Natalie gets her arse out in it.

Saw Let Me In. It was pretty good, I had heard it was too similar to the original movie, but it had a couple changes that made it worth a viewing. That said, I enjoyed the pacing of Let the Right One In more, and while this one didn't have awkward CGI cats, it had three equally awkward CGI Abby scenes.

Suckerpunch.
It was ok. Some of the action bits were well done. The real stuff started poorly, but got better into the second half of the movie. While the film had it's good moments, it also had lots of bad moments. I don't understand the lack of blood. It seemed silly to try and make it child friendly given the plot. The other thing that really bothered me is that at the start it seemed like a stereotypical "blokey" action movie with dancing girls and gunplay, but soon turned into something with a message. I feel that they would have been better off following that path more rather than trying to make a movie that means something. Basically, more shooty bits and less talky bits couldn't have hurt. |
All-Star Superman. It was incredibly rushed as expected, but enjoyable. Really hard to get used to the character designs and voices though after growing up with the various DC cartoons.

New Doctor Who season, episode 1.
Wow, I'm confused. |
Source Code was as good as Moon, it's twist and resolution were its equal. Great film.

God I fucking hate Contact.

:
It was BAD. King of Canada was correct, twas a piss-shit hole of a film. |
I saw both parts of the new Doctor Who.
I like the new direction: throwing us into a big two-parter straight away. They've also split this season into two shorter seasons to be shown this year, for the expressed purpose of being able to have two explosive finales rather than just one. Which sounds good. |
Thor
Good movie, great stinger. |
Just finished RED. Was enjoyable, but lost a lot of momentum halfway through, and had an incredibly anti-climatic major character death. Definitely something I'm glad I didn't see in theaters, but made for a decent movie night.
|
Is that the Red where the old men gets revenge for his dog being killed, or Red where Bruce Willis and John Malkovich violate Morgan Freeman through the ears?
|
I thought that RED (the one with Willis, Malkovich etc.) was pretty good.

Saw Iron Man 2. Better than Iron Man.

I am ABOUT to see the new Thor Movie. :P

We'll call you back when we get a 'I am about to see' thread.

Finally got around to watching Diary of the Dead. Been putting it off for years, but considering there's a sequel too, might as well. Sadly, Romero's really lost his touch. He never really was a good filmmaker, people only ever cared about his zombie movies, but at least those were generally high quality. This though, with the filming gimmick, didn't really work too well, and most of the characters were beyond stupid or just plain jerks.
|
I liked the "filming gimmick" in Diary of The Dead, but other than that, it was bad.

I can't read that. It's mysteriously obscured by a blackened veil for which my judgment will not permit me to permeate.
|
The post credits scene for Thor was a tad more ambitious than the post credits scene for the other three.
Better? |

Still, despite that, I gave Survival of the Dead a shot. It was slightly better, thanks to being an actual movie, and the characters were generally more likable. However, it felt like a typical cheap zombie flick, not a Romero zombie flick. The eating scenes that were lacking in the previous movie were there, but not really up to similar scenes from the first three movies, and some of the characters made mindbendingly stupid choices, even for this genre. Oh, and when we first see the female lead, she's masturbating in a jeep. Real classy. |
I have challenged myself to watch every single episode of scrubs from start to finish. I think I'm in the 80s, I have 100 episodes left to go.
this isn't healthy e: i love the show though! |
I finished that marathon when I was in college. I was meant to be studying, still, it's a wonder at how I passed.
I watched Let Me In and I don't know what to make of it. I really enjoyed the film but it just seemed a bit bizarre and half the things that was in it felt like filler to me. |
Took my Mom to see Water for Elephants for Mother's day. Of course we all grumbled about how much better the book was, but the real problem was Robert Pattinson's inability to look anything other than bored. Well, that and Reese Witherspoon being way the fuck too thin for the 30's. Seeing Hans Landa in yet another creepy/bad guy role was nice, though. He plays a delightful sociopath.

I just watched Casablanca. Excellent Bogart classic!
