I just hear a lot of 'SR4 is just SR3 DLC...' kinda stuff. I even heard they didn't bother creating new menu graphics.
|
The DLC stuff is a misconception people have. When SR4 was announced it was made to sound like they were taking the Enter the Dominatrix DLC and spinning it off into a full game, which wasn’t actually the case – SR4 was already in development separately, and that DLC was just rolled into it. But for a lot of people that sentiment stuck.
Both games use the same engine and have similar graphics and stuff, but that’s not enough to warrant such a comparison. I don’t know where the hell people are pulling shit about the menus though, that’s just bullshit. |

SR4 has been getting very good reviews and there are some great funny Let's Plays out there. Such as Guude and BDoubleO's LP. Although sprinting really fast makes cars sort of useless, it looks like a fun game and I will definitely get it when it becomes cheap. Lately I've been playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the Wii U, Rebelstar Tactical Command on GBA, Zafehouse Diaries, Rogue Legacy, Dishonored and Assassin's Creed Revelations (Still one of my favourite games of all time). |
Tomb Raider.
My only experience with the Tomb Raider games up to now were the PS1 ones; and I really didn't enjoy them at all. The gameplay to me didn't feel right, and was awkward to play. Looking back on them now, they have aged terribly, at least at a graphical stand point. Anyway, I got Tomb Raider when I saw it for 75% off on a random whim. I do not regret my decision. This game is wonderful. The gameplay is polished to almost perfection, it's so fun. It's also an graphical achievement. The world, the textures, the models, particles. Everything is beautiful. I was blown away by how much the game can throw at you without it losing too many frames. I'm also a sucker for water effects and by god this game has probably the best ever. My only nitpick is the quick time events. I'm not saying they are bad, I'm just not a fan of the mechanic in general, especially when it's really unneeded *CAUGH*RE5*CAUGH* |
Do you have an nvidia graphics card to run the fancy hair effects?
|
I do but I haven't tried it. I just had to turn off tessellation because the screen was flickering.
|
If I recall correctly I was able to run TressFX with an AMD card. It looks gorgeous but has a tendency to clip.
|
Tomb Raider looks fun 'n all, but I wonder why they had her moan so much.
Anyway, C&C Tiberian Sun has been officially free for 2 years, and I didn't know until now. Yay, more nostalgia. Yes it's as camp and cheesy as games got back in the late 90s, but I still love the atmosphere. Fun little RTS even if the gameplay could've done with a lot of streamlining. E: Runs seemingly okay in Win 7 by changing compatibility to Windows 98. You can change the resolution values in the "sun.ini" file to play in higher than 800x600. |
I finally installed DirectX. Some registry files were missing and when I set the correct values it installed. The new Amnesia is horrifying.
There's a lot of slowdown though, even when everything's on the lowest quality settings. What else can I do about that? |
Buy a new computer.
|
Or simply re-install your OS.
|
Or delete System32.
|
Or kill some random stranger.
|
Or get a Mac.
|
:
Also I can't reinstall me OS because I lost the disk because I'm super intelligent. On an unrelated note, you all need to play this game. It's called Super Hot and has possibly the coolest gameplay mechanic I've seen in recent years. |
Nate already posted about in other thread. Plus its only a demo.

Oh wait, I just got it. hehehee :

If someone gives me £25 for GTA V I will film myself eating cat shit. Or whatever you want me to do. I want that fucking game.
|
I reckon GTA V is the most hyped game ever. At least in recent years anyway. I literally cannot get away from it.
The problem is once it comes out to PC, the trend will be long gone and everyone will be hyped for something else. Probably Titanfall. Oh well. I'll get it when it's 75% off on Steam. Oh for fucks sake. Double Post! :fuzemb: |
Remember the Diablo 3 hype? Me neither
|
I remember once upon a time I was really hyped for Assassin's Creed when the first was about to come out and had been ultra hyped for awhile but then it came out and my dad hoarded it, saying no one else in the house was allowed to play until he platinumed it, but never platinumed it so it took until AC3 was about to come out he was finally like "YEAH SURE YOU CAN PLAY IT" but by that time I was the exact opposite of hyped so I played maybe 30 minutes of it before putting it down and never picking it back up.

But seriously, that sucked. Not really fair if you ask me. On topic; I'm still currently playing Red Dead Redemption. The release of GTAV won't stop me from going back and playing RDR for a while. |

It's Nepsotic. He watches cartoons targeted to young girls

Damnit, you're right.

Playing through Resident Evil 4 again. I haven't played any of the "true" RE games, but I can safely call this one of my favourite games of all time. It just does everything so right, and can be pretty scary at times. Mostly the hedge maze. Those fucking dogs.
|
It's definitely where the series peaked. I love that game so much.
