Well, until we agree on a date for the joint exploration of the stronghold, we could build a smaller base near to it, and a pathway leading there from Ma'Spa. We will probably need a place where we can prepare or restock before all the adventuring.

Returning to the subject of the stronghold exploration, I located the approximate position of the Ender portal (on ground level, of course, I haven't actually seen it) by using an Eye of Ender. The stronghold is under a huge forest, apparently, and I saw no legit entrance to the place. There are huge cave systems in the vicinity, but none of what I've been in are connected to it.

So I dug down, and after hitting a cave, I heard the sounds of zombies breaking down doors. I took it as a good, albeit ominous, sign, and after some searching I located a broken stone brick block.

So it seems we have ourselves a stronghold to explore. I marked the path leading to this particular block, and built an entrance to the tunnel I dug down there. As I have said before, I'm also planning to build a shelter nearby where we can bring the essentials for our grand exploration of the stronghold and, eventually, The End. Stockpiling arrows, food and Eyes of Ender is probably a good idea for those who want to come along. I suppose it's a bit early to set out a date for the actual exploration yet, let's kit ourselves out first.

So are we aiming for the Enderdragon kill going to be the same day as the Stronghold exploration?

I'd be inclined to suggest doing it in three parts. The first to explore the stronghold. The second to enter the End and destroy the healing things on top of the pillars. And the last to kill the dragon.

You can't leave the End except by killing the dragon or dying, so once we're there we might as well keep going and kill it.

By the way, I move to New Zealand on the 19th and will have limited power and dialup. Will we be able to do it before then?

We're moving to the middle of nowhere. We'll only have a generator, and maybe solar power later on.

We can get broadband there and probably will at some point but I don't know how fast it will be.

The Longhouse of the Dragonslayers is now ready to house warriors of the End. It's located above the stronghold - relatively unfurnished, but there are plenty of beds and some wheat outside.

Satellite broadband? I know my cousins that only live an hour out of Adelaide had to do that.

EDIT: for me Telstra Clear's Broadband 15mb/s downstream is actually 1-2mb/s download speeds and around 2mb/s upload rate, and that's if you are lucky. But if you get 120GB (which is expensive) you'll get better speeds but I don't know what the rates are.

Well I was meant to go to bed early last night but Wil and Darkhoodness kept me up on the server :tard: It's amazing how the Zelda Dispenser can entertain us for about 40 minutes.

I'm half-inclined now to set up the old server again so that the children/child-spirited can have their fun with creative mode and item/mob spawning in a controlled environment.

About the strategy bit. When you destroy the crystals, they explode causing everyone to fall to their deaths. I think shooting them with an arrow from the ground would be the safest way to destroy them.

Unless that was the implied.

I also had the idea of converting the portal room into a bed/spawn room before the fight so we won't have to find our way back.

PS: I want to collect that Dragon Egg, maybe make a public shrine out of it. So no one punch it or anything. >.>

Ah, I didn't know they couldn't be destroyed by hand/could be destroyed by arrows. But some a pretty high...

Egg has to be shunted with a piston.

Yeah, missph does all the garden stuff. Shit got real when I had to dig some up for a piston door installation. Lets just say I was glad I brought a speed potion.

Their garden is amazing. Missph should open a gardening shop in town where people can pay for her services.
