It will be free soon enough. I wouldn't pay £25 to get into the beta though. Especially not when you can possibly get in for free.

It is an enjoyable game though. Terrible community for the most part.

Isn't that true of almost everything right now? the Diablo 3 forums are my favourite at the moment, because I die a little inside every time I visit them. Same goes for the Realm of the Mad God forum.

Speaking of Diablo, I'm playing Titan Quest - the game for people who don't want to play DIII on principle but don't think Torchlight II looks shiny enough.

Have you heard of Grim Dawn? It's a new game by the people behind Titan Quest. It looks really good.

I can't take anything with the word "Grim" in it seriously. Especially if it says "Grim dark". I'm right out at that point.

What about the Grim Reaper?

He gets a pass because the idea of the Grim Reaper existed long before the "grim" fad began in the fantasy genre.

In the grim darkness of the grim dark future there is only grim darkness.

Or Grim Fandango?

Well there the "Grim" is a reference to Manny's occupation.

That also predates the fad, and is about the Grim Reaper. Acceptable.

I got the demo last night. I really liked it.

Thought you might. Hopefully it's hard enough; It certainly feels that way to me.

I don't have the money to buy it right now, but I'll be getting it soon.

In other news, I've just played a few rounds of the beta for Shootmania Storm, or as they would have it, ShootMania StOrm.

It's bouncy, bloodless fun. Shoot laser blobs, make men evaporate. Get hit twice, die, respawn 3 seconds later, hit space and sprint to the front. Nice graphics.

Sadly, the maps are awful; then again, the final game will be based on user-created ones.

It's really too simplistic to have much of an opinion on further than that.
