Joakim - Forever Young (Official Video) from TIGERSUSHI on Vimeo.

Ridg3 12-25-2011 04:00 PM

FINALLY.

A melodeath band that has redeemed the genre. Thank fuck because most MD bands are becoming pretty monotonous.

EDIT: I know posting that kind of comment whilst posting a cover of another song is pretty redundant but fuck it, it's a good cover.
So here's an original, if y'all bother to listen to either to them. Which I doubt :P

Mr. Bungle 12-25-2011 06:43 PM

I almost forgot how amazing this song was.

OddjobAbe 12-26-2011 09:44 AM

I've posted this before, and I'm posting it again. This is the only song I ever heard which sums up a great deal of what I've been thinking since I was about 15 in the lyrics themselves. Especially from 1:38 onwards.

Ridg3 12-26-2011 01:27 PM

I just love the drums in this song. They really are fantastic. And the lyrics; deep, dark and moody... just the way I like it.

Dynamithix 12-26-2011 02:45 PM

:)

Ridg3 12-28-2011 03:30 PM

For rap enthusiasts. Fuck me, this man is quick.

Finally, after 3 years, have I purchased Different Stars by Trespassers William.

Dreampop/shoe-gaze for anyone interested.

Ridg3 12-30-2011 07:21 AM

Ah, shoe-gaze.

It's been a long time my mellow fellow.

Phantasos 12-30-2011 07:37 AM

A bit of Slint. Mmm mm.

OddjobAbe 01-01-2012 04:31 PM

I can't believe that Motorhead Sherwood (the one who does the BRILLIANT baritone saxophone solo just after the main theme is established) died (on the 25th of December). He was fucking great.

Mr. Bungle 01-03-2012 11:29 PM

Shit quality but quality shit. Yeah.

MeechMunchie 01-04-2012 05:22 AM

And some proper, anthemic rock.

And... something else.

MA 01-04-2012 12:41 PM

quite like this.

RIght now. Everyone. Grab your nicest pair of headphones, and listen to this. It's undescribable.

Dynamithix 01-05-2012 07:03 AM

I love M83's unique style.

I'd love to hear an instrumental version of Raconte-Moi Une Histoire because I don't really like the little girl singing in it. I couldn't find Klaus I Love You on Youtube, but that's a really good one too. Both of them are from this album.

Right now. Everyone. Grab your nicest pair of headphones, and listen to this. It's undescribable.

The word is 'indescribable'. And that doesn't even rhyme.

Mr. Bungle 01-05-2012 02:28 PM

Sorry, my bad. I tend to get like that after a few joints.

But the point is, the production on the song I linked was incredible. It was like I was in a room full of people singing at me in weird rhythms.

Daxter King 01-06-2012 01:14 AM

For some reason I really don't like their single "Sail" and wrote them off until I found out that song sounds nothing like all their other ones.

OANST 01-06-2012 08:01 AM

Mr. Bungle has almost the exact same taste in music that I do.

Mr. Bungle 01-06-2012 07:25 PM

I take that as a compliment.

Have you checked out this album yet?

Phylum 01-07-2012 01:43 AM

My friend gave me Illinoise. I'm loving it.

MeechMunchie 01-07-2012 09:22 AM

Turn the volume up as high as you want, this is the most relaxing piece of chiptune I've ever heard.

Such a good album. This is my favourite track on it, by far.
Also, I bought the album Brighten the Corners by Pavement today. Haven't listened to it yet, but I have pretty high expectations. Love their first two albums.

OddjobAbe 01-08-2012 09:41 AM

I love this poem.

Dynamithix 01-08-2012 10:20 AM

I should probably get Röyksopp's newest album since I've listened to Melody AM and Junior countless times. They never get old though.

Sparks is probably one of my favourite songs of all time. I just keep listening and listening to it whenever I'm bored or I go out for a walk. It's so good, but it's also a bit depressing. Don't know why. Maybe because of the lyrics somewhat.

Maybe in a thousand years... you'll be here

Mr. Bungle 01-08-2012 12:33 PM

This album still blows my mind after hundreds of listens.

Mr. Bungle 01-10-2012 05:50 AM

Double post but too excited to give a shit.

At the Drive-in has returned. After a decade-long hiatus, one of the best rock bands of the past 20 years has come back to allow us to bask in their glory.. This is a tremendous day indeed.

http://www.sputnikmusic.com/news.php...20363#lastpost

And for you degenerates who have no idea what I'm talking about:

Dynamithix 01-10-2012 06:10 AM

I discovered a motherfucking awesome electronica artist, Yuksek. I love his stuff, especially Away From the Sea. I prefer it much more than his newer album. His stuff reminds me off Crystal Castles but much more... bizarre. I love it though.

Give the last one at least 30 seconds to start up.

STM 01-10-2012 08:46 AM

Reptile - Skrillex

t'was only a matter of time. Moar dubstep needed.

Mr. Bungle 01-10-2012 11:25 AM

Urg, no. Not really. I can't stand all this "wub-wub-wub" nonsense. It was somewhat tolerable at first, but now its totally worn out its welcome. Time for a new electronic phenomena, if you ask me.

How about... something like this:

Ahh, much better.

MA 01-10-2012 11:40 AM

Boards Of Canada are fucking great.

Nepsotic 01-10-2012 12:12 PM

please, i'm begging you guys, if you do one thing today, please watch this, at least up to 1:20, if you don't like it by then, turn it off. just so you know, its a spoof rap band, its not supposed to be meaningful or deep or whatever, just seriously, listen to the lyrics.

Dynamithix 01-10-2012 12:38 PM

I don't consider Lonely Island as a band and I've already heard that. They're more Bits and Pieces material.

Nepsotic 01-10-2012 12:40 PM

funny though, and still music.

Ridg3 01-13-2012 12:33 PM

Eluveitie has a new album coming out and I'm excited for it.

MeechMunchie 01-14-2012 11:38 AM

Yay, I actually recognise most of the songs in this one.

Which means that this is 'my generation's music'. Oh dear.

Also

STM 01-14-2012 06:13 PM

Now then, first time I heard this song I detested it with a passion but it's hilarious to work out to so while I do weights I put it on. Pretty motivational.

=D
