Yes, they aren't bad games, but I understand what he means : we are talking about nice little games. We dont expect too much from those. And if you complain, here is their answer : "people, we are indie, we don't have enough money". That's not the case for Mario, Sonic, Megaman, Donkey Kong, Oddworld (a long time ago), etc.

Another thing I liked about AO (and to be fair, AE too) was the H.R. Giger-esque influence in the general design. Paramites and Scrabs always seemed to have share similarities to the creature in 1979's Alien and I like the biomechanics of the Sligs. The fact surveillance gear and transport tended to resemble Glukkons also struck me of Giger's work, albeit, without the disturbing phallic overtones. EDIT: In addition, OW in general also kinda has the Ridley Scott "used future" vibe. |

I don't see anything wrong with depravity for depravity's sake. People hate on A Serbian Film for that reason without actually looking at it for what it is, and seeing that it's actually a really well-made film.

Gotta lot of catching up to do.
By "sligs kill me in one shot and bats dont" I dont mean bats dont kill u in NnT. U run through a bat on hard and youll be reduced to about 20% health by being in its hitbox for a quarter of a second. Bees are slower of course. On the topic of recent AAA platformers, rayman origins and legends. And while I appreciate oddworld being dark at times, Oddworld to me means an ODD world. Goofy, slapstick is more representative of the name to me than dark, atmospheric. |
