Red Dead Redemption. Love the freakin' game.
Just finishing up a few bounty missions in order to get 100% completion.

Darksiders 2.

I love it so far, only an hour or two in, but most everything is vastly improved from the first.

Do you get an almost Jak and Daxter feel from the first world? Anyway, yeah. Same position. I really like it so far, but am not very far into it yet.

Yeah, had the same feel in the first game when you met Ulthane too, something about those makers. I just did a sidequest without realizing it, pretty cool. Need to get back on track though and get those tears.

Jet Set Radio Future. Awesome and fun but I fucking suck at it. :(

Finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution last night. Overall a pretty enjoyable game, and the greater focus on stealth and intrigue makes for a refreshing change from the current PFS trend.

A couple of spots let the game down. The boss fights are bullshit as I said, and there are one or two areas that take a miracle or tons of luck to get past without a gunfight breaking out. But other than that, the gameplay felt solid and was challenging without feeling unfair.

I found the ending choice to be pretty interesting – you get the choice to reveal the source of the biochip attack as the Illuminati, kill everyone and let the rest of the world figure itself out, or lie in favor of either progressing augmentation technology or placing harsh restrictions on it. What’s interesting is how that choice is influenced; at the start of the game, you’re probably in favor of augs and think Taggart is a smug bastard, but by the conclusion of the story I found myself siding with him.

I sent you some crappy loot that I didn't want in Darksiders 2, Daxter. You should send me some shit you don't want too.

MeechMunchie 08-16-2012 07:16 AM

I want to see the Pestilence sequel. It'll just be withering cornfields for hours.

Nepsotic 08-16-2012 01:37 PM

The Justine scenario on Amnesia. Holy shit. After playing that I think it's drained some of my real sanity.

MeechMunchie 08-16-2012 01:38 PM

Is it you... my love?

Nepsotic 08-16-2012 01:43 PM

Don't... just don't.

MeechMunchie 08-16-2012 04:37 PM

I knew you'd come back...

dripik 08-17-2012 02:58 AM

I should get back to Amnesia too. I started playing a couple of months ago and got to the refinery bit, but then the emerging heatwave forced me to cut down on things that induce higher heart rate and heavy sweating. Amnesia had to go. But it was fun in its own manner, and very immersive.

Now, I'm playing a bit of this and that. Mostly Awesomenauts, which is great and well worth buying, and a bit of Mount&Blade Warband when I feel like facing overwhelming bandit forces with a smaller but better equipped and trained group (also with a huge battleaxe from a warhorse).

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective has kept me occupied for a good few days now, I can't keep my hands off the DS because of it. The plot is really strange and it just keeps getting better and more fascinating through out the game and it has some of the funniest/coolest character design I've seen.

Crashpunk 08-18-2012 03:36 PM

Started playing Metroid Prime 3 again and I'm determined to beat it. It's a great game. I've just destroyed a planet defence to let the Federation attack the Pirate Homeworld

Asmoden 08-19-2012 03:48 AM

Playing dead space 1.
It's a really scary and difficult game.
Having problems beating it on easy mode.

Varrok 08-19-2012 03:51 AM

I can agree that's not very easy. Only to that.

Phylum 08-19-2012 04:25 AM

Varrok's a real man.

You don't think it's scary? It's pretty creepy, but then, it's an action horror, not survival horror, and those are the scariest.

It's not very scary, that's just jumpscares, and predictable ones

Mr. Bungle 08-19-2012 01:06 PM

The original Dead Space had kind of a creepy atmosphere, but most of the scares were simple shock scares. Not enough actual horror in it, just scary-looking monsteres jumping out at you.

Fun game though, the gore is excellent.

Asmoden 08-19-2012 01:36 PM

Even better than dead space 2.

Alf Shall Rise 08-19-2012 01:41 PM

The only thing I didn't like about Dead Space was the abundance of ammunition later in the game. The beginning was creepy as hell, always having little to no ammo.

Nepsotic 08-19-2012 02:16 PM

But like I have said, it is an action horror, not a survival horror, therefore plenty of ammo is to be expected.

Alf Shall Rise 08-19-2012 02:22 PM

You got me there.

Mr. Bungle 08-19-2012 04:24 PM

Still, the "horror" element pretty much gets eliminated when you're armed to the teeth and have near-infinite ammo.

NyOe!s 08-19-2012 06:38 PM

Talking about horror and scary things how did you all find Slender? I fell of my chair.

Mr. Bungle 08-19-2012 06:39 PM

I haven't played it, but I think I will tonight. It doesn't look very scary, to be honest.

EDIT: Can't find a good download link. Dammit.

Alf Shall Rise 08-19-2012 06:47 PM

I didn't think it was that scary. The only time that I jumped was the first time I got caught by Slender Man. His model in the game looks pretty silly and I just wasn't able to take it seriously.

Universe sandbox. I set trails to objects and watch the evolution of 2000000 interacting particles.
