Apologies for the double post, but the latest updates for Stranger's Wrath and Munch's Oddysee are now live.
For Stranger, the update will download automatically when you restart Steam. For Munch, see this post from Stewart on the Steam forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...&postcount=305 :

Hi everyone. F.O.A., my pc is powerful enough, I have al the drivers and all the requirements. However, I'm experiencing a very curious bug in Stranger¡s Wrath.
////////////////SPOILERS AHEAD\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ When I am a steef and i begin to fight the wolvarks in the river dam level, then they shoot at me the shoot NOTHING at all. It happens there onward. I don't know what to do. I've searche everywhere for this problem and have found nothing. Any ideas / help? |

Curious. Once passed the dam sector, and rescue the friendly townsfolk you are given a new cool armor and begin a part of the game with a boat. There, the enemies shoot bullets instead of nothingness and you receive damage again. Everything seems normal here. I'll post again if I find more unexplicable bugs. LONG LIVE OUTWORD INHABBITANTS!! |
HOORAY FOR OUTWORD!
|
So is this guy a troll or what?
|
No, he's Spanish. And Kratos.
|
His 6 posts and blank profile fields do not reassure me.
|
What blank profile feeds? He's got his profile more filled out than I do.
|
Evidently he read my post.

So hey.
I'm trying to run Stranger's Wrath through Wine, and while I got the game up and running, and while I get sound during the menu and the cutscenes, I don't have any sound in the actual game. The mouse also doesn't work in the game, so I can't aim the camera at all. I'm using linux because I can't afford an idiot-proof OS for my partition (I still barely understand how to use linux) and couldn't code my way out of a paper bag, so if you need me to do something that involves more than downloading a file, like, patching or updating with winetricks, tell me how to do it in excruciating detail because otherwise I'll be wasting our time asking millions of "how do I do this or that" questions that are probably basic to you. So yeah. Thank you in advance. No rush, I got Mass Effect to work finally so I can occupy my tiny little mind with that while I wait. Mouse doesn't work, can't move the camera. Sound won't play at all in game. |
Good luck getting anything to run properly with Wine - In my experience, if it works, you're lucky - But if it doesn't, it's a pain in the arse and depends on so many damned variables. Shame really - I'd be using Linux otherwise.
|
It's never occurred them to create a user-friendly version for people who aren't computer geniuses?
|
Most of the people who need to use Wine are computer geniuses.
|
That's probably because they're the only ones that can.

I got a new laptop with an Intel HD card and now I can't run Stranger's Wrath. It'll show the loading screen, the steam community thing will pop up, then the screen will just freeze. I can hear and control the game, but I can't see anything.
EDIT: Actually, I seem to be having a similar issue for both 2D games. Oddysee gets frozen on the screen that has all the OWI info (whatever it's called, the black screen with the white letters, you know what I mean I never bothered to read it). Exoddus plays all the opening CGI fine, but after the transition into the main menu the screen freezes again. Both games can be played... If I was that one blind kid. |

If you're on Windows 7, you could try using the Compatibility Mode settings, but I don't know if that would help. |

None of the games you've named uses OGL (I guess), and no, it won't work on intel :/
|
:
You'll run into some real problems with games built on OpenGL - I have an Intel chip myself, and Stranger's Wrath, Amnesia, and other OGL games won't work. It's stupid, but it's Intel's fault, not JAW's. |
Hah, and amnesia is one of the games I wanted to buy and try out on my fancy new laptop. Ah well.

Stewart Gilray dropped some interesting info on the Steam forums, related to SW and MO's HD remakes: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...8&postcount=12

So they're working on Munch HD to run on PC and Mac, but they're still using DirectX?
Am I missing something really obvious here? |
Presumably the Mac version of Munch will be built on OGL, but the PC version will still be DirectX.

Excellent news on the GL stuff, since it doesn't look like stranger HD will be out for 360.
|
All games work great for me, except, im not sure why, but on stranger, i cant read the dialog options on menus ther just sribbled out squares and stuff? if you dont know what im talking about, ill post a pic later on this post.
|
It's a common bug, it should be fixed by either updating your ATI drivers (assuming you've got and ATI card) and/or disabling Catalyst A.I. in CCC options
|
How do i deactivate that? i dont see anything in the CCC wizard thing that would turn it off?
|
Sorry for doublepost but i need some help here lol :P
