So basically they're the trial print run, which might be shitty quality, and any other company would throw them in the bin, but OWI decided instead to sell them at a premium cost? That's just wonderful.

It's pretty standard practice. To be honest I'd have expected Oddworld to be Hipster enough to bin them. You know, just to be different!

Corrected this for you, OWI probably had a say in this but I feel it was more BSR pushing for it.

And to be honest I was amongst the ones asking them if they would sell them at some point. So I guess it made sense for them to turn the test presses in an even more limited edition. (Supply and demand bla bla bla)

So if anyone is to blame it's us to have shown interest and be willing to pay more for it.

To add to what Xav said, there’s no way they would sell them if they were of poor quality. If there were any test prints that were of poor quality they would have been scrapped, not sold off. If they were selling bad quality prints they would need to explicitly say so.

It is, for all of us 15 Oddworld fans. But for most people they're not really interesting.

Basically, I think companies (in general, given this isn't the only time this sort of thing has happened) should be less shitty.

Just got my green record in the mail, it is so much brighter than I expected. I like the little intro written out on the inside and the print quality of the ink is nice too. As for the actual record, it sounds surprisingly good on my shitty player, idk if the record is actually really bad on a good player, but it is very enjoyable for me to listen to.

Actually according to BSR's Facebook they received tons of messages about the test pressings. And they were sold out in less than 10 minutes so obviously there was a demand.

I bet it’s some weird audiophile thing. I can’t listen to anything but the first press on my gold-plated gramophone.
