With the Exia, be very careful and always double-check what you're chopping out. And tweezers are probably best for applying stickers, okay.

Wings of Fire 01-28-2010 05:47 PM

I don't feel comfortable at all building a £40 model just at the moment, considering I made three mistakes with that one, one of them very big (But not likely to be made again ever).

I think I might buy a couple of HGUCs from that UK based kit model website I found (They have piss poor selection) and practise with those first.

MeechMunchie 01-29-2010 10:10 AM

Got this from the London Science Museum. It expands to several times its own size when you throw it in the air.

Freeze-frame - it gets a little bigger than that.

Got this from France. What could it contain? What mysteries lie within?

Stare deep into its sparkling eyes. Become hypnotised by its gently bobbing head. Dance. Dance like you don't care. Dance like there is a psychotic cobra who will chew your face off if you ever stop.

I'm a slow builder, but that's the torse out the way.

Mac Sirloin 01-31-2010 03:22 PM

I went up to the AGO Museum in Toronto yesterday, but stopped by The Silver Snail and dropped about 40 dollars onto some stuff.
Firstly:
Photobucket
Paul McCartney and The Fool on the Hill, AKA Jeremy.
Photobucket
Mostly inarticulate, but still has lots of character. Paul's right arm is mysteriously lighter than the rest of his body, though on the packaging it's that way so I assume it was deliberate.
Photobucket
Jeremy is the main reason I bought this. I'm trying to get my sister to buy the one that comes with The Yellow Submarine itself, but they all come with pretty neat extras. He needs a stand just to stand on his own, though. It was provided appropriately.

Photobucket
My first Storm trooper not from 1977. This guy is acceptably articulated and just kind of neat all around. I've got another one in the mail, along with a GI Joe I didn't want.
Photobucket
I like this picture.

Aaaaaand my first Gundam model kit.
Photobucket
Far right. It took about 2 and a half hours to assemble. Really just great all around, I'm going to make a habit of buying at least one every few months, they're a great way to eat up some time.
Photobucket

Here are some additional pictures I took of things a few weeks ago:

Hey, the RX-78-2.

OddjobAbe 02-01-2010 07:13 AM

Did I mention that I own a Sweep glove puppet that I have had since I was little, and have had to mend many a time? It now looks similar to this (only more worn):

OANST 02-01-2010 07:40 AM

I recently got a ton of cool shit. I haven't taken any pictures, but I can give you links.

'Splosion Man and Maw statues: (The Maw is actually transparent, like in the game)

http://www.twistedpixelgames.com/store.htm

Eddie Riggs statue: (this thing is a lot bigger than I expected it to be, and I'm having a hard time figuring out where to put it)

Companion Cube plush:

I got some shirts and stuff too, but this was the best of the bunch.

Hey, the RX-78-2.

Yepper. I was hoping to find a Z'Gok or Gogg, but those were long gone.

This is the next one I'm buying: http://dalong.net/review/00/0107/0107_p.htm

Mac Sirloin 02-05-2010 10:28 AM

I got a shitload of stuff this week, seven figures in total. I'll specify what they are later, but here's some nifty pictures featuring all of it.

I am so jealous of your Deathscythe.

Mac Sirloin 02-05-2010 12:48 PM

It's better than I thought it would be. I might have a MSIA Guncannon on its way soon enough too, and I fucking love the Guncannon design.

Wings of Fire 02-05-2010 12:57 PM

Guncannon is the fucking cutest thing ever.

Cammy 02-05-2010 06:58 PM

Hey, hey, keep your hands off Guncannon.

Wings of Fire 02-05-2010 07:10 PM

I'm going to get a Guncannon and not hug it to pieces, because I'm cool.

Cammy 02-05-2010 07:14 PM

Well I got the Mastergrade one and that one only broke one antenna! And I glued that back together. So umm!
Maybe I broke the small one so I can't move it without it crumbling, but the big one is still nice and huggable. And bigger!

Wings of Fire 02-05-2010 07:16 PM

If they have the MG available within the next month on HLJ I'm getting it for sure.

Cammy 02-05-2010 07:18 PM

Noooo, he's mine I think.

Mac Sirloin 02-05-2010 07:52 PM

I now own this, en route Via Mail.
Photobucket
Photobucket
And this, which is from the same person. I owned this one when I was a kid, though it might've been blue. Either way, vague nostalgia.
Photobucket

And then these, which are a rare tabletop action figure brand that was sadly ruined because the distribution center was ruined on 9/11

I now have three models to finish.

Lovely.

Mojo 02-19-2010 12:08 PM

Okay, so I didn't take the pics, but I have these model-kits:

1/30 scale Starcraft Terran Marine
http://70.86.163.186/gallery/images/b_3033_1.jpg

My 'rine has almost this colour-scheme, but with blue parts red, and grey parts mostly black, with some grey accents (boots, codpiece)

1/30 scale Starcraft Zerg Hydralisk
http://qtan.homestead.com/files/hydralisk.jpg

My Hydra is similar in colouration, but not as detailed.

Havoc 02-19-2010 02:38 PM

I own this:

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/earth_1_apollo17.gif

I don't pay much attention to it anymore though. In fact, it isn't as cool as it used to be.

Nate 02-19-2010 03:37 PM

So now you're saying that you are God?

And, given your previous posts, you want us to kill you? I never knew you were so suicidal, Havoc.

Bullet Magnet 02-19-2010 03:43 PM

God... ultimate real estate tycoon... what's the difference?

The best part is that the two shittiest posters made the same awful joke!

Strike Witch 02-19-2010 04:02 PM

Seriously, way to go Havoc. You copied Angry Greeter of all people.

Nate 02-19-2010 04:05 PM

T-nex 02-19-2010 05:09 PM

Really you people. I think Havoc was intentionally trying to be unfunny in order to cause a ruckus X_x Don't take the bait!

Maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I just can't imagine anyone would make that joke and genuinely find it funny.

Anyway.... I don't think I ever showed anything that I have.. I actually don't own a lot of cool shit. I never collected toys or anything like that. However, there are stuff I have that I personally find cool =)

Firstly. In 8th grade I was in Prague on a study trip, and there they have a lot o marionette shops. really cool little dolls, and I always had a fascination with marionettes, so I of course had to buy this thing:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...x/DSC02658.jpg

You can make the legs walk, but you can't move the arms individually. They are kind of set on the same string. Anyway I don't think these dolls were actually toys, but I played a lot with it anyway and ended up sort of breaking one of its arms :( The hair also falls off if I'm too rough with it, so now it just decorates my shelf.

Next, I have this little thing that my sister found for me in a second hand shop. I find it so extremely cute and I love it :p
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...x/DSC02669.jpg

Some years ago when I was still young, my mom took me and my sister to a christmas market where she bought one of these things for me and my sister:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...x/DSC02666.jpg
I like mine the most. It's cuter than my sister's :p ... Speaking of which. I haven't really seen hers in ages. I guess she didn't keep it or something.

Last but not least, I have this cute chibi figure thingy of Haruhi! Yesyes weeaboo and all that :p
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...x/DSC02663.jpg
I've never actually seen the show(i'd love to but I can't really figure out in what order to see it as everyone says it's not chronological). But it does hold sentimental value for me. I joined a club that held primary interest in Anime, but also Japanese culture once... And on my first day there I won their drawing contest which gave me one of these things and a key ring thingy of Sasuke(I don't like Sasuke, so I wont showcase him).

Wings of Fire 02-19-2010 05:15 PM

OH FUCK ME JESUS FUCKING CHRIST FUCKING HELL KILL IT

I'm more horrified by that hairy thing. Ugh!

MA 02-21-2010 06:28 AM

does T-nex practice voodoo or something?

OddjobAbe 02-21-2010 06:45 AM

I forgot to mention that we own a picture of a boy pissing into a toilet above my own toilet. A caption reads: "If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe the seat". Not my own purchase. Emily's. It's a catchy rhyme, though.

We actually both dabble in it.
Not as a religious practice, it's more of an educational/meditative endeavor.
It's actually very interesting and enriching, but has been grossly misrepresented by media portraying it as some kind of black magic designed solely to cause harm to others. Think materialistic buddhism (if that ain't an oxymoron I don't know what is).
