Been playing quite a bit. Saints Row 3 the most, the more I play the more I love and hate it. I love everything it does right, story missions, writing, and the like. I hate everything it does wrong, like every other fucking activity being a god damned escort mission. Escort missions are one of the most complained about levels in video games, right next to water levels. It baffles me how a game which does everything else so right in realizing it is a video game could make such a big fuck up. I still love the game, but not as much, but more at the same time.
Finally started Rayman as well, fucking great game. Admittedly I am not that great at 2D platformers, but the controls at times still do feel a bit sloppy. I finished the first world, think I am just going to do that and get the side stuff for last. Going through Gears 3 on insane with a friend as well, its pretty fucking brutal. Some parts get pretty cheap, but overall I still love me some Gears. Im also reminded I need to finish Deus Ex Human Revolution. |

Saints Row: The Third is another one that I want, glad to hear your input about it, it really helps. |
Don't get Deus Ex. It's a bad game and it isn't even worth buying it to try it. So it isn't.
|
Deus Ex?
Or Human Revolution? |

I am convinced Ridg3 must be making some kind of joke.
|
:
My problem with it is that I just couldn't, for the life of me, get into the game and understand why it was as good as a game as people made it out to be. I tried so very hard as well. I even played the first Deus Ex to try and get into it, but nope, wasn't for happening. I know saying that the game isn't worth buying just because I couldn't get into it can't be justified but fuck it. I said it. @MeechMunchie: I really didn't like it. |
I don't hate it as much as Ridg3, but I wasn't really a fan of it, either.
Rented saints row 3. Too soon to tell if I like it or not. The opening mission was...meh. |

Sorry, I personally loved the game so I might get a bit defensive about it. :p |
I watched the endings and thought they were shitty.
I may play the game someday, it's bound to be better. |
Finally got round to buying Portal 2 yesterday, been wanting this ever since it got released, managed to pick up the Xbox version for £1.49 :D
This game far exceeded my expectations, it feels like 2 games in one because the co-op feels like an entire new games itself. I could spend ages going on about what I love in this game but it will probably be things you have heard people say a million times before. One thing I did want to mention were a few bugs I encountered, The 2nd time I started the game up, all the graphics on the main menu were screwed up, so I ignored it and loaded my single player game, but when it loaded, it spawned me above water and I died instantly, thankfully when I respawned it was on land, then the graphics messed up when I paused the game >_< |
That's because it's the Xbox port.
|
1,50£ for Portal 2? What the fuck?
|
It's that fucking Xbox port. It's fucking cheap.
|
What's so wrong with it? When I got it for the Xbox it worked fine for me.

But I traded in Goldeneye 007 Reloaded and Triple Pack (Trials HD, Limbo and Splosion Man) and then used the points on my loyalty card. |
Super Mario 3D Land.
My god is it amazing. The graphics are up there with Mario Galaxy and the gameplay is so good. Best 3D mario game yet in my opinion. |

But to anwser, Yes it is the same 'Save the Princess' storyline. Much how like Zelda is the same and that's how I like it. Mario isn't about the story as such anyway; The charm of the games comes from the gameplay and the character and level design. Also Super Mario 3D Land is a great throwback to older Mario games, especially Super Mario Bros 3. (Which I consider the greatest Mario game ever) New SMB and Mario Galaxy did it also but more so in SM3DL. For example a Super Mario Bros. Flagpole. http://cache.kotaku.com/assets/image...e9e19f041b.jpg After every world you get a letter with a photo in the same artstyle as SMB3 :D http://stuffmideast.com/wp-content/u...main_mario.jpg This game should of been called Super Mario Bros. 3 2! |
:
I just feel that selling a game with the same story is just a kick up the ass for buying the game. But the gameplay looks very fun. I would of got it with MK7 but I had too many games to play. My next 3DS game is Resident Evil Revelations might be the only 3DS game I be getting this year. ): Make way for the PSP Vita. |
I already got Portal 2 through the holidays... :D
|

Like I said, rage quit. It just felt glitchy and forced and awkward. |
I dont say this a lot and usually I dont like it as an argument, but it sounds like you're just bad at it.
|
Out of curiosity DI, have you played Saint’s Row 2? If so, how does 3 compare? I haven’t had the chance to buy it, and honestly I’m a little apprehensive after hearing some negative opinions on it. I loved 2 though, so I kinda want to play 3 to see how it compares.

Well, it's official. Rage has the worst fucking checkpoint system. I was going through the Shrouded Bunker and at the very end, an enemy came out of nowhere and shot me and I thought it would start me from not that far away, but nope! I'm in the Wasteland, near the door to the bunker. Fuck this, I'll put this game right on the shelf and continue it some other time...
|
Yeah, Rage was a major let down. Boring game.
|
I second that.
I beat Portal 2 yesterday, goodness me what a challenge it was! I ended up resorting to Youtube 3 times on my play through :( I actually managed to defeat Wheatley by a complete accident, I was at the very end of the fight where you are lying on the floor with the portal gun in your hand, I saw the moon and I thought just for the hell of it that I would shoot the moon, I had no clue that it was how you defeat Wheatley, made me chuckle. |
