Well that could be the eventual release date. But according to bungie, they have stated time and time again, that they will release Halo 2 when it is finished, and when it is perfected to their expectations, and our own.

I think thats Microsofts tentative release date for now. It could be right, but Bungie will neither deny nor confirm it.:fuzwink:

I was able to see about forty seconds of new footage recently, I got a download before the site was taken down but I do have a screenshot to show part of what I'm talking about. It shows MC inside a structure similar to some of the ones in halo 1. He cracks a jackal in the back with just a single smg, not the double. Then a door opens up, and a bunch of grunts and jackals come running out. He lobs a frag grenade and they go flying from the explosion, as well as some objects that were standing, are shattered apart, and a few others go flying from the explosion. This once again shows off Halo 2's Physics engine It then cuts to a bunch of jackals and elites walking around a floating circular platform with a yellow plasma field in the center. This is supposedly a forerunner facility in the middle of a gas giant. Then the final scene is two blue standard elites walking around conversing, they appear to have a new covenant weapon, looks like a convenant type of shotgun.:fuzsmile:

i was wondering where that was from. They look like shotguns, and in the posistions they are in this would be perfect. Where did you find this new info? i was hoping we could use one smg, as having two aint my style believe it or not.

What the shit is an 'smg'?

SMG = Sub Machine Gun. an automatic weapon that is chambered to fire pistol rounds such a 9mm, .45, .44, .50AE. The most infamous smg's are the uzi and the mp5.

As long as The Pelican's in multiplayer, i don't care when it comes out.

i had an idea of a map that like 2 islands, and on each island there is a base, with a sniper tower, and two M41 LAAG's stuck on the to for defence. Each team has a pelican and has to attack the others. The pelican has a pilot, a gunner, 6 people in the back, and one person to shoot that gun in the back of it.

Actually, if you look around on HBO (both the pictures in the top left as the 117 strips), you will find out that it is probably the Gravity Gun.

Well I read the report originally on HBO, and Battle Ground Halo that it might be a covenant shotgun. I know that it could also be the gravity gun. But right now that could be any new type of covenant weapon, being we still dont have some official information as to what it is.

And Feril I found out the information from H.B.O., and several other places, I can no longer find the link to the footage, as I tried several different locations to find it in the first place.

i've seen the footage, found a french website. It's not that bad, abit short though, but its cool that you can use one smg if you want.

Oh, in other news for those who enjoy a good read, and also the Halo Book series. Halo: First Strike (Book 3) came out on Tuesday. It was written again by Eric Nylund, the Author of the Fall of Reach (Prequel to Halo).

As of right now I am trying to finish Fall of Reach (Been hard to find time to read lately) finally, and then start the Flood. Hopefully by Christmas I will be able to get First Strike and be done with the other two books.

While trying to still finish Fellowship of the Ring too.:fuzsmile:

More than one Developer with a good reputation have died from one game. So don't bet one just because it's bungie it'll be good, though I'm sure it will.

I see Bungie, and Halo 2 being like Lord of the Rings and Peter Jackson. People were afraid that ROTK might flop like other third movies, or sequels and it turned out to be from all reviews coming in so far the best of the three movies by far.

I would be completely shocked if Halo 2 were to be a big time disappointment. Knowing the way Bungie is they have a strong recipe of building on the success but not just rushing their game out to please the fans. They are taking there time and will with making sure this is one of the best gaming experiences on Xbox availble and to try and make a game that surpasses Halo 1 in every aspect.:fuzsmile:

I think a beam of some sort that turns enemys inside out would be cool, or a gun that shoots a big purple ball that teleports yourself or enemys to a ramdom point in the level.:fuzcool:
