I love The Birds. The short story is even scarier IMO.

I took Abbey to see Ponyo. It is much better than the trailer makes it out to be. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and Abbey loved it.

I feel your pain. I made the mistake of seeing Spiderman 3 by myself.

I went and saw it with a my friend Joseph. We were absolutely bewildered at the end and couldn't really make conversation.

Explain why?

Fucking District 9. Go see this movie if you have not, it is easily the best movie of the year thus far. From the action to the thought provoking scenes everything is almost perfectly executed. This movie is so damned amazing.

I was so impressed, I can't even explain it. EVERYTHING was good. The effects were absolutely fantastic in a completely non "Hi I'm Micheal Bay and I have money" sort of way. Movie of the fucking year.

My only issue, not so much a complaint as sheer curiosity is the lightning gun. They really liked showing us the effect it had on people.

When Christopher and the main character Wikus (Christopher is the Alien) storm the MNU facility to get the cylinder, the body that Christopher examines is his friend that the MNU mercenary shot.

The last MNU merc probably gets the most appropriate and satisfying death of the movie : Just as he's about to shoot an exhuasted Wikus, The Aliens surround him. He shoots two of them then gets his head crushed. They tear him apart and eat him.

Go see District 9. Right fucking now.

I fucking love how the last Merc is killed. After the mech fails, Im thinking fuck, this guy better die. When all the Prawns come in and fuck him up it was a fuck yeah moment. Same when Mikus and Chris are breaking into MNU, seeing them finally fight back and win was awesome. Loved when Mikus got the mech, fucked everyone up. Speaking on the more serious stuff, I just couldn't tell how it would end. I thought for sure that Mikus, Chris, and/or the kid Prawn were going to die. So many tense points, and you really feel for the aliens. Special effects were amazing, especially for a $30 mil budget.

God, this movie is amazing, Im already making plans to see it yet again.

The Smuggler death was just weird. The mech fired a soup can on a string into his head and then he exploded? It was weird, but fuck yeah it still kicked ass.
Yes. He basically said "I cannot top this, have some money." Neil Blomkampf also made a Halo short film with a shoestring budget that looks absolutely gorgeous.
I was positive they were going to kill Wikus , and have Chris return pissed as hell.

Yeah, the ending was good in a weird way, and it leaves a lot of things unanswered, but in a good way.
