Also, if guns get banned out right the American people would finally be able to use the guns for the one thing they were meant for; defending their rights. Fucking irony right there. |
Someone started a housefire as bait for the emergency services in New York state, then gunned them down when they arrived.
|
I heard about that. What the fuck.

And that'll happen even faster if the government institutes a buyback like they did in Australia. |
They can't deport Piers Morgan. We won't have him back.
|
Obligatory. |
My opinion is that there needs to be better mental health in America. Honestly, I have no doubt there will be a lot more of these shootings [and some worse] in my lifetime.
|
I think that's a universal problem on par only with human stupidity.
|
How, uh, convincing. |
If the NRA was the NFPA, America would be on fire constantly.
|
That's stupid. We have put armed guards in schools before. You know what happened? They got shot and killed.
|
Obama's new plan to eliminate the opposition is to make the right's heads explode with completely sensible gun violence prevention proposals. If you live with any conservatives or libertarians, invest in an umbrella. Also Scotch Guard.
|
"But he'll take away our guns! It goes against the second amendment! We can't have that!"
I'll be very surprised if this is successful - Or if it'll actually do anything if it isn't blocked to hell and actually gets through. |
A ban on semi-auto rifles has been in effect before thanks to Clinton and was effectively turned back by Bush Jr. So it's not impossible.
The right to bear arms does not mean that regular citizens should be able to have any kind of weapon. There are plenty more banned weapons that citizens can not have despite the 2nd amendment. I think the plans Obama proposes are a step in the right direction, if not the situation gun possession should be in. Better monitoring when buying guns, better tracking of mentally sick people so they can not acquire guns as easily and a full ban on semi-auto rifles. It won't prevent shootings, even banning weapons all together won't prevent shootings. But it's a step in the right direction when it comes to making people realize that certain weapons shouldn't be sold as easy as a car. |
Now these political bastichs say us gamers have no credibility in the argument that games do not cause violence: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/...9c51f151000018
They are worse than the Glukkons! |

A ten year old boy and a two year old boy on Christmas Day. |
Seems like someone's been naughty this year
why can't I resist making awful inappropriate jokes?! |
I could tell you their names if it would make you feel worse about that.
|
I don't really have much to say on the matter, but this has been THE BIG THING on the news since it happened. And also it's relevant to this thread so yeah.
http://www.businessinsider.com/mark-...stimony-2013-1 http://www.businessinsider.com/repor...phoenix-2013-1 Apparently the shooter was in some kind of lawsuit with two of the people shot and the third person was some lady taking pictures who got shot in the hand. At first she thought she got hit with glass that had shattered nearby but that wasn't the case. They focused an awful lot on her hand. As far as I know they're still looking for the shooter. Really though, of course this shit is going to happen, especially in Arizona, where you can legally own a gun without having it registered. No background checks no nothing. Just gotta be 18+ and you can walk into pretty much any store here and just buy one. |

Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people.
Person + Gun = Person with gun. Removing the gun from society is less ethically problematic than removing the person. I thought of that this morning and it sounded snappier in my head. |
But if we get rid of the people, there will be no one left to make the guns.
SOUNDS MORE PRODUCTIVE TO ME |
Drop a bomb on them and remove both.
There, I've just solved every possible problem. |
I reserve the right to bear nuclear arms.
|
Let's just start ignoring America from now on. Just like we do to Africa.
|
I don't think you understand how hard it is to ignore the place you live in.
Also even if you try to ignore the States it's like that really obnoxious child that always needs to be the center of attention. You ignore it and it starts doing jumping jacks in your dinner while firing every gun it owns. |
No, it's actually pretty easy.
