Dear Fans of Oddworld Welcome to Oddworld 2.0. As always, we wanted to thank you for your continued support of our franchises. The launch of our new site was designed with our fans in mind. You will be able to have a voice and we will be listening to your feedback. I am head of marketing at Oddworld and have been here a little over a year. I have been a fan of Oddworld since the games first came out on PS1 however I was in college at the time. So as a fan, it is an honor to work here and be a part of the next generation of things to come. Over the last few years we have taken a new approach to creating products and franchises. Under the radar we have dipped our toe into opportunities in other media. We have ventured into feature films, explored television and looked into the online space. What we have learned in the last few years has inspired us to move in directions that puts us closer to you, our fans and also pushed us in areas we never thought we would explore. As we have been fortunate enough to retain the rights to all our franchises, we have recently been relaunching them onto different distribution networks and platforms and will continue to do so. We have been gathering the data from the current distribution channels and are using that to facilitate the best way to develop new products in the world of Web 3.0. The business models around traditional games are broken. We are looking at new business models, leaner production pipelines, and an ability to adapt to user feedback and market conditions more efficiently. With that in mind, we have currently been looking at social networks, games and online media in new and inovative ways. Our time over the last eight months Lorne has been focused on establishing a new company Oddmobb. This company will be focused on giving fans the ability to communicate and experience the web in an entirely new way. It will also power some of the new projects we will be building at Oddworld. Sign up to hear more about what is on the horizon and also have the chance to be a beta tester for Oddmobb. Thanks again for all your support and stay tuned, The Native |
They should get a forum on there.
|
They should make an oficial forum out of oddworldforums.net
|
That would be good!
|
They fixed the copyright bit.
|
That means they're modyfiing the site on the go, good.
|
Maybe they are reading this right now...
|
And in the oddbox section, they confused abe with munch:P

|
I bet if you hadn't of said about that they woudn't of noticed.
^ Edit: Nobod did notice!!! >:) |
Hehe, I just found they copied all of game desriptions from the old site :)
|
I thought I'd read that Abe's Oddysee description somewhere.
|
Something is wrong with the game details of AO, AE and MO. It is fitting for AO, but it's the same at the rest.
Actually, you can play AO and AE with 2 players too. And where's the damn link to http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/oddworld/ All in all a good start to go with, but I kinda miss the dark nature of the old website. Me loves darkness. |
You is goth?
|
There's something about the new site that reminds me of Xbox.com. But I like it. I agree that the dark purple look was cool.
|
Maybe we will ask Stewart Gilray to make us a dark theme.
@down: I just wanted to get sure that I will spell it correctly, oh, and you forgot fat font (I call that "B" like that) |
I don't think Stewart's first name is printed in an unreadably dark blue italic with an underline on his birth certificate. Please try to get his name correct.
|
I didn't think it was either, but after exhaustive research I discovered that not only is it printed in unreadable dark blue italics, but they underlined it.
|
@up Are you calling me fat? That's bold of you.

We would have to be a lot more strict about who gets to post, and join. You would have to leave, for instance.

omg just crapped myself with excitement. At long last were getting somewhere! wooooop wooooop!
Anyway .Is it just me or did anybody else nearly have a heart attack when they didn't see the "coming soon" page? |
nice. but still, i liked the old one better.
anyways, when i click on munch's oddysee i get this: RELEASE DATE: September 2001 GENRE: 2D Action/Platformer PLATFORM: PlayStation and >>>>>PC<<<< PUBLISHER: GT Interactive Software PLAYERS: 1 since when is it available for pc |
Shit. I'm excited. I swear I still saw the coming soon page like an hour ago.
|
Fluid, I get that too.
2D Action/Platformer? Nope. Playstation? Nope. GT Interactive? Don't think so. If I remember right, the PC version of Munch's has been made, but it will be released with the OddBox. |
As I said before:
Game details on AO, AE and MO are exactly THE SAME, they belong to AO though. :
|
Er um, yer, fixing stuff :D
|
Signing up for email newsletters should probably have a disclaimer stating that you're not going to sell our details to Satan. Or something.
I'd love it if you could bring back the Universe section from the old site. Also if you could rename the news section so that I don't get confused with the original OddBlog. Other than that, it's looking pretty good. |
It looks mostly awesome - I love the clean, white look - but the buttons annoy me. The sort of... shiny, glossy... hmm, I don't like them
Other than that, I love it. +rep. |
yeah, i agree with enchilado and nate. Bring back the universe section and redesign those shiny buttons.

I thought you were able to have two players in AE.
About the date thing. 12071 That's 1.0 as well (or at least it says it is :fuzwink:). |

It's been a while since I played the PS version. |
Oddmobb is "Maintenance Mode" for too long, there's definately something going on.
|
Maintenance perhaps?
|
^^ This plus maybe the site was ready but they weren't adding to it, and now their building it up.
