The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. To be travelling south you want the sun to be travelling across the sky from your left to your right.
|
Your new compound is also far south of Ma'Spa.
I'll check out the tower Edd. As long as you counted right, it'll be right, probably. Thanks dude. |

1.2 is due to be released tomorrow. Do you know how long we can expect Bukkit to take to support it, Havoc?
|
I have no idea. They are working more closely with Mojang now but they cleaned up the code in Bukkit to better support 1.2. As a result a lot of the plugins MIGHT not work from the start and have to be updated by the developers of those plugins.
So yeah I couldn't begin to give you an estimate, unfortunately. |
I think I heard they started work on updating their code a couple of weeks ago - Hopefully that means we won't have to wait as long.
|
Well that's good. Last time we had to wait ages to play on the server again :(
|
I said hopefully. :P This time you should probably hold off updating until Bukkit is updated - Or at least keep your 1.1 .jar file. However that may not work this time around if 1.2 will change the way savegames are made.

Now that my mountain retreat is back on the map, I’ve gotten back to my supplies and donated three full redstone stacks to the Feeco project. You’ll find them in the formerly empty chest.
e: Also thank you everybody who tried to help me find my way. Unfortunately my sense of direction is completely fucked; I wound up in Exoddus twice, ended up lost in the wilderness several times, and drowned myself out of frustration at least three times until Havoc led me to the place by the nose. I also saw an amazing rabbit warren of caves and mountains at one point. Looked like someone had explored it as there were a few torches around, but no buildings. Anyone know what I’m on about? |
I can think of two or three possibilities.
Ma'Spa Depot now has an interior and can function as a station. It's not finished, but it's working. |

EDIT: This was really fun. :) We re-set everything so others can follow the clues. Well done for whoever did this! :D It may be even more fun for those who don't know the server very well. |
I don't get it?
|
Random signs were found in Ma'Spa opposite the inn yesterday afternoon.
|
Tried this this morning. I got as far as the signs under a largely glass building in Genesis and got sent to "The centre of exodus" which A. is a place that doesn't exist (unless he meant search the Bible and the prize is salvation, which would be fair enough, but assuming this isn't the case...) and B. is so unbelievably vague that I don't know where to begin. There's a massive abandoned mine down there crossed by several chasms, and a vast cave system, not to mention our own many-and-sundry diggings. There are loads of entrances to that, and none of it is fully lit or explored.
So I've given up until further notice. EDIT: It's still too vague but I've found it now. EDIT2: Given up again - been walking around getting nowhere down there for 20 minutes. |
Iron Golems would be handy in Exoddus to stop the random zombie/skeleton attacks.

Craftbukkit 1.2.3 Beta has been released. The Beta versions are kind of the new Recommended Builds. Minor bugs might still be around, but it should be stable.
I could update the server now, only issue is that some of the plugins we use might not be compatible yet. I know that the Stargate plugin is no longer supported, so if that breaks with this update we lose it forever. Other plugins will take some time to be updated. In this case I also can't go back to a previous version because 1.2 changes the way worlds are saved. So I thought I'd run this past you all. Update the server now with the chance of it breaking (backed up, obviously). Or waiting until the most important plugins have been updated? |
Apparently Stargate works with 1.2.3 . Not sure about other plugins though. Which ones do we use/need and have updates for?
|
The only plugins on the server I know of are Stargate and the AFK thing. Unless the trading thing that was put in Exoddus is still being used?
|
Essentials has a Dev build out for 1.2.3 I think, but so far I haven't been able to download it. The trading is part of Essentials, as are a lot of the ingame commands. Stargate and Essentials are by far the most important ones though, but it looks like that's all covered.
Nice find BTW, Dark. I was unaware they had continued that project elsewhere. |
Server’s lagging pretty badly for me right now. Lost 2 picks, 2 buckets and 60 torches because reconnecting decided to spawn me buried underground and then kill me.
|
I don't want to try connecting to it then if that happened. I remember me carrying a load of Diamond gear last time I went on.
|
Other people were online at the time so it may just have been my connection. I’m not sure.
e: Seems to be working fine now. |
Not working on my end. The logging in process just goes on until "it took too long to log in". I'll look into it later if it persists.
|
Dripik - The server hasn't yet been updated. Downgrading your client to 1.1 still works - Also it looks to be fine my end, no lag or anything.
|
Mine was playing fine last night. Did notice you dying a lot though; maybe it was you net connection?
|
Uggghhh
Thanks to some dodgy WiFi, I managed to get set on fire by lagging lava dozens of times, and lost a bunch of obsidian and a diamond pick. At one point I actually was standing several blocks back and trying to figure out how to divert the flow, when suddenly OH LOOK YOU DIED AND ALL YOUR LOOT IS BURNING SEVERAL FEET AWAY |
Server has been updated to Craftbukkit 1.2.3-R0.1 (Beta). Aside from a few glitches (some doors got messed up apparently), everything seems to be working, including the stargates. I'll be updating to newer builds as much as possible. Jungle biomes SHOULD spawn in newly generated chunks and won't need a new world. So get out there and start exploring. |
Just went exploring for about 20 mins (happened to go past rupture farms), then one of us fell in a 20 block wide gap into nothingness. I then fell in as well into another one about a minute away. Couldn't stop cause we were in boats and you cant hop out when you're speeding through the water. Fun times
|
Yeah there's a few of those around... you should be able to fill them up with blocks though.
|
I tried to make a house on top of the Nether but then I realised you can't place water there.
I guess I'll have to make one in the End instead. |

Hey kitty kitties! Took about half an hour to find the biome, 45~ mins to find enough ocelots to make 1 of each kind (which turned out to be 4, but i accidentally killed my 2nd ginger one while slaughtering a pig :'( RIP kitty) and another 45 mins to lead the little buggers back. Worth it. |
Did you get the coords of the jungle?
|
My adventure map is taking many of the times :(
Also, I may have stumbled into someones mine. If it's not abandoned I'm very sorry. If anyone is in their mine and stumbles upon some mental looking areas, please don't explore as you'll spoil the surprise. Any diamonds I find whilst I'm down there will be supplied to you once I'm done. |
:
|
To be fair Jungle biomes now seem to be quite common in 1.2.
|
EDIT: Oops, accidental double-post.
I wasn't there but I just found this in the log just now. Glad to know he hasn't forgotten about us! :
|
That guy is just so strange, He thinks he is a character from Shadow of Israphel or something.
Also the bit where I said "oh dear", He just blew up. :tard: |
Anyone know who's is that little tower between mine and havoc's place? I think it's changed since last time i was on but there's no paths or signs to hint at who's it might be.
|
That may be mine. Is there a problem?
|
I'm not too familiar with that area. In fact, I haven't been able to be on much lately, despite that I'd really like to play again (work and studies get in the way nowadays).
It would be cool to do one of those group adventurings/building projects/etc. again. Weren't we about do something about our stronghold problem? There is a stronghold in our world now, right? |
