...is the sky supposed to look like this?
|
:
Consider yourself warned. |
The sky in that Paramonia shot would probably work better if it were flat blue.
E- Actually, it works if it's meant to be overcast and/or rainy, come to think of it. |
I'm not going to be that insulting as Nepsotic, though I admit, I agree with him, I think it's an irrational (and potentially harmful if you act like that in every aspect of life) attitude.

I think with that post it's been established this thread isn't going to get any better
|
:
|
No!
Maybe a little. |
OANST you're just as bad for engaging in this gauntlet of top notch shittery! Be a real man and watch from the sidelines.
|

|
I think the sky looks more like the Slig Barracks than Paramonia but someone said it wasn't finished so whatever.
:
OANST I don't give a shit about what you think of me, you're not really in a position to judge. Calling people disgusting is really getting old, can't you come up with some new material? E: Holy shit there's been like 4 posts in the time I spent writing this. |
:
|
Yeah you can thank my phone for that. So anyway how about that sky?
|
It is quite an odd sky. Quite an odd sky, indeed.
|
I think it's the wrong color.
|
It really is, it's more of a sickly aquamarine than a nice turquois-ish blue.
|
I don't care if it's not from the original, but Paramonia would look so sick if a section of it was in the pouring rain. It would kind of add to the forest-y atmosphere
|
Yeah that would be good, actually. Like having lightning and thunder in the distance, too.
|
Did... did nobody else think to go look at the original Paramonia?
http://i.imgur.com/FGJFtev.jpg The sky is exactly the same. |
It's a little darker in the original, but then everything in the original is darker, I guess they just used a different palette or something? Different lighting? I dunno, I'm not a designer.
And before anyone says any fucking thing, I'm not suggesting this is good or bad. |
I actually think the Paramonia sky in the original looks more like the current Scrabania sky except coloured differently.
The skybox in the NNT screen shot is a lot sharper and the clouds seem to be more dense, the sky is more saturated, and there really aren't any lighter coloured clouds so it looks quite odd. Quite odd indeed. |
Good thing this is fucking Odd-world then isn't it
Anyway, I think they're doing a proper day/night cycle this time around. One must assume that this is at the height of midday. Now, you're all just distracting from the real issue at hand: Abe's bone-dry eyeballs. |
They glow in the dark and for this reason I can forgive dryballs
|
Yeah thunder sounds and lightning in the background would be epic, it would be cool to see how the weather effects Abe and other life forms, such as soaked in rain and sweating in heat.
As for the original photo, it seems more overcast and gloomy, but it's not really a big deal. The background is alive now rather than static, so that's what I'm more looking forward to than colour schemes |
Yeah that's what I was thinking, at first I was a little miffed that Paramonia was no longer the endless sea of pine trees with little rocky outcrops like in the original, but I figure that with an animate, living world now, that'd be pretty boring visually and harder to pull off without looking repetitive.
|
not real enough. make it more real. i want to die when i'm killed in-game. that would be so cool.
|
We can manage that
|
:
But who knows, we’ve only seen a couple of screenshots and the temple wasn’t always visible in the old Paramonia either. |
I'm intrigued as to how the temple will be in sight in the background like the original where after each camera pan it would appear at a different angle.
|
Original clouds looked more fluffy and white, while in the remake they look like I-don't-really-know-what
|
Perhaps we can add some sort of death clock?
But I totally agree on seeing some wet weather that makes the the inhabitants look wet or that glossy glaze effect. But then again, it didn't rain in the first one. Nor storm. Would that be straying off too far? Either way, it's a wicked idea. |
They have already strayed off with new cutscenes, which to me sounds amazing, so I don't think it would cause any harm to add more life-like effects to the game :)
|
For the record, all of your posts since the most recent fiasco, have been normal fan posts. Stuff like "Wouldn't it be cool if," or "I'd love to see." That's normal, and not unhealthy fandom. Everyone except Varrok, that is. He just told them that they made clouds wrong.
|
:
Which really, the original looks like too. |
Clouds are fucking weird just so everyone's aware
Just look at the sky some time you'll realize they never look right |
:
|
Some of them can also look explicit :P
|
It just looks more green. Forget it, I don't to get into this again, but subtle differences in colour can make a huge difference in tone. It reminds me more of the Barracks or Bonewerks which have really unnatural sickly colour schemes.
E: Fuck I missed an entire page. |
You know I can actually see where you’re coming from when you put it in those terms – it reminds me of this fantastic article about Spyro the Dragon’s color scheme.
That said, I don’t think you’re entirely correct in this case. Go to Google Images and search for “Paramonia”. You’ll notice that there are varying shades of cyan used through Paramonia and the Paramonian Temple. Some, like the screenshot I posted earlier, are duller and feel more overcast, but there are certainly others that are more vivid and closely resemble the palette in the NnT screenshot. http://i.imgur.com/nWwa78e.jpg What’s also noticeable when browsing Google Images is that Paramonia is very, very, cyan. Like seriously, that green blue is super vivid. |
