If you can rip it, I'd like to see it. But, if it takes up too much time or it can't be done, that's ok because im not gonna make someone do something. But, yeah, if you can rip it to see it, that would be great. But only if you have time.

There are now TWO DVD's up for bidding on Ebay. Good price, too.

i was just wondering what are meechs, and what are they there in ao for if they are extinct. did they have a purpose?
They were just one of the animals that resided in Oddworld's wilderness. Like paramites and scrabs, they were hunted and chopped into tasty treats.
Unfortunately, the demand for Meech Munchies was high, and they were hunted to extinction. |
Sekto , rip plz?
Does anyone have any information on the strange stone face you see on the start up screen of AO? To Sligger: They used the Meeches' extinction in AO to show how far the Glukkons were willing to harm the ecosytem in order to make profit. |
sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know how to create a new poll???
Forums Suggestions and Help is where to ask.
You create a poll by checking the little box on the reply page that asks if you wish to include a poll in your post, or something of that matter. |
Used, I refer you to this topic here:
http://oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=8387 Hope that helps. Ah, Niteowl. I remember you well. |
Thanks Max, from some closer observations, it looks like it has more to do with one of those Paramonian burial gates than a glukkon.

Hm, that opening screen guy always puzzled me what it was. I have three predictions on what it may be.
1. It was a pre pruduction character that was thrown off early in the game, because of it's irrealvence to the story. 2. Since Lorne wanted Squeek to be the first character in the OWQ, it could be something from that story line. And later when they were making AO, they thought that was pretty cool to have that guy in the opening screen, so they threw him in. 3. It could be something from mudokon's mythology that was going to be add, but also was decided not be included. |
I have another question. Does anyone have any idea why Mickey Mouse is on the time piece of the early design of the Brewmaster?
Because Farzad has a sense of humor.
It was a tribute wasn't it?
I asked a question about that stone figure years ago and never got an answer then either. I just concluded that the production designers came up with a mishmash of something that looked cool without giving anything away from the game. Possibly based on an earlier design that hadn't been used.
I think I asked alf but never got a response. |
I have a question. How can I find those other frog guys that were with the Grubbs? Not in the game, just a picture.
I think they are somewhere on the SW website.
The scuba toads (or Karate Blobs as I prefer)?
http://www.oddworldlibrary.net/togg/CA/SW/CASW0217.jpg Cool-looking critters were they. Here's a question, how much did we find out about them? |
:
All we really know about Scuba Toads is that they're big fans of Steef. They were going to row the Steef boat, and since there is Scuba Toad armour in Sekto's office, maybe they were going to be a big part of the resistence too. And they do Tai Chi. You could look at the Ark picture in the art book and conclude that they were driven to or from Mudos by industrialists. |
I don't have the art book :(
I keep telling myself to get it, but laziness is merciless. |
This has been asked plenty of times before, but I never really saw a good answer. How are the native Mudokon settlements and tribes kept alive if Sam is locked up?
Escaped slaves and Mudokons born from stolen Labour Eggs.
That was fast, easy, and simple. THANKS FEDEX!
Actually, even if Sam was free, how do the settlements support themselves in the long run with the only breeding individual miles away? Are Muds chosen at birth to go to different villages or what?
Mudokon settlements may be far-flung, but so are Magog factories, so there'll always be a nearby source of liberated slaves and eggs.
How is it that Sligs can walk in their machanical pants if they're not attached to the pants?
Their neural funtions are hooked up to the pants if I remember correctly. Or the pants are made to repond to certain tail movements.
:
I could never work out how they move their pants, but it makes sense that there are controls inside for the tail to work. |

Prior to the installation of Abe's Oddysee on the PC, there's a window which features the stone face in question. There used to be an image in the thread I linked to. Maybe it's still there.
Bloopsie, I got beated. |
Bloopsie?....................
I have been pondering more on the subject of that face, since it has a similar shape to those burial gates, do you think that glukkons may have quite possibly come from Paramonia? The temple there is believed to have been used by the Mudomos who were associated with the native Glukkons. |
:
I think it's because the mechanical pants just don't have the power or flexibility to be able to jump. Either that, or the slig is being weighted down by something.
i think they cant jump because there legs werent made for jumping if you had shocks or hidrolics they might be able to
Then how do you explain the Newscaster Slig jumping off his platform in the Brewery Info video form AE?
:
I think you're looking a little too deep into this.
Sligs in the old MO videos could climb ladders. That seems like a pretty tricky feat for such heavy legs.
:
Maby the pipe things in the eye thing that are conected to the pants are what allowes them to move.
