I watched a trailer for a magical girl comedy without being inclined to vomit.

As I posted in the Just Seen thread, I thought Arrietty was pretty boring. I liked it all the same though. It's very much a "kids" movie in that there's nothing too intense about it on any level, but I think if I saw it as a kid, I'd be bored to tears.

I am finishing off the first season of Code Geass currently, I've been watching it as a cheap alternative to drugs or hard liquor as a way to bring my brain back down to normal after frustrating and tiring days of doing my dissertation.

It's terrible.

It's the most popular recent (Non-shonen) anime in the west and by God it is awful. It's a big mass of stupid contrived shit, a huge Japanese wet dream, RACISM, RACISM EVERYWHERE and ridiculous plotting that puts the worst parts of Death Note to shame.

It's damn entertaining though, so at the very least it succeeds as a crowd pleaser, unlike Redline. It's just stupid and terrible.

I also hate the fact that the big emotional climax and plot twist basically relies on slapstick of all things. That's horrendously cheap.
