Hey guys just signed up to help with this and had an idea about the gibberish morse code; could it be deciphered with a keyword? Or would that be too straightforward?
|
After all they hinted that "you" might be the key.
|
Wondering if we could use 'you' as a key for the cipher? A three letter word from which to find other letters? I dunno, I'm not much help at this sort of thing.
|
I'm not convinced we've transcribed the morse code perfectly so, just in case, I'll occupy my time with what I do best; programming drums over complex, progressive metal riffs... or, in this case, morse code.
Meshuggah can be quite similar to morse code, you know? :D |
Can't wait for the cover!
|
:
Also keep in mind we haven't found a use for the 12 and 20 numbers yet. |
It is worth reversing the audio and then transcribing the Morse again because it will give a different output on non symmetrical letters.. E.G .--. will be the same both ways but morse like .--- will be altered.
|
Or just read the morse transcript you posted backwards ;)
|
After reversing the morse code I felt each individual tone sounded somewhat more complete than the original version.. I think it might be worth a shot :)
|
Managed to isolate the morse code a bit. I've figured out its 20 WPM and plays at 500 hertz. https://clyp.it/41ymleng

I'm gonna try transcribe this when I get in if someone hasn't by that time.
Also, slowed down and with the Hz change, the voices sound much more mudokon. Does anyone hear slig voices too? |
Really cool to see OWI's Twitter promoting this thread and the ARG Wikia page.
|
Alright so I've tried to put the audio file in Sonic Visualiser and I don't get anything interesting except for those weird lines but I dont think that they're very important

Just finished some isolation on the reversed version of the morse code section. Tones are audible enough! Here if anyone finds a use for it:

I might be wrong, but I think the arrows should be looked at 90 degrees to the right, so the line next to them is an underline
|
So, here I am, joining the hunt.
Maybe if it isn't Caesar code, we could try with Vigenere. |

http://www.dcode.fr/vigenere-cipher I normally use this one when it comes to vigenere, but looks like you isn't the key. Maybe I'm missing something. |
Image of spectrogram of isolated audio between 400-600hz, dots/dashes visible in spectro - I will work on decoding shortly and update this post with my attempt : https://i.imgur.com/YPyLmU2.png
Even sharper hi-res spectrogram morse isolate : https://i.imgur.com/CITtisW.png Same image as above but reversed, since it seems there is a theory that the morse is backwards in the original audio : https://i.imgur.com/ODTDeXz.png For whatever reason, code appears mainly confided to right audio channel (bottom channel in images above). Oddworld keeps advertising for the ARG on Twitter but their links to the oddworld.com/soulstorm page is different each time

I might be overthinking this but we're not getting anywhere at the moment so everything can be clue. |
Most probably not, http://ow.ly does not allow to create custom addresses.

I've tried to decode both the original and reversed morse code, and even intertwined both audios but there's definitely something more to it. |
