Wow. Been a while since I last posted...though I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue.
Been a little busy (like everyone else ^^) But I'm done with school work for the summer so who knows. I should go back a few pages, read them and reply.

I'm very sorry I haven't been on here much...and not posting in W@RF much either.
But if I catch up on a few things I just might get back in here!...Still not sure...
Again I'm very sorry. :(

MeechMunchie 06-11-2009 11:18 PM

I'm still here, but I'm just waiting for a good oppurtunity to start getting my character into shennanigans.

AlexFili 06-11-2009 11:55 PM

OOC: Okay, time to get something started (If you bring my character back his drinks can then we can start a conversation).

IC: Borso tried to do something constructive with his spare time... all this waiting around made him bored so he picked up a weapons manual and tried to read it. He got bored on the third page and went back to his bored state. Borso was swirling his drinks can around lazily, when he accidently dropped it. The unopened can rolled quite unpredictably, it was hard to see where it was. "Um, does anyone know where that went?". Borso was looking around nervously to try and find it.

Rampage48 06-13-2009 09:14 AM

Name: Ramp
Race: Mudokon
Gender: Male
Age: Earth years:18
Appearance: Dark green skin.Loin cloth.
Personality: Bored,Courages,Sly
Equipment: Rocks
History: Ramp was born into rupture farms. He was sold when he was a egg. And raised up to work at rupture farms.

OOC:Is that ok?

MeechMunchie 06-17-2009 08:03 AM

OOC: Perhaps if I pile enough imaginary dynamite into this thread, there will be some kid of literary explosion.

#100

Splat 06-17-2009 01:00 PM

ooc: The problem is largely a lack of Dripik, which is preventing a lot of the newbies from posting. Dripik is so weighed under with university work that he really doesn't have time to post.

Also, a lot of the older posters are losing interest. This thread really has lost momentum the last two parts, and the story is taking on the consistency of glue and the intrigue of a very small banana.

Gretin 06-17-2009 03:24 PM

OOC: If I'm one of the "older posters" just thought I'd poke my head in and say I'm still around! I've just been a bit stuck for what to do, since Ralph got dumped by Moosh da Outlaw, and Hembar is in the middle of the situation that's waiting for Dripik at the moment. Perhaps I should look at what I can do with Ralph to help get things moving along, but there probably isn't a lot.
But yeah, I'm still lurking around XD

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Rampage? Sorry, but if you did a bit of backreading you would know that you're not allowed to have a character who always "just was" at Rupture Farms. You need him to arrive at Rupture Farms in the present, not the past.

AlexFili 06-18-2009 12:35 AM

OOC: Can't we just have a couple of more glukkon characters? That would make it a lot easier for newbies to play. Why not a trio of them, like in AE? One for each W@RF admin.

dripik 06-18-2009 11:55 AM

Why not a trio of them, like in AE? One for each W@RF admin.

As far as I'm aware, there's only two, unless I'm forgetting someone.

Splat's right about me being busy with university, but it'll only last for one more week. Two exams left and I'm done. Well, I'll have other things to do during the summer, but I'll try to concentrate more on posting here... as it always starts, then ends up in the same circle. Maybe I should do some W@RF artwork again for inspiration...

In the meantime, go have some RL while you're waiting.

...that might have came out as offensive.

EDIT:
OOC: Exams are over. I'm back.

------------------------------

Now that most of the employees were off to their workposts, Arnie could concentrate on other things at hand. He had a few ideas on how to improve efficiency in the factory, and wanted to get to them as soon as possible. But some newcomers emerged in the meantime, along with the three-legged robot (SU) and Rick who finally managed to arrive...

The sight of him being late from the meeting made Arnie's temple throb again. This is exactly why he wanted to change things. Workers were not minding their duties, thinking only for themselves. They needed discipline. Arnie decided to start at once.

"Ah, a latecomer. I'm sure you noticed that you missed the meeting."

"Yes, Boss, I kinda lost track of..." began Rick.

Arnie ignored him and continued. "The meeting about which I clearly gave notice yesterday. I wanted all workers to be present because of the new orders they received. Well, those who actually had the brains to find their way here."

Rick shuffled his legs uncomfortably, trying to avoid Arnie's look. Arnie didn't say anything else to the Mudokon, but turned to SU-01. "I want you to escort this Mudokon here to the Labs and tell the Vykkers there to lock him up in one of the cages."

Rick's eyes widened. He couldn't believe what he heard. "...what? No! Don't do this! I tried..."

"Trying is not enough." said Arnie curtly. He indicated with his head that SU should take Rick away. In the meantime, he noticed that Otto was still around. At the time Arnie looked at his Assistant, he was busy with a Scrab Leg he retrieved from the kitchen. Otto looked back at Arnie while struggling with the Leg. "'hat?" he said, holding the Leg with his teeth.

"Stay here and sort out the rest of the workers. I'm going up to the Office."

"Oh. 'eed a siga' afta' a' 'his 'isniss?"

"Appart from a cigar, I am mindful of my work, unlike some Glukkons I know." he said coldly. With that, he walked out from the Cafeteria. Otto dropped the Scrab Leg on the table next to him and called out. "...OK, anyone in need of a workpost, gather around here."

Splat 06-29-2009 06:57 AM

ooc: Please note everyone, Dripik has edited some IC into his previous post.
Annoyingly, it doesn't effect Dionysia (waiting for Arthur I think) or Anni (Venks? Chronicler?)

However, I may as well move my new guy.

:

Name: Grace
Gender: Male
Species: Slig
Age: 18 (Sligs live to be about 20)
Appearance: Notably smaller than your average big-bro, but still quite big enough thank you very much. His mask is the old visor-style but not quite as opaque as normal; a little can be seen of his sunken, puffy eyes beyond. He bares a fair share of scars and looks fairly roughed-up at the best of times.
Personality: Shrewd and mean; his interests are only for himself and he distains the society he lives in. He's never violent for the sake of violence, but he has a dangerously short fuse.
Equipment: His pants are old and poorly maintained, his visor is old, specialised and reasonably well looked after. His gun is a very old model, but powerful and treasured by its owner.
History: A old battle veteran from when land and slaves were won through war and not deception, Grace was retired from the military when his usefulness was used up. A tactician and a fearsome leader, he did not adapt well to life as a guard. His inability to hold down a job for more than a few weeks have caused much wandering across Mudos, finally leading him to Rupture Farms.
IC:
Pants making a noise not unlike a machine being deconstructed by an imbecile, Grace the slig stalked his way down the corridors of Rupture Farms, his foul cigarette adding its own layer of filth to the already smoke-grimed ceiling. He quickly located the Boss's office, entered the lobby and banged on the door with a fist. When nothing happened for thirty seconds, he left again, and saw a glukkon twaddling down the corridor towards the office in the way only glukkons moved in their ridiculous suits.
"Oi," He called by way of a polite greeting, "You the boss round here?" Over a decade and a half of military service had given him little respect for even the best of glukkons.

Jimmy-le-sniper 06-29-2009 01:32 PM

-----IC-----

Having received his very first objective, SU-01 thoughts : "Finally...My first job around here is an escort mission...It shouldn't be very difficult to find my way to the labs, since I just returned from them."

He turned to Rick and said, with his calm robotic voice : "Let's move. You go first. Since I don't have any specific instructions on how escorts work here, I'll just have my knocking ammo loaded, so don't try anything funny."

He turned his two laser pointers on, aimed them at Rick's back, waiting for him to move.

dripik 06-30-2009 04:47 AM

Rick was still reluctant to move. He expected this to be some kind of feeble joke from Arnie, him turning around and laughing at him, Rick, with the rest of the Cafeteria. That would have been better and more endurable, of course. But the Glukkon has left the Cafeteria - chances for this being a joke was rather low now.

Rick looked at the Snoozer behind him. Two red rays of light were directed at his back. The robot made it clear that he should get moving. Rick cast a last glance at Otto. "Funny. It was usually him with the more radical ideas..." he thought sourly.

Slowly, he walked out from the Cafeteria, followed by SU-01, heading to the Labs.

-------------------------------

"Oi yourself." replied Arnie to the Slig in a snappish manner, angered by his disrespect. His first thought was that he should send him after the Snoozer to escort him to the Labs as well. Unfortunately the Slig was not an official employee - yet - so Arnie could not pull that off. Instead, he resided to saying "Get outta here, some of us have work to do." He made his way to the door of the Office.

Gretin 06-30-2009 05:53 PM

IC!:

Hembar watched and listened in silence as people in the room argued with the robot, then a slig turned up who, by the sounds of it, was head of security. Heh, he doesn't look like much, she thought. Then the robot apologised and left, being shortly followed by the first vykker who had entered before.
Although she didn't show anything outside, her mind was racing - with two less individuals in the room, her chances of getting out of the situation safely were much higher. Especially with the robot gone, that had been the biggest threat. Now really the only significant threat was the slig, and he didn't seem too clued up so she could probably get past him before he knew what was going on. The other mudokon (Ark) looked like he could handle himself now, but there was no way she'd be able to talk her way out of the situation.

But her spiritual senses warned her of another mechanical entity outside the room. She could probably get past the slig no trouble, but a robot would most likely be immune to any illusions she could throw at it, and it would be better able to hit a moving target.

What about the lift, though? she thought. She wasn't sure exactly where it went, but it was an exit, and if she could get down there fast enough she could hide herself before anyone caught up.

Making the decision while everyone seemed distracted, explaining themselves to the slig, she focussed her energy on the elevator, trying to show as little movement as possible. Then, preparing herself to leap, she slowly turned to face the lift.

Suddenly changing her speed, she rapidly pointed her hand towards the lift, resulting in the switch activating itself and sending the elevator downwards. Not waiting a second, she gave a huge, mystically powered leap and landed rolling onto the descending platform.

OOC: I guess it's up to the owner's of the other characters in the room to decide on their reaction speed to her actions :p

IC:

Walking around the packaging area, Ralph looked annoyed. How was he supposed to do his work properly when his team consisted of himself? He didn't know where the other two had got to, or care for that matter, his concern was only that they weren't here.

He found himself looking down from the second level of the production and packaging level, seeing the group (Anni, Skullik, Jim, and Gewehr) there.
Well, it looks like some teams managed to get together he thought. Though it didn't really look like much work was going on. Of course, he couldn't hear anything from up here, but he could see the big creature and one mudokon standing near another one who seemed to be crouching on the floor, then there was the slig who appeared to be polishing some of the machinery.

Wait a minute, he thought. Those mudokons looked familiar. Of course! The one standing up was the one who had been shot the other day, and the other was the one who he had helped carry her to the lab, and who he had later been incredibly rude to in that very area the day before. He didn't know what came over him at times like that - it was like having mood swings, he could be friendly and helpful sometimes and other times he could be as anti-social as an alpha scrab!

He briefly considered apologising, but discarded the idea - for one thing those mudokons were too far away to have anything except maybe a shouting match with, and also apologising would imply that he was wrong, which he just didn't believe to be true.

Turning around and sighing, he decided to just do nothing for the time being. It wasn't like the production area looked very, well, productive yet anyway.

OOC: By the way, Splat, I don't think you answered last time I asked, did you get my PM with the character history for Ralph that you asked for?

Speaking of history, I was just thinking, didn't a portion of Work at Rupture Farms history get wiped when the forums were hacked? I remember at one point we had to just try to remember what had happened over the gap so we could get things moving again.

Splat 07-03-2009 02:58 AM

ooc: Great to see you again, Gretin! I don't think I did get that PM about Ralph, but it doesn't really matter now; Krik sort of forgot all about it in light of other things :p If it gets revisited when he returns, I'll ask again.

As for posts getting wiped, I don't think it's happened for a long time now; I think the last time was a year or two ago.

Also, great to see you back, Slaveless! I'm really gonna miss Gappiqu though :p Hope to see you posting soon; just remember, you don't need to make your posts uber-long or detailed (which I recall was what made you lose the spark the first time). Keep em short and sweet!

I now have 2 minutes before I have to go, and my laptop's about to crash, so no IC for now.

Chronicler 07-03-2009 07:09 AM

OOC: Sorry people for not actually posting at all. I had myself a busy, but nice time. Unfortunatley (or fortunatley) that time is over.

SO THEN! I will be back for this RPG. But I'll pos IC in my next post.

Slaveless 07-06-2009 07:42 AM

OOC: Hi! I’m new.

Sorry for the delay, my first post was deleted by something technical... I was done too.

Anyway, I’m going to miss Gappiqu too. Bouncing off of Dionysia was one of my favorite things to do at the forums, but I probably should just let that be a memory. I don’t even remember where I left off last. It would be a bother to find a way to bring back just one or two of my characters (out of what, 17?).

On the length note, I saw how dripik commented that if I was still here, some of the newcomers wouldn’t survive reading my posts. I will try to be more concise now, as I don’t even want to read some my old posts now (one was like, 12 pages on a word document or something).

But we go again...

IC:

During a backed up and rather busy day on the train docks, one particular small taxi train departed from its destination, Rupture Farms. It only had one passenger to deliver, and that traveler had already left the stairs.
The traveler was an unusual employee, with no real working objective in the factory, but to manage eventually. It was a Glukkon, low in class, but still able to lead a company. His cigarette in his already infected, cavernous mouth wisped in quick segments, revealing the Glukkon’s anxiousness to confront the executive of the facility. Eyes, pure red, scanned the Directory in front of him, analyzing the factory’s premises just to see where to go next. At last, his bulbous head shifted upward, with his feet trying to twiddle over the Executive Office; Squico had arrived.

Squico was pleased to now that he was on the right level to meet the executive leader of Rupture Farms. It wasn’t far from the docks he was on, and if it was still morning, the Glukkon boss was probably making messages to his underlings. Sure enough, he found that his assumptions were true. There was a larger Glukkon also dressed in red (Arnie), giving out commands to a much larger Slig (Grace). He chuckled at the irony; a brute following orders of a smaller creature. It was natural, as Glukkons were born with such power, and no Slig, or Mud for that matter, should think anything otherwise.

The Glukkon (Arnie) was about to enter his office when Squico tried to interrupt with a cry:

"HEY! No mean to disrupt current operations, but I’m highly interested in a job here... Would you care for an interview? I know time is moolah, but I think it would be a good decision to consider me."

Jimmy-le-sniper 07-06-2009 09:50 AM

-----OOC-----

@ Slaveless : Man, that's a nice style you got here. Not even sure I could do this in my mother thongue. I wish I was able to write something like this :p

Anyway, I'm waiting for the things to move at the labs so no IC for now...:D

Splat 07-06-2009 02:45 PM

ooc: As I recall, Gappiqu was last left on an inventing spree, and since this is only a day later he doesn't have to have gone far :p Never mind though (still hoping he'll come back; twud make those plans we discussed o so long ago that much easier :p).

Just do a quick IC now; if the opportunity to move Anni and Dion doesn't arrive soon, I'll just lift them out of their current predicaments (inasmuch as possible).

IC:
Grace rolled his eyes as the gluk gave him the cold shoulder, "Oh come on; you can work out why I'm here. I hate working through little sligs or whoever new employees here are supposed to go to. If you want me, then good; if not, I'll just leave. But I'm not unskilled, and I don't know how much trouble you get round here but I'm guessing a lot. I've killed more savage muds than you've looked at industrial ones, and I know how to whip a lazy sliglet into shape."

He waited for Arnie's reply, but then was interrupted by another glukkon who hopped down the corridor from the direction of the station and also demanded an interview with the boss. Grace shrugged; he'd lived long enough and been kicked around enough by friend as much as foe to know where a slig's place was in industrial society, like it or not.

Slaveless 07-06-2009 03:42 PM

OOC: Inventing stuff? Sounds about right. He has always been the weird Slig in a big bunch. Can you pm me the plans again, I think we did them over chat a long time ago, I'm a little more interested now...

Chronicler 07-06-2009 03:56 PM

IC: Skullik quietly sighed to himself. His small, fireball eyes thoughtfully looked at Anni and Gewehr. He liked how the Mudokon girl decided to go on about a nice little peace treaty with the slig, but he didn't like the idea of working with just one other new person. For this matter, a stranger mudokon (Jim). Anni is a nice girl, one that the big Outlaw just luckily happened to befriend. But will he be able to pull off another friendship or ATLEAST get on the good side of this Mudokon? Jim could've started this fight with Gewehr, but he still COULD be a good guy. After all, he seemed like a very frail, scaredy meep.

Meanwhile, in the bag that Skullik left behind in the middle of the room .... Lexi's belly grumbled again with hunger. Skullik slipped his metal visor back on and examined Jim.
------------------------------------------------

Alot of those grownups began walking out of the room .... one by one .... Uggs puffed out his body to look tough and brave infront of these guys. But they didn't notice the little slig in the first place.

What was that big robot (RG) saying? Efficient? Was that another word for "Evil"? Well, anyways, Uggs has to prove a point here. No more baby stuff. "Ahem .... I'M going home! So get out of MY way!" The larval slig slowly crawled away from the big robot.

dripik 07-12-2009 06:00 AM

OOC: First thing to note, I won't be online next week, will be back on Saturday.

Welcome back, Slaveless! You left when Gappiqu wanted to test that chant suppressor pin with Otto. I think that was the invention Splat's talking about.

--------------------------------------

Realising that Ark was waiting on him, #7 Slig recalled what he asked and answered. "If you don't have a workpost, you should go and speak to Arnie. Last time I saw him was in the Cafeteria. Be careful with him though. He seems to be in a temper this morning."

The noise of sudden movement and perhaps some unexplicable feeling caught his attention. He turned around and saw the Native Mudokon (Hembar) sprinting off towards the lift in the storage, rolling neatly on the platform while it started to descend. For some reason, he never thought about her being in the factory in the first place, and the feathers decorating her apparel made him realize something...

"RG!" he shouted, unnerved by the proceedings, running up to the lift.

RG heard #7 Slig's shout from outside, turning around swiftly. Ignoring Uggs, he leapt over him and entered the Labs, running up to #7 Slig.

"Look!" said the Slig, pointing down in the shaft. RG saw a Mudokon descending towards the lower levels.

"She just left and went down..." said #7 Slig, but broke off as RG holstered his gun and leapt at the shaft cables. With the sound of metal sliding on metal, the robot slowly descended towards Hembar, his orange eyes shining forebodingly in the dim light, watching the Mudokon.

--------------------------------------

"Oh great, so everyone decides to pop up right after the meeting..." said Arnie to the room around him in general, annoyed. The new Big Bro (Grace) was still waiting, now accompanied by a Glukkon (Squico) he never saw before. Nobody realized that he had work to do. No efficiency at all...

Then again, he thought, these new people might be of use. Most employees are acting rather freely, hence all the problems he had in the last few days. With proper supervision, they might reconsider leaving their workpost. Lastly, if he took care of the two newcomers quickly, he could get to his own duties sooner. His temple was still beating, urging him to hurry up.

"Alright." he said to the Big Bro. "I might have use of you. You weren't wrong - we do have trouble here occasionaly. But instead of reacting to trouble, why not avoid it completely, eh? So I want you to go out there, patrol the factory, and make sure everyone follows orders. Pay a visit to the Armory and have a look around, make yourself look more... respectable." said Arnie, with a slight reference to Grace's height.

He turned to the Glukkon. "Now, I'd say you have the same job as this Big Bro here... Perhaps with a bit more authority." he said the last sentence in a lower voice. "Take a walk around the factory, remind those who are slacking off to do their job, and praise those who work properly. Don't go too far with the latter. Otherwise, I'll tell you if you have some special task to do."

He turned towards the door leading to his office, but he stopped. "And what do they call you two?"

arkaznor 07-12-2009 06:44 AM

IC: Ark, lazily turned his head as the female Mudokon ran off down the shaft, and stepped out of the way as the robot ran after her.

'Shame, I kind of liked her... even if she was a little weird,' by this time though Ark's thought had caught up to wait #7 slig said, before he ordered "RG" after the Mudokon. 'Great, I'm being sent to the Glukkon that sent me to this Slig, by this Slig. And he's in the cafeteria. Well, damn.'

Turning back to #7 Slig, Ark responed, "Right, so, um... I probably shouldn't go into the cafeteria in a while, but thank you for the information and the tip."

Not wanting to really face another argument, or questioning, Ark took the opportunity to leave, even though this entire event was mostly his fault. That said he really didn't want to face the cafeteria either.

Quickly leaving the group, before any of them could really stop him (hopefully), he stood out in the hall apart from the group.

'It's probably a bad idea to go into the cafeteria, but all the people that were in there could be gone, since it is where you're suppose to eat. But, I shouldn't take that chance, on the other hand though, Arnie's likely to move and this is the only time I know where he is. Then there's the Mudokon that rescued me, she seem decent enough at distraction and stealth, but she doesn't strike me as one that could easily talk her way out of a situation… especially if you go running down a shaft the first chance you get.'

Making up his mind, Ark started down the corridor, towards the stairs to the grinders.

OOC: Right, feel free to stop Ark; he isn't that far away, yet. Also, I'm back from Thailand, not that anyone cares...

Jimmy-le-sniper 07-13-2009 01:45 AM

Loud metal steps could be heard in the corridor...SU-01 was approaching the labs, still escorting his target. He saw one of the mudokon(Ark) he first saw at the labs, walking in the corridor, heading to the stairs. He stopped, and starred at him for a while. Then, thinking he probably got the permission to leave, he continued and got into the room he was some times ago. There still was #7 Slig.

"I'm on an escort mission. I have received the order by the Main Executive to bring you this Mudokon (He pointed Rick with one of his gun). Your instructions are to lock him in a cage until further notice..."

SU-01 noticed that something was wrong. He didn't saw RG while returning here. He was detecting him a few levels under, and even if he wasn't 100% sure, due to the differences between the two robots, he was decoding his statut as "In Pursuit". Not to mention that the elevator just stopped a few seconds after he entered the room.

"Is there a problem here ?" he asked.

Gretin 07-13-2009 02:25 PM

OOC: Just thought I'd mention, though I don't really expect anyone to remember these kinds of things, but Hembar removed the feathers earlier to avoid being too conspicuous.

IC:

Thinking quickly as she descended down the elevator, Hembar heard the noises from above of the people reacting to her disappearance. She heard loud metallic footsteps and then the robot she'd sensed outside the room (RG) leapt onto the lift cables and started sliding down towards her.

This might complicate things, but nevermind - she was on the defensive now so she was confident she could handle anything the robot could throw at her, for a limited time at least. And anyway, they had nearly reached the bottom.

Considering her options briefly, she decided the best move was to leave the elevator as soon as there was enough room for her to get off it onto the floor below - if she waited until it reached the ground the robot might have caught up to her, and it's weapon was holstered so she could probably get out of its line of sight before it was ready to fire.

Timing it carefully, she waited until the elevator had descended enough that the opening to the next room was just visible, then dived under the edge, dropping to the floor of the next room. She looked quickly around the area, noticing a lot of controls for pumping equipment. Pumping equipment - that would mean pipes. She looked up, and sure enough there was a system of piping running through the ceiling.

Excellent, she thought. She leapt towards the roof, her feet glowing dimly with mystical power, and grabbed hold of a pipe. Then, swinging herself around on top of them, she waited in silence, knowing the robot would only be seconds behind her.

She doubted it'd be a very effective place to hide as such, from a robot, but she hoped the pipes would stop it from just firing at her.

OOC: If anyone has any problem with this just say so and I'll change it.

Splat 07-14-2009 12:29 PM

ooc: Alright, since Venks has failed to reappear, I'm gonna assume Gewehr has left the production lines, to go and smoke, or gone off in a huff, or to find someone to complain to, or whatever; if'n'when Venks returns he can choose.
Gonna get on with moving Anni and Jim; I'll try and tie it in with your post, Chronicler.

IC:
Jim had started working at the machinery, quiet and slightly nervous, not quite recovered from his previous panic attack and also aware that the slig could return any time (with reinforcements, even), despite Anni's assurances that she would make sure the slig left him alone with the big... thing. In this situation, he felt it best to just get on with it and hope for the best. He glanced up and noticed said big creature examining him. He gave him a somewhat spineless, unconvincing grin and turned hastily back to pulling the levers.

Meanwhile, Anni was half-heartedly mopping the floor, though not gaining much entertainment from it, so she was easily distracted by a small noise; she looked around and noticed Skullik's enormous pack on the floor nearby. While it was likely that said noise was made by the pipes under the floor, none-the-less, she was willing for her attention to be diverted.
She put her mop in its bucket and let the handle lean against a barrel. As she approached the pack, her mop slid off of it's prop and banged gently on the ground. She ignored this, however, and reached for the flap of Skullik's pack.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Grace was a little surprised to be given so much authority so soon, but said nothing on that. He also ignored the jab about his appearance. He had no interest in how he looked.

He expected he would have to work under the command of a superior when such an individual presented himself, but in the meantime, he thought he ought to get on with it. "Grace, sir," He said smartly at the request for a name (without faintest hint in his expression or tone that this might be at all funny) - now he was employed, his attitude to his boss was somewhat less casual. "I'll have a look around sir," He added and paused to make sure there was nothing else to be told before he left.

Chronicler 07-15-2009 02:14 PM

Skullik was a tad bit annoyed by Jim's grin. Why such a smile at such an uneeded time? Was he frightened by the big Outlaw, and simply wanted to be on said outlaw's good side? Even such, Skullik ignored it and let out a low growl. He turned back for work. So .... what was there to d-Hold on .... Skullik remembered .... his backpack! Lexi! His backpack AND Lexi! Damn .... The reptillian behemoth turned around to retrieve his pack, but he noticed Anni making her way towards it.

What the hell is this girl thinking?! Looking through his business?! The large outlaw held in his fear and slowly tromped over to the backpack, hoping that nothing suspiscious would happen .... But then again .... Lexi poked her head out of the pack, looking around the metallic area before actually staring at the odd pink mjudokon girl. The paramite began panting and pounced out of her pack, despite Skullik looking angry with her. Lexi crawled over to the pink mudokon with her paramite grin ...
--------------------------------------------

Uggs watched as the huge robot creature rocketed off in a hurry, equipped with a .... gun?! The slig larvae was a bit taken back. But he can't let such an obstacle stand in his way. Before he could react, the robot was gone. Uggs was quite angry. "Hey! Listen ta ME! ME! Ya stupid schmuk!"

OOC: This is as good a time as any, so here I go. It's also one of the most innapropriate times possible, which is precisely when I see my character emerging.

IC:
In the near-silence behind the pipes, the rapidly fading glow of Hembar's mystic power caught the shadow of a spine. Exhausted and bedraggled, Crunchy inched towards the only source of heat he could find in a fortress of cold metal. A soft thud rang from the floor as the limp form of a Meech flopped down.

-----OOC-----

Since Drippik is offline for a while, I think I'm gonna join the chase by myself :p
If both Drippik and Gretin agree, I would like to make my character somewhat find Hembar (while RG search her elsewhere) and finally let her go...That would be a good possibility for me to develop my character ;)

I'm gonna wait for your answers before I post IC again...

You can't control another player's character; it's against the RPG rules. Now would be a good time to go and read those.

So you can't control Hembar. You have to wait for other player's to appear and react to your posts.

MeechMunchie 07-19-2009 07:37 AM

I have read the rules, but I thought it said you couldn't control other characters in any significant way, so a basic reaction was excusable. Sorry though. I'll edit it out.

EDT: I'm actually slightly offended that you thought I would totally ignore rules that had been put there for a reason. I'm not ignorant, you know.

RE-EDIT: I think I got mixed up with power-playing. I'm not doing very well, am I?

AlexFili 07-19-2009 08:41 AM

OOC: Is Arnie recruiting the newbs yet? Just thought I'd ask.

Splat 07-20-2009 03:41 AM

ooc: Sorry, I did sound pretty harsh MeechMunchie. I hope I haven't discouraged you from RPing; sometimes it's hard to remember that I was a newb once, too.

Slaveless 07-27-2009 04:39 AM

OOC: Sorry for the delay...

IC:

Squico wasn’t sure to be furious or to be ecstatic about this new job. His brow furrowed at what kind of response to give Arnie. At one point, it was his dream to work at Rupture Farms when Mullock was still alive, and now a little bit of dream was realized. He actually landed a job on the first try of getting a job. However, it was pretty easy to get the job. Almost too easy.

That’s what bothered Squico. His job was just dished out. Like it didn’t matter all that much in the end. His job seemed like the equilivent of what the Slig beside him just got. It didn’t help to say he had more ‘authority’ than the Slig (Grace). He felt insulted as a Glukkon to just get a job without any registration, any interview, or any gurantee of a job. It blew him off to no end when Arnie asked him what was his name. He didn’t even feel valued enough to even be given a name. Squico lost his cigarette on the ground from his anger, but hastily tried to shrug it off. He didn’t want bad reports already.

"They’s call me Squico. Thanks for the job," was the only thing he could bear to tell Arnie. Turning away, Squico muttered inaudibly under his breath, "Bastard...."

He saw that the rather large Slig in front of him was still there, clearly not following orders. Squico thought that this was a chance to blow some steam and to prove he was going to be quite an addition to the executive branch. He burst to the Slig (Grace), "Hey! If yer gonna just bein’ standin’ there instead of doin’ yer job, you may as well light me a cigar! NOW!"

-----OOC-----

Hello ? Is there anybody in there ?:p

dripik 08-12-2009 10:33 AM

OOC: Must... resist... posting... OK, I give up. And Splat bothered me again, so double-check your doors, Jimmy!

---------------------------

Arnie was relieved that he was done with the newcomers, so he turned around to face the Office door. As he was about to enter, however, the Glukkon Squico let out a yell at the BigBro Grace to lit him a cigar. Perhaps the loud voice, or their fooling around triggered Arnie's pulsating temple again.

"Both of you, get a move along!" he shouted at them, and finally entered the Office. The door slid into place behind him with a thud.

---------------------------

RG, clutching the lift cables with one hand and the other hanging relaxedly by his side, ready for anything sudden. As he slid downwards, he saw the Mudokon (Hembar) getting off the platform as soon as it reached an opening. After a few seconds, RG found the height right for a quicker descension. He released the cables and a few seconds of free-falling, landed on the platform with a loud clank.

The lift came to a halt. RG stepped out, scanning his surroundings. He arrived to the pump control room in the basement. The fleeing Mudokon was nowhere in sight, though the door was closed, and looked like it had been like that for some time. So the Mudokon was still in the room somewhere.

"While we continue this rather entertaining game of hide-and-seek..." said RG to the room in general, waiting for a reaction from the Mudokon, and activating his heat-reading sight at the same time. "...I would like to know who are you fleeing from, Mudokon organic. Surely there was a reason why you made such a beeline to the elevator."

---------------------------

Meanwhile, #7 Slig followed RG with his eyes as the robot descended in the elevator shaft and dissappeared. Wondering about the condition he's going to see the runaway Mudokon in when RG finds her, he turned away from the lift, only to see Rick marching into the Lab, with SU-01 at his heels. Apparently, Rick was lead there by the Snoozer, though #7 Slig had no idea why.

"What happened with you?" he asked Rick.

"Apparently, being late from a meeting is considered terrorist activity these days, so I was apprehended." said Rick with a forced grin. SU-01 explained that Arnie sent Rick up to be locked in a cage. #7 Slig was a bit taken aback. This offence, if it can be called that, is unlikely to make Arnie come up with imprisonment as a punishment. In fact, Arnie has never ordered anyone to be locked up. Well, he might have agreed on a few occasions, but those were in connection with real terrorist activity. But being late?...

Rick saw that #7 Slig was lost in thought, so he spoke. "Come on, Chief, lock me up. We don't want to deny Arnie's orders, do we?"

Rick's comment was weird to #7 Slig - he couldn't decide whether he was joking or he was making a snide remark on the authorities. Has everyone gone mad?

He turned to SU-01 in his confusion. "Thanks, that'll be all. Everything's all right here, we just had a Mudokon jump into the lift and go down - probably to the pump control room. We have no idea why she fled, it happened rather suddenly. Perhaps you could stand guard in the basement corridors? Just to make sure?"

Jimmy-le-sniper 08-13-2009 11:22 AM

-----OOC-----

Oh, no...Not again :p
My question wasn't asked just for you, you know ? Plus I didn't asked anything to Splat :D Oh, well, I better check my doors, once again...

-----IC-----

The punishment seemed quite inappropriate for SU-01 too. Even he could be late because of technical difficulties someday...He looked at both Rick and #7 Slig
"Advice : My orders did not specify me to check if the punishment was executed or not...What happens next is up to you"

He winked somewhat, with one of his four eyes-lights and said :

"According to my calculations, the fugitive Mudokon is not very far yet. I'll take the same path as him, to maximize my ...*correction* our chances to catch this target."

He headed towards the lift shaft, turned is foot into four little anti-gravity modules (smaller version of those who were in the Vikker's Main Ship) and jumped into the shaft...

"Non-lethal ammo loaded. Engage pursuit mission"

A few seconds before he hits the top of the lift he activated his fours modules at full power, just enough to decrease his falling speed...He stopped his levitation and went through the cabin's roof and he landed on the floor with a loud "clank".

He turned to RG and said, with his best cold, robotic voice : "Reinforcements has arrived"

Splat 08-13-2009 02:15 PM

"Reinforcements has arrived"

Grammar chip malfunction! :p [/grammar_nazi]

And I confess that I was in no way encouraged or abetted in the previously mentioned botherment. *Winks enormously*

IC:
Grace felt the blood run hot in his own veins; "I'm sorry, sir," He said smartly, the 'sir' as vicious as a slap to the face, "But no part of my boss's orders said I should waste my time performing menial tasks for his unranked members of staff. And frankly, rather than do so, I think I should be getting on with my own job. Time is moolah."
Odd, he hated glukkons.

Jim turned at the sound of Anni's mop flopping to the floor and saw her approaching the bag, "What are you-" and trailed off fearfully when he spotted the enormous outlaw stalking towards her looking angry. "Um." And then he spotted the paramite and gasped.

Anni's eyes widened as the paramite appeared from Skullik's pack. But it was alone (she could have told with her eyes closed if it was with friends - and so liable to attack) and it was approaching her almost fearlessly. "Wow," She muttered, smiling gleefully and held out a hand to the animal experimentally as it stalked towards her playfully. She noticed Skullik approaching and asked excitedly, "Hey, did you know she was in there? What's her name?"

ooc: Anni is exceptionally good with animals. And she has a pet paramite called Somi.

Chronicler 08-14-2009 01:37 AM

OOC: Hmm. Looks like I returned here at a good time!

IC: Skullik almost cringed when he saw Lexi crawling over to Anni. Oh oh. The outlaw just somehow knew his plans would fall. Looks like his paramite pal will become just another pie ... Unless Anni can keep her mouth shut about it. Still, he liked her, she seemed like a kindly mudokon. And her positive reaction eased down the big scaly outlaw. "Uuuh ... Her name's Le-le-l-lexi. Lexi." Skullik sort of hesitated. He doubted having to explain to the mud everything about his business. but he'd most likely have to if she asks another question like that ... Lexi meanwhile, happily pounced onto Anni and slobbered all over the mud's face.
----------------------------------
Uggs crawled his way through the hallway, stomping his hands loudly against the cold metal floor. He knew it could attract dangers. Like maybe ghosts, or evil scrabs, or maybe some spooky slig with a night stick! But little Uggs sort of wanted to cause a bit trouble right now. His sole mission was to find his home in this big place, but all these big grown-ups around here looked like they could use a good bop in the face ... "Hey! SHUDDUP!!" Uggs randomly yelled out, hoping to call maybe another wierd robot thing with a loud noise.

Psychocath 08-16-2009 02:43 AM

(OOC: Well, hi guys. I'm new here. I saw this RP of yours and kinda wondered if I could join in. The last RP group I was in flatlined because of a lack of activity. Also, despite my character's, er, rough description, I don't godmode in RPs. She's a bit of a bitch, but she won't go around killing every single worker in the factory ;) And apologies in advance for the TL;DR, I like to put as much detail as I can into character profiles.)

---

Name: Skleros

Race: Slig

Gender: Female

Age: Mentality equivalent to a 20 year old human, is approximately 7 in Slig years.

Appearance: Wears a visor gas mask that could be considered vintage. Her far left feeler and the middle finger of her right hand are both missing. Has fairly deep scars on her neck and around her waist. Owns sturdily-constructed steel pants, rather than standard iron, and a breastplate with attached filter units for the gas mask. Skleros is quite tall for a slig, and the sound of her modified mechanical legs screeching down the hallways is enough to spook just about anyone.

Personality: A very violent Slig with an addiction to Lungbusters. Likes to keep to herself and takes her work very seriously. Will chit-chat briefly while off-duty when she has her coffee and cigar. She can be quite pleasant to be around when she's in a good mood.

Equipment: A set of custom pants with bladed kneecaps and small thigh-mounted ammo containers, an electric baton and a popper.

History: Skleros was well known for her temper while she was still in the barracks. She was not above beating, burning and even shooting those who interrupted her whilst on-duty. She once put a Big Bro into A&E with her electric baton, though it cost her a feeler and a finger, left her with many scars and her pants were mangled after the incident. Repairing and upgrading her legs cost most of her wage packet, but she felt it was better than having another set of bog-standard equipment. Once her days in the barracks were through, Skleros was soon assigned to the brewery.

She only worked briefly at Soulstorm Brewery, and was transferred swiftly after the murders of several lazy co-workers (Two of which were Mudokons she deemed 'unfit for consumption, let alone floorscrubbing duties'). Her transfer to Rupturefarms as a security guard - a job she is highly efficient in - will ease the minds of her former employers and most probably terrify the new ones.

---

Skleros grunted and stepped off the train, clutching her transfer papers in one hand and a fat cigar in the other. How dare they. She was only doing her job, right? The slackers weren't worth the ink on their reports, let alone her ammunition. Well, no matter now. Perhaps her soon-to-be new employer would better appreciate her work ethic. She took a long drag at the dying cigar before flicking it away.

"Bunch of assholes. None of 'em were competant."

The intimidating slig started to prowl the long metal corridors in search of an authorative figure, her steel legs glistening beneath the amber lighting.

ooc: Welcome to the forums! Your character looks pretty good. Just post her profile in the W@RF profile thread as well and you're ready to rock. :p
