Oddworld is a forgotten title to many gamers, and hopefuly these new games will revive oddworld ... and Lorne will probbably carry on with the quintolagy.
thats if these games are Hits ! |
Ah well, has it occurred to anyone that, even if the games are a huge success...very few people are going to understand the "quintology" concept unless they have played any of the previous games. The very old games. That have, as Puddiiin said, been forgotten by many. I see this as a slight complication, eh?

I gess but im verry pesamistic and im scered just incase the game will never come out

Awesome news! :D Finally..
Looking forward to these new games, etc. |

Yeah, half of what I know about Oddworld was never mentioned once in the games themselves. It makes me wonder if we should still consider it canon now that someone else is working on the series.

I've considered that a lot of people must have forgotten-or more or less put aside the oddworld games and got on with their lives. If OWI and whatever companies it's working with want to make a comeback, they need to make one hell of a bang that will land them on the cover of a game magazine, especially if they want to attract a new crowd and bring the oldies back in, panting on their knees.
It also make me wonder if OWI just doesn't have the funds to independantly develop a game on their own if the desired. |
What? OWI never had the funds to independently develop a game, that's not how it works. OWI was a small development company, they've always gotten their funding from their publishers.

Great news! This is much more promising than previous anouncements, due to JAW being on board and making claims about something new being announced/released very soon.
A couple of thoughts. One of Abemudokon's tweets was: :
Secondly, in the VG247 interview there was this part: :

J.A.W. is developing the game, but Lorne and his team will still be responsible for the conceptual part of the process (or so I imagine). The art and story. |

I'd be very surprised if Lorne wasn't hands-on for any part of the creative development. He's always worked very closely with his design team. I can't envision him passing the torch to someone else.

AE definitely was setting his return up. I was convinced we hadn't seen the last of him after the line...
"Mullock's gonna be pissed. If he ever comes back we're screwed." It struck me as odd because he was clearly dealt with in AO, so the Glukkon's clearly knew something we didn't if they considered him "gone" or "missing" rather than "dead". Clearly. |

I like that he's attached to the set.
|
Well, I was being subtle about it lol. Ah, but that would be interesting if they put it in a game, wouldn't it? I would be more interested to get Sam involved. Maybe it would finally answer the question as to why Abe's lips are stitched up, since I have heard at least three explanations...

He's only saying MO sucks because the cool kids said it first. MO only sucks if you compare it to what it could have been.
|
MO is my least favorite of the console Oddworld games, but it was still a good video game and it still had that Oddworld flare that I love so much.

I enjoyed it very much when it first came out, probably the only launch title I enjoyed. I admit it hasn't aged well, but I go back and play it every now and again.
|
I only played it once. I was disappointed in it, but I didn't hate it.
