Seriously peoples, do we really need to discuss this any further? This is just a blatantly immature piece of one-upmanship which makes both sides look bad.
|
Yay! Finally someone who wants to close this discussion/arguement/whatever..... Lets just go back to our normal posting-habits :-)
|
Agreed on. It has been discussed enough now, yes?

Yeah... I'm starting to miss the original goal of my thread. Too bad that never took off. *shrug*

How about when that chick posted pictures of herself in her underwear? Or was that already covered?
And to give props to the mod thing about Wired, I thought this was pretty funny: :

Now that was fun. :D I just loved that. If only someone would have a superextremist attitude to it, we might've had another week of fun controversy.

/what was the purpose of the Wired thing, anyhow? I just want an explanation that doesn't involve bastardizing and all that other good stuff that should be left to abortion threads. |
Wired was an account created for multiple people from The Mausoleum to use to post in on OWF and give the impression that it were Reese Charles. He also had a 'multiple personality disorder' to explain the variance from post to post.
Dipstikk let slip the information of who it really was to someone and word started getting around. Dipstikk was banned from TM. He avenged this by making it very open on OWF who Wired was and what TM was. Public outcry ensued and certain members wanted to overthrow any mods who went to TM. There were tears and catfights. I was disappointed Wired was discovered so early, as I hadn't yet posted as him. |

From that first thread, there was someone here with Bjork as an avatar and I never saw them! NO!!!!
Still, my history of Oddworld was mainly not being here. After quickly getting over newbie-n00bish tendancies, everything seemed fine. I was on dial-up and avoided the big threads due to loading time, but everything was fine'n'dandy. Then I went dormant. I think there was another active time for me, but I went dormant again I came back and everyone seemed a bit more... "aw, **** it". It seemed like the rules were less strict. A lot of high-ranking people had left {like Hobo} and a LOT of people were tip-toeing around some "Rule NAZI"-style thing that Alcar did (which I still have no idea of since I probably wans't here when it happened). I came back to people all-out preaching their religion, rather than just stating a belief {which is the socialy acceptable thing to do} and a lot of accounts/users that HAVE to be jokes. Seriously, if I actualy started to believe 3 particular accounts on here are not controled by people haveing a laugh it would take the human race down quite a few pegs IMO. Hmm... I guess that's the more macabre side of OWF's past. But then again, OddChat used to be active. And in that time, I was there, RPing with the rest of them {which usualy involved violence}. Heck, I remember when we blew up the world and a Mod had to transport us all to a moon to continue talking... and fighting. |
Just my tuppence as I'm swinging by...

TGA was all right for a while but there's only so many times you can discuss things like "isn't it disgusting when girls don't shave their legs!" especially when there's no new blood coming in - I mean, it wasn't a fan site, it was essentially just a pretty-looking place for friends to swap ideas across timezones. :P I only used it as a place to post my art, and since most of my friends from TGA are on devART I don't exactly miss it. Syd shut it down because she was tired of the stupidity there, I think (as evidenced by Max's mention of the Stonage Repository. The name says it all. :P ;)) ...yay. |
I came in during the UBB period, if my memory is correct. Part of the big MO newb influx. May pity be given to those who read my posts, as I was a bad, [i]bad[/b] poster. For all intents and purposes, I credit soley this board with beating into me an unshakable sense of grammar that holds over to Aim and MSN, and for that I am grateful. But alas, time has pushed me past my peak involvement. I don't see how people like Luke have kept up for so long; honestly, it boggles my mind.
