I agree. We don't exactly have a huge proportion of artists creating both Oddworld and Non-Oddworld art to warrant the two forums. Not anymore. Consolidation makes the most sense, especially with the state of the forums. Oddworld Art has almost become a joke unto itself, and outside of FennecFyre and JayDee, there's not a whole lot going on there, so I think a re-branding could help.

I feel like this merely shifts the problem. We should encourage both Oddworld and Non-Oddworld Art/Literature equally, and forging a unitary Creator's Corner would be the best bet, in my opinion.


Also, concerning Odd Piece of the Week, I'm thinking this thread should be released every Wednesday. Hump day seems as good as any other. If anyone has other ideas, please voice them!

That just adds further seperation between the people who want to make stuff, merging the two definitely seems like the better idea.

I think some kind of separation needs to exist so that people can find stuff easily - if there were a tagging system like in newer forum softwares, I'd be fine with that, but with what we've got I think using subforums will have to do. It's important to separate so people can find the stuff they're looking for - probably most people will be more interested initially in seeing fan works, so mixing them with original content would make it harder for people to find. I'm open to convincing though.

Speaking of which, any news on reorganizing from Nate? Xavier?

Concerning Fan Corner, either keep Non-Oddworld Art and Literature in the same Zulag, or merge it with Oddworld Art and Literature. Consolidate and simplify, don't partition them across the forums.

Considering we're bringing back some focus to the Fan Corner, perhaps we could benefit from another moderator? Unfortunately, Splat doesn't appear to be nearly as frequent as he used to be—I think he posted once last year when Fennec attempted to relight the forges of the RPG forum.

FennecFyre is a good and respected moderator on Discord. Plus she cares about fanarts. I think that makes her a perfect choice.

FennecFyre lacks certain power to be a moderator. She is too soft-spirited.

She banned the biggest number of users out there, actually. They were all multis. She's exactly the right kind of person for the job.

By the way, the ARG deserves its own subforum (as a quarantine measure).

I'd be down to help moderate Fan Corner, although I definitely support the idea of FennecFyre being a moderator aswell, and I don't think I can nominate myself.

I'd argue that the ARG is hindering other Oddworld discussions.

Other discussions can co-exist within the same subforum without reducing activity, though. One busy thread doesn’t take away traffic to the other threads.

I’d argue that creating a subforum to accommodate a one-off ARG campaign would be excessive partitioning – this is a temporary event, and the ARG discussion fits into Oddworld Discussion well without needing to be separated.

And yet "Oddworld Let's Plays and Speedruns" has its own subforums (with only 215 posts)...
