My friend has been looking for SotC for a long time, as his parents don't trust Ebay. Whilst he's been looking, 2 copies of Jade Cocoon 2 have come into my possession. Both from gaming shops. I also saw 2 other copies, but I thought 2 was already excessive.

I'm looking forwards to brink. 8 player online co-op with friends would be fun. Also, the SMART movement looks nice. (The vid is a bit old, but it only just came to my attention.)

ahh... right! I forgot Brink on my list :). Movement system is pretty interesting. It can create very dynamic gameplay.

I may be three months too late to add on to this but I thought I'd attempt to clear up what I think is one of the biggest confusions of the Sonic series.

So here it goes, this may be long, boring, give you brainache and cause more confusion but lets give it a shot. I'll try to explain the three incarnations of Robotnik/Eggman in the sonic Universes in the breifest ways possible.

Universe A (the Megadrive games + Sonic 4):
One day Dr Julius Kintobor was trying to make Mobius a better place, Sonic and Kintobor met, stuff happened, Sonic became fast. Days later Kintobor was working on a machine that was creating both the energy rings and the chaos emeralds which were designed to contain the evil on Mobius. Sonic was hungry and found a rotten egg in Kintobor's fridge he gave it to the Dr causing him (Kintobor) to lose concentration and mistype a code into the machine. The machine exploded and Kintobor fused with the rotten egg and an unstable Chaos Emerald and reversed his name to Robotnik.
I don't know how he becomes known as Eggman but my guess is Sonic uses it as a nickname and Robotnik keeps it.

Universe B (the first sonic Anime 'english version'):
Robotnik was always Robotnik and everyone related to him looks like him, including his mother. I'm sure most of you know this one.

Universe C (round about everything else, Sonic X, Sonic Adventure, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic the Comix, ect ect ect):
The most complex one of all. Robotnik was created the same way as Universe A except he wasn't given the nickname Eggman and Sonic was always fast/blue. In this universe Dr Robotnik is much more evil and sociopathic (this universe, mainly the comics get really dark in places.)

One day Robotniks nephew Dr Snivelly Kintobor (who is also evil) comes up with a plan to kill Robotnik by sabotaging Robotniks Invention that attacks any targeted individual by removing their molecular structure. Snivelly suceeds and the Invention turns on Robotnik but instead of killing him Robotnik is tranported to an alternate Mobius. In this Mobius the alternate Robotnik was severly injured by a previous invention and rebuilt himself as a robot which had the ability to turn any living thing into a Robot by touching them (Robo-Robotnik). Due to this the alternate Mobius was under Robo-Robotniks complete control and the two Robotniks began to create a machine to transfer Robotnik back to his own dimension.

During this a mysterious advanced race appeared, took the two Robotniks and Sonic+Tails (from the original Mobius), turned Robo-Robotnik into a human and Sonic+Tails into robots for an experimental "Flesh vs Machine"
The Robotniks won and Sonic+Tails were transformed back and they were all sent to their original dimensions. Robo-Robotnik (now human) became bored of his position and began to yearn the rivalry he had against Sonic, so he finished the invention both Robotniks were working on and transported himself to the original Mobius. On arriving he found that the original Robotnik had been killed, blaming the death on Sonic he changed his name to Eggman and swore revenge.

Phew finally done. I think I need to go lie down.

I hear Final Fantasy XIV is in Beta now and is going to be released in Japanese, French, German and English simultaneously. So that might be out even in the UK soon.

Sonic Adventure, Shadow the Hedgehog are part of the main series. Snivelly Kintobor was only the comic and SatAM.

Robotnik is called Eggman because sonic made fun of his portly size. Eggman since adopted this name.

I feel must explain that Universe B is the SatAM series and I used it as a seperate universe because the characters' backstories don't match up with the canonical and non-canonical universes of Sonic.

I disagree, Sonic 1-4 + Knuckles, spinball ect are still counted by Sonic Team as the main series. The newer games are linked and are continued by the comics (which were originally created as advertisements for the megadrive games) as well as the series Sonic X. My guess is the comics made more money then the megadrive games... But I really do wish that Sonic Adventure ect were part of the main series. In an ideal world Sonic Team will come up with a way to link them all together, but I think the Sonic timeline has been screwed beyond repair.

Comics and TV are not Game cannon. The Kintobors don't appear in the games.

I just remembered that Sonic X falls into the same trap I did during the Sonic Adventure 2 arc It explains that they all come from Mobius (even Eggman) however when the series reaches the Sonic adventure parts it explains that Eggmans great grandfather is from earth. which makes no sense.

In Conclusion lets say for Robotnik's name becoming Eggman

Comic Canon: see universe C in above post

Game Canon: Sonic calls Robotnik "Eggman" and Robotnik adopts the name

TV Canon: Same as Game Canon

Because almost all the 3D Sonic games are complete rubbush. theres a massive hype about them and it always has a catch with them that makes them shit.

however if its like the Day Time Stages of Sonic Unleached, it might be alright. That game got it almost got it right but the Werehog let it down a lot.

Team Fortress 3 should take place in the 80's and have a map called Radlands.

It was originally being developed as a pc game, but has switched to being Live Arcade exclusive. They have not announced a release date. Do most Live Arcade games get awesome websites before release?

I don't own a Wii, but I would buy Sonic Colors just for this.
