Ahhh, nice assortment. Although Outkast takes takes the cake. :p
|
It always cracks me up how much europeans love our most violent form of music and then talk shit about how violent America is.
|
:
Not to mention you're stereotyping. And don't try and argue that you aren't. |
What is "violent" music?
|
I don't think there is such thing as "violent" music. It's just how you interpret it.
EDIT: I'm annoyed I missed the argument going on earyler. But i'm agreeing with OANST. Modest Mouse are Fucking good and have much more originality then metal bands. Metal bands may sound cool and flashy but how many have done it before? Loads. If you've heard one solo then you have heard them all. Modest Mouse on the other hand have changed with each album. Just try and compare Float On to Beachside Property without thinking they are different bands. EDIT.2: :
And if a band stayed the same for every album, you'd get bored of them right? Thats why I love bands like Radiohead and Modest Mouse and Blur, they evolve so much. You appreciate different music style too which is a good bonus. |
I think I want to have your children.
|
I love country. I'm a redneck, country girl.
|
Would I get bored if a band kept on producing quality music in the same vein as their first work? Hell no. Thats what I want. But enough of this, people say I'm crazy when I say this but if you want to hear some good rap from whiteys start with House of Pain. Dead 'effin' serious, great rap band.
Anyhow, thats one of those bands that are "guilty pleasures." Something that if somebody would go "So, what type of music do you like?" you'd say sheepishly and then have to defend yourself. Anyhow, here are some others that I've caught heat for Cheesy power metal/prog bands like Edguy, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Savatage, Iced Earth, Rhapsody. New Wave bands like Sword, Quartz, Saxon, even Judas Priest, Helloween, and Iron Maiden! Supersuckers Del the Funky Homosapien. Remember, confession is good for the soul. |
I like any kind of rock music, but would play any. Music is a great way of taking anger or stress out for me. The band I have playing right now on my mp3 player is Tool 10000 days. Its great.
|
Music is great for any kind of mood problems. Just choose the right kind and listen.

As for me, one singer that pisses me off majorly is Bjork. Just the sound of that snivelly voice makes me want to puke.

Muse, anybody? How about RJD2? |
I've been a fan of Muse for some time. I got their new album Black Holes And Revelations and it's not bad at all! Though lacking the punch of the previous Absolution it might just be their best yet.
I don't see anything wrong with Bjorks voice. It's well suited to what she sings. Though I havn't heard all that much, but Army of Me is a fantastic song. www.fearofmusic.com - Thats who you should all listen to. |
What are you listening to now if anything? I'm starting to listen to a lot more of the Dio stuff I got now. I've been spinning Rainbow albums and Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell a lot recently. Yeah, Yeah, Dio Sabbath, blah blah blah. Still a damn good album.
|
If you peoples like Muse, you may like Anathema. Theys have some good stuff. Just steer clear of the first few albums, as they were trying to get out of doom metal.
|
You can look in my sig to see what I am listening to at the moment!
|
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS! Rock on.
|
Only just gotten into them. Great Summer band.
EELS! Now there is a good band, anyone agree? |
YES! Yes I fucking do! How did we end up with the same exact musical taste? Very weird but cool to meet someone else with good taste in music.
By the way, Electro Shock Blues is the Eels masterpiece. If you don't have it get it next. |
YES! YES! YEESSS!!!!!
I had no idea anyone else on here liked the Eels! Sweeeeet. I'm a big fan of Souljacker and Shootenanny, both great albums. Blinking Lights and Other Revelations, though, seemed a bit lackluster in my eyes, although the Other Shoe and Going Fetal are great tracks. Electroshock Blues, you say? I shall pick it up. And I'll check out Anathema. Garoovy. |
I think the problem with Blinking Lights was that it was too long with too little variety. There were definitely some great songs on there but I'm not sure if that material warranted a double album.
Life is hard and so am I. |
My favourite band is still Pantera.
God bless Dimebag Darrel, i miss you every day and i didn't even know you. Just prooves how much music can have an impact on people. |

|
I think Pantera is a big steaming pile of sell out. That doesn't mean the music sucks, you can sell out and still be a great band. It just blows my mind that a band can go from touring with Skid Row and singing songs with titles like "Power Metal" and "Ride My Rocket" to something like Vulgar Display of Power and touring with Anthrax. They had 4 full length albums as a power/hair metal act, Dimebag used to be Diamond for crying out loud. Its like they're two totally different bands.
|
Any Wu-Tang fans in here? Liquid Swords, Tical, Return to the 36 Chambers, Ironman and on and on and on. So much good stuff from those people.
Edit: Honorable mention for Only Built for Cuban Linx. |
:
Now playing: Muse - Assassin I'm on my first listen to the new album, it's kicking my ass so far. It seems a lot more cohesive than Absolution. |
I only have Beautiful Freak Eels wise, and a couple of songs off other albums. But I shall get Electro-Shock Blues next!
And yeah Fax, the new Muse album isn't too shabby at all! |
I'm gonna try it again.
Steve Miller Band, anybody? Rush? Zappa? Beastie Boys? Does anybody listen to these bands or have an opinion or are you just going to continue to talk about the Eels without me? Anyhow, Fax, I bought a Muse album and it was pretty damn good. Absolution, I think. |
Diamond Head?
King Diamond? King Crimson? Anybody? ANYBODY??? This thread is dead. Give me 50 CCs of crank and my defibrillators! Clear! BZZ! Clear! BZZ! He's dead, Jim. |
