27 AM

I remember my hours of frustration and crying when i was a kid and played rayman. I also remember fantasizing about kidnapping the rayman developers and torturing and interrogating them about why they'd make such an evil and frustrating game.

Wings of Fire 06-26-2011 11:26 AM

I remember the Tarzan Rayman dude.

And thinking this was a mediocre game.

T-nex 06-26-2011 12:52 PM

I actually loved Rayman despite all the rage.

Disgruntled Intern 06-27-2011 09:04 AM

rented saints row 2. pretty fun, definitely an improvement over the first. kastere, don't you own it? I'm probably going to buy it since it's so cheap. we should play.

I used to do the same thing over a very obscure PS1 game called Tank Racer.

Anybody else think the Challenge Tower in Mortal Kombat 9 is utter horseshit?

I have hated every moment of this stupid tower and I am tearing my hair out at #251. I've spent hours trying to pass it and despite help of the internet I still haven't done it yet.

What's pissed me off aswell is the fact that only in the past few days I have began talking to my ex again (we aint spoke since November) and he's told me that he has actually completed the entire tower. I've seen the achievement on his profile aswell so I know he isnt lieing.

I found it fun. But in my opinion it had way too many glitches! I don't have an interest in Saints Row The Third.

WARNING:SPOILER ABOUT FINAL MISSION

A friend needed help with the very final mission in the game. We become confused as the power boxes in the tower just wouldnt explode. So we reset the game and suddenly, the boxes wereactually blowing up when we shot at them.............

Dynamithix 06-27-2011 12:54 PM

That's barely a spoiler, hah.

Also, Jenny, I have a question for you. In the second mission of Blur, Event 5, how the hell can I get over 14 seconds time? I've tried most of the cars I have unlocked and I can't get to the boss fight because of it.

Any suggestions which car I should use?

(Sorry if the question's a bit strange.)

Mr. Bungle 06-27-2011 03:19 PM

Still playing Majora's Mask.

Did a number of things today, most importantly, the Kafei & Anju side-quest and collected three heart pieces in the same cycle. I'm now beating myself up because I forgot to save and go back to day one at the end of the final day, where the moon crushes the city. I assumed it automatically saved for you, considering I had never done anything important whilst letting the countdown happen. I'm such a moron.

I believe that's the one on LA Docks right? If so then its easy to do in any vehicle. I have even done it in the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor R (Off Road)

If you want it the easy way though try the Audi TTS Coupe. It's the worst car in the game but its great handling comes in handy but if you have the BMW M3 E92 (Tuner) then that would be a better choice. The best advice I can give is when given the choice beetween the two go for the stopwatches instead of the nitros. At the very first fork in the track go to the right. At the 2nd take the middle path. Thats the quickest way around the track.

Sadly for the 3rd time my data for Blur on the hard drive is corrupted so I was doing this event last night. I'm going back to unlock all the boss cars since I do like to use them online sometimes. Thank goodness the online side of things are not saved on your hard drive. I'd go nuts having to start from the begining again. That would mean loosing my rank of Legend X Rank 50 and loosing all of my upgrades and paint jobs on the cars (only 2 more cars left to complete before I have done every single one in the game)

Dynamithix 06-28-2011 05:14 AM

Ok, thanks, I'll try that as soon as I get back home.

JennyGenesis 06-28-2011 12:24 PM

Hope it helped.

Reguarding my progress on Mortal Kombat. I finally managed to beat #251 by blind luck.

I'm just stuck on #269 now. You gota play as Stryker and defeat 3 Shao Khan's. You get no power ups or health boosts either. Found a video on Youtube on how to do it and basicly you just need to keep doing Back Forward X or Square (depending on console) so Stryker keeps shooting his gun. It keeps pushing Shao Khan back and it prevents him from throwing his green spears as well. Sadly he is still able to throw his hammers no matter what so you gota jump over them. I've gotten close to killing the 3rd plenty of times but the bastard seems to catch me out with a hammer or his shoulder barge.

I've played through it limitless times and never have I come across a single glitch.
