It iiiis. Pretty pumped to watch season 2 later.

I've been watching pretty much nothing but Curb Your Enthusiasm the past couple of days. That show is completely brilliant, honestly unsure whether I like it more than Seinfeld. Both are pretty much comedic perfection.
I am watching Now and Then, Here and There which is an fantasy anime allegory of East African child soldiers and in particular the Lord's Resistance Army that nobody should watch, ever. Unless you're some kind of masochist or a complete moron like me.
I'm three episodes out of thirteen in and fuck fuck fuck I cant' remember the last time I found something so hard to watch. It's a masterpiece in every sense of the word but holy shit it's the most brutal relentless thing ever. It's like having your stomach punched in non-stop for twenty four minutes a pop while you're forced to watch that thing from A Clockwork Orange. Seriously. Nobody watch this masterpiece, nobody! (It does have a Godly opening though) |
Silent House is a remake of the 2010 Uruguayan film, La casa muda (The Silent House). People will tell you how amazing it is because it was done in one shot. It isn't. In both statements. This movie only uses jump scares...and bad ones at that. I...completely fell out of boredom seeing it. The story on this one, not the original, is completely broken and all over the place. It's just a mess. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but this movie is plain boring. Oh, and in the most "scary and intense" scenes, there's a "BRRR" sound. I guess in the cinema it makes you uncomfortable, but on the couch, it's just annoying. |
Been watching a lot of Peep Show lately, holy shit is that show genius. Sort of reminds me of a twisted, UK combination of Seinfeld and Trailer Park Boys in how surreal yet grounded in reality it is. Also in how it's sort of a portrayal of average life and how weirdos cope with it - Mark makes me think of a British and possibly even more neurotic George Costanza. Can't wait to watch the next few seasons.
Probably my favourite British comedy series, though I haven't seen too many. |
I watched We Need To Talk About Kevin last night. I really, really liked it.
Don't I write the best, and most comprehensive movie reviews? |
I'm convinced. I'll even watch it. Seriously.
My review would be something like: "I watched We Need To Talk About Kevin". It's a movie about people who need to talk about a guy called Kevin. (if true) |
If I didn't mention it already, I saw The Artist and really liked it.
I watched it a long time before, I absolutely love it, recommended!
Fuck me, Peep Show just keeps getting better. On series 5 now.
If you like Peep Show (and nobody doesn't) then you should watch Fresh Meat, too. It's written by the same guys who wrote Peep Show and The Inbetweeners and it's great. I started series 2 last night, I should probably watch series 1, thinking about it.
Been watching The Inbetweeners too, it's also a great show. Will check that out for sure, thanks.
I watched We Need To Talk About Kevin. It was okay, but it wasn't as good, as I expected from OANST's review. I will never believe him again
he's a lying cunt.
watch Sorority Row. it's incredibly incredible. E: been watching The Sopranos again recently. what fucking great stuff. SUPER DUPER SPOILERS for context, the 'emotional moment' (what the fuck) is because Junior is in the early stages of Alzheimer's and yet won't admit it. also being the boss (or acting boss) of a family means he's in a position where he can't admit to something like that even if he wanted to. or maybe the Alzheimer's means he really doesn't know either way. Junior was one of my fav characters in Sopranos. such a sad fucking ending. also these for the laughs: Paulie is another great character. makes me fucking laugh. this show ended too soon. and James Gandolfini (Tony) died this year. |
Rewatched Avatar: The Last Airbender to keep myself preoccupied recently. I swore I had seen the show in its entirety before, but this watch through made me realize I actually missed significant chunks from books 1 and 2.
First season good, second season great, third season swung between great and alright, ending was baaaaaaaaaaad
So baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad |
Hey. It could have been worse. It could have ended like book 1 of The Legend of Korra.
I just watched Silver Linings Playbook. It was a dumb, full of cliches movie. It won an Oscar and many other awards, probably because people love cliche american movie formula. Avoid it unless you're one of those people.
I finally sat down and watched The Big Lebowski. I enjoyed it quite a lot, it was sort of quirky and it had great characters and a funny plot.
brilliant film. the main trio couldn't be cast any better.
Yeah, The Big Lebowski is easily one of my favourite movies. Cast is perfect as MA said and it's just so absurd and hilarious all the way through.
I've been watching this canned NBC show called Watching Ellie on YouTube. Only watching it because I have a thing for Julia Louis-Dreyfus (don't judge!) and yeah she's pretty brilliant in it as usual. Was nice to see Steve Carrell in it as well playing his classic goofball role. Pretty good stuff overall, much better than Old Christine or whatever that crap was called. |
Indie Game: The Movie, by some kind of miracle, made it onto Channel 4 i.e. national television last night. I hope you tuned in, Joe.
i watched that a while back. that Phil Fish is a right muppet.
:
If it makes you feel any better, he broke his chain of abusive girlfriends and got engaged to a nice girl (whom he met through his game development work) recently.
oh good.
but is he still a cock? |
I meant Tommy Refenes. Phish only has eyes for himself.
Tommy or Fish?
Speedy shit. |
