Ever since OWF went down a few months ago, my images of the Abe model (that featured in the Oddworld Inhabitants: The First Ten Years art book, making it even more special now :p) and Munch head were lost. Here they are, in there 255kb glory! (Bad quality webcam, sorry)

I don't see how you're going to get that movie. The seller only accepts UK or US cash sent to him(money order in Australia), since he doesn't use paypal.

fatmanintweed 01-17-2005 11:01 AM

Sorry for being ignorant here, and I don't mean to derail the topic, but won't that be appearing on the Bonus DVD that comes when you preorder OSW? Or does that just have the FMV sequences from the previous three games?

i am going on holiday to england every year so i have pounds more than enough:p

Wil 01-17-2005 11:40 AM

Oh awesome, it gets better for me: I read it as the person only accepted Australian dollars in cash it the buyer is from the U.K. or U.S. - now I can bid and pay. Trouble is, it's up to £25 already. I don't know if I'm willing to spend that much.

Tim, the idea of eBay is that you only bid once. :p

Tim, the idea of eBay is that you only bid once. :p

but if you realy want it.....:p
thats the way i work on ebay:p
the seller says if i get it for a few more cash he will put in a dvd so i can watch it:)

EDIT : im going to school now (already too late) and euh hope nobody overbids me , maby i can use the computer on school if i ask to the teacher:p

EDIT 2 : Im on school now,
seeing i am overbid by AU $ 80!! or € 46.33
thats to much for me...

Wil 01-18-2005 10:09 AM

Sorry Tim.

Actually, I didn't overbid you, I overbid the person that overbid you. I actually sniped it, though I really didn't mean to. I was going to bid last night, but forgot. I remembered this morning, and I was already late for school, so I booted the computer quickly and found there were just 8 minutes left to bid, and it was just too tempting.

There is now a limited edition The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants book up for offer on eBay, and one very interesting item:-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...145101270&rd=1

Isn't it immense?! Just one piece of advice: DO NOT BID for this item if you want a genuine piece of Oddworld art. This Kenneth Lilly is lying; all Oddworld art is done by OWI and the job is never licensed to any other company. I'm going to contact eBay telling them this.

I'm not saying that the seller is lying about being Kenneth Lilly who worked for ReSaurus and drew this image as a concept for an Oddworld figure, but it's not official. It's fanart.

Software Bug 01-18-2005 11:23 AM

conqrats Max:p

now the seller is mailing me he can copy the box and video on DVD
NO WAY then its not official:p

Wil 01-18-2005 11:40 AM

Thanks Tim. :) It won't be official, but you would get to see the movie. :p The way oddguy described the DVD seemed to me as if the FUD scene was a separate extra, and the movie as a whole didn't exist.

Do you think it's worth me asking the seller if he'd make a DVD for me, too, so I could see it? Hmmm, I wonder if he'd be interested in supplying everyone with a copy for a price.

Except OWF does not support piracy, despite our left-wing views. Don't do pirates, kids!

Software Bug 01-18-2005 11:42 AM

he can make a dvd but i think he will ask too much ,
for the copy for me he asked 20 pounds!!!

Wil 01-18-2005 11:58 AM

Crikey, I'm not going to believe that's worth it. £32ish is alright for official merch. A birdie for a copy is well expensive. Surely rewrittable DVDs don't cost anything like that.

I'll find some way of watching it.

oddguy 01-18-2005 12:05 PM

You don't have a VHS player, Max?

Well, I am glad someone from the forums won the video, since it totally wasn't going to be me. I just paid the entire cost of Stranger early for my pre-order...leaving me broke.

-oddguy

Xavier 01-18-2005 12:06 PM

VHS in Europe and America aren't exactly the same format, thus he can't read it on his vhs player

Software Bug 01-18-2005 09:03 PM

but is DVD the same format?? so i can watch it like he said,
Bechause games are on DVDs and there is PAL and NTSC

Wil 01-18-2005 10:58 PM

If the seller was aware that you live in a PAL region where you wouldn't have easy access to an NTSC VHS player, then when he offered you the DVD saying you could watch it, he probably knew you could watch it, i.e. he could be burning region-free DVDs. Why not ask him?

There's a leaked version of Oddworld Stranger's Wrath on eBay.co.uk. How sickening is that? Profiting from an illegal version of the game.

Fuzzle Guy 01-19-2005 10:20 AM

Mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my Odd! Look what they're selling!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...146886065&rd=1

Software Bug 01-19-2005 10:22 AM

whats special about this you can buy around 500 more of these on ballistic:p

Wil 01-19-2005 10:26 AM

Seen it, and posted about it. I'll merge this with the BUY thread.

What is worse is that they were selling a pirated Stranger's Wrath on ebay.co.uk, but I think I've already posted about that, too.

Fuzzle Guy 01-19-2005 10:26 AM

It's not that it's special, well the book is, but so cheap, such a good book, limited edition, and it's on Ebay already.

Woo hooo! see ya on Ebay! lol

Leto 01-19-2005 07:53 PM

:

That is quite horrible. WHy would anyone purchase that when the un-pirated version is coming out in a week? When the seller sends the game, it would probably take a week to ship. So whats the point?

Wil 01-19-2005 10:47 PM

Oh my God!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...162528536&rd=1

eBay actually allowed the auction to complete! Well, they've just broken the law.

Software Bug 01-20-2005 07:47 AM

it isnt on it anymore.
what was it??
