I've started getting back into Final Fantasy XIII. It has a beautiful storyline and graphics but ... Not too crazy over the gameplay. There hardly is any. It's like watching a movie.
|
No. MGS4 was like a fucking movie.. Chapter 3 was about half cutscene. I watched about 45 minutes of nonsensical crap before I skipped the cutscene at the end. I don't get why Hideo thinks he can pull that crap.
I've been playing a bit of MGS1 on my PS3. I skipped the cutscene after you defeat Grey Fox once Otacon started rambling about anime and the history of giant biped robots. I fucking hate MGS sometimes. |
The MGS games work better as Let’s Plays than actually playing them.

I just found my Pokemon Gold cart and turns out it cannot save the game anymore. I've had that game for 10 years now...sad times...
|
I enjoyed Twin Snakes, 2, 3, Peace Walker. Never had a chance to play 4 but... watching the Let's Play was kinda like playing anyway so I don't mind that.
Recently I've been on a Dragonball Z binge with DBZ Legendary Super Warriors, Ultimate Budoten and DBZ The Legend on PS1. Kamehamehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. |

I'd seen the Otacon cutscene before, so I knew that the informative part was over by that point.
In MGS4 I just got sick of listening to Liquid ramble on after 40 minutes. |
How on earth could you get sick of Liquid Snake's voice?
|
I think you mean Liquid Ocelot who is voiced by the guy who voiced Revolver Ocelot and not Cam Clarke (unless you mean the japanese version)
|
Well, atleast MGS4 had the excuse of having to tie-up all the loose ends created by the ending of MGS2. I just thought it was lazy how [ spoiler ] they just dismissed the thing after the credits of mgs2 about the Patriots being dead for 200 years as a lie [ spoiler ] and [ spoiler ] the whole thing with Liquid's arm just didn't lead to anything, I always thought it had something to do with the nanomachines that were in Liquid Snake's body [ spoiler ] but NOO this time nanomachines had nothing to do with it. As much as I felt that MGS4 was a thrilling and ceremonious conclusion to the series, it was obvious that Kojima pulled a lot of it right out of his butt.
I'm playing Sly 2 and I love it so far; although I'm not crazy about the addition of a health bar, the lucky horseshoes in Sly 1 reminded me of the tiki masks in Crash Bandicoot. The lack of endurance suited Sly's character better and forced you to be stealthy |
There's a spoiler tag on OWF by using [ spoiler ]

Oh thanks, I forgot how to do it. I would fix my above post but I would have to move the text into the brackets and I can't copy and paste on the computer I'm using atm.
I was also recently playing Sonic Generations which was great (except Crisis City Zone) but way too short and I'm sure when it inevitably becomes a DLC trap, I'll happily fall into it. |

After an epicly long WRC2 endurance, I've reached 6th on the world XP leaderboard :)
But today I decided to try and get some Rayman Origins done, the difficulty level was a reminder as to why I stopped playing this game in the first place... |
Rayman Origins isn't that difficult. Well, if you're going for the 100% completion on every level then it's a pain in the ass.
|
Some of the levels in the last world had challenging bits. JG, don't play Super Meat Boy!.
100% is just so fucking tedious. Playing a level to find every last lum normally takes me 10-30 Minutes. when I have to repeat that because I'm < 10 short of the last electoon I get fairly annoyed. Speedruns take just as long. I've all but given up on that game for now. I'm playing it infrequently, when I can be arsed. I'll get there one day... |

I'm no god, it's just not that difficult (imo). I, too, am struggling to get all the levels to 100%. I'm missing just two achievements in the game, one for completing all the time trials and one for 100%ing every level.

Had Timesplitters arrive in the post today, I paid one british penny for it 1p.
I totally fell in love with this game instantly when it first came out but boy, I do not think it has aged well, it seems to feel like such a bare game now that we have Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters Future Perfect, but I'm still getting some enjoyment out of it. I can't help that feel that being a PS2 launch title, the game probably didn't turn out as great as it could have been, but still a very enjoyable game. |
I Just got into Assassins Creed Revelation. And unlike botherhood, I really enjoy this one. :D

Dragon Age: Awakenings.
After Dixanadu told me about the super hard, frustrating and optional boss the Lady of the Marsh and how it took all his wits and skill to knock the cunt down I hunted it down. I was excited, finally, a challenge in the relatively easy world of being a totally 'roided, super leveled cunt my Warden was going to be properly tested after that shitty excuse of a Pride Demon. "The Lady of the Marsh (A big fucking electric dragon) we finally meet. Now taste the cold steel of my bl... is that it?" Not the easiest boss in Awakenings, so far, but definitely not something I would consider a challenge. Even whenever she split into the little electric balls and I had to try and obliterate her before they connected I wasn't particularly worried about not killing her in time. I could have went through that entire process over and over again. I need to play more Dark Souls to appreciate easy bosses I think. |
:
On the other hand, pretty much everything else in Dark Souls is extremely hard. There are annoying traps and ambushes in certain places, parrying enemies and fucking Tomb of The Giants, gah. Anyways, I ordered AC: Revelations's Collector's Edition because it was on sale. Looking forward to playing that next week. |
I tried Ace of Spades to see what the fuss was about. It's a really cool idea, an there's lots of potential for some fun gameplay. The public servers seems a bit chaotic, sadly. I know the leader of one of the good clans, so hopefully that will be my ticket to better games.

Age of Empires II : The Conquerors Expansion.
I really wish they had AoE II on Steam with full Steam support. Servers the lot. I miss muiltplayer which died along with Microsoft Zone |
started up Magicka
no-one speaks english check and recheck language settings spend ten minutes online looking for source of error oh feel like an idiot |
I hven’t played Magicka so I may need an explanation. Unless the characters all speak Simlish or something?
On-topic, I bagged every Sonic Generations achievement today, although there’s still a bunch of extra shit to do. I don’t have the patience to compete in the leaderboards, but I’m proud to be within the top 500 for one level. |
