I have a feeling this is going to be canon in the story now as well... Are we going to start the game with 1 casualty? |

What events? When they were "hacked"? |
And OWI just got their account back to normal ha i never fell for those flyers soon as i saw the Magog Symbol knew straight away that was them "twisting the truth" i wonder if a slig wrote these on behalf of the cartel?
|
:
... would explain the grammatical errors though... |
:
Also good job everyone that got those images sorted, I was at work when they came out and I couldn't do a thing. :( |
Sligs are muscles, I wouldn't expect them to come up with something like that.
It would make much more sense to have been written by a Glukkon or even a Chronicler. :) |
I just can't believe those racist things I hear.
Way to give in to racial stereotypes! Especially that they're not true, as even in AE there was at least one slig behind the typewriter. |
:
|
Varrok takes people being racist to sligs very seriously.
|
:
|
Also I'm pretty sure a notice like this wouldn't be written and publish unsupervised so I'm sure a Glukkon or Vyker would have had a big say in what was written.
|
:
Also, we only see the Slig issuing some commands to open doors on those keys. I'm working with a keyboard all day long, that doesn't mean I'm a writer. :
|
Anyway, some people think that it could have been written by a Slig. It is indeed possible. Example:
:
|
Indeed, I agree with you, it is possible. There could be more Sligs like Crig that specialize in misinformation instead of armed security.
And gee does it feel weird to have an URL of your own site pushed in your face like that :D |
Sligs of news reports, of entertainment and now social media. What a day to be ALIVE :p
|
Do we really need Mudokons?
Sligs seem to be able to do anything! |
:
|
Muds are the embodiment of oddworld It is Truth! Without muds there would be no Quintology now that would be abominable to say.
|
I remember playing an excellent Oddworld game that had no Mudokons in it.
It was called Stranger's Wrath. |
There were Mudokon Pops in Stranger's Wrath HD!
|
:
Edit: Yeah AO is in the Eastern Mudos and Strangers Wrath is in Western Mudos. Source: http://oddworld.wikia.com/wiki/Mudos |

I was just disputing the claim Mudokons were "the embodiment of Oddworld". I'm not sure what your points are...
|
Regardless of who actually did the typing, you'd think they (or their bosses) would make a draft or something first to avoid spelling mistakes... Or perhaps the storm was getting too wild and they needed to get something out FAST ;)
Edit: Perhaps I should do my own drafting too hahaha |
You guys do realise that Oddworld's spelling and grammer has always been entirely arbitrary, right? For example, phone is spelled "fone", and the plural form of several (but not all) species uses a "z" instead of an "s", as in ratz or clakkerz. Many characters also speak with erroneous and perculiar annunciation.
If you use yer imagination, it's not hard to interpret these errors as a nothing more than a bit of odd flair that perfectly suits the minds of the Cartel. If I was an ARGer, I'd take a look at those inked-out words. They might be important. |
:
I had gone through the x'd out words earlier to see if anything jumped out, either with the missing/wrong letters or with the words themselves, but I didn't really see anything of note. Just in case it comes back later or if someone else can see something I might have missed though, here is what I got. (it was hard to make out a few of the letters due to the x's but I think these are right) x'd on left, corrected on right: Flyer 1: 'mins' -> 'minds' 'bland' -> 'blind' Flyer 2: 'thsnka' -> 'thanks' Flyer 3: 'undertaker' -> 'undertaken' 'least' -> 'last' |
Clean image is here:
Maybe it's just me but the structure and even some sentences of this article look strangely familiar ;) EDIT. I wonder why they skipped the part about the Malachim alphabet |
Those eyes in the reflection are creepy as hell...
