It's a telepathic tire trying to kill people? I agree with Strike Witch.

Dixanadu 04-17-2011 07:18 AM

Who cares?

If it's stupid as fuck with an antagonist that is both homocidal and a mundane object, it's worth a watch in my books.

Ridg3 04-17-2011 07:24 AM

I find you tyresome, Dix.

Dixanadu 04-17-2011 07:25 AM

I find myself wheeling in response.

JennyGenesis 04-17-2011 07:25 AM

The overall reception is mixed but we (being me and my boyfriend) found it to be an awesome movie.

Daxter King 04-17-2011 11:50 AM

I saw Take Me Home Tonight.

It was pretty bad, even for two dollars.

MeechMunchie 04-17-2011 11:53 AM

I've seen The Truman Show six times and it's still worth watching.

Sekto Springs 04-17-2011 11:58 AM

To not see something for yourself because someone else told you it's "hipster trash" is in itself a very hipster move. Why can't people just watch something without getting caught up in who else is watching it?

I enjoyed Rubber for what it was. It's in the same vein as Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

Word!

Sekto Springs 04-17-2011 12:31 PM

I love The Truman Show. But I think 20th time's the charm. I can go a long time without seeing it again.

Wings of Fire 04-17-2011 01:08 PM

I think the only movies I've come anywhere close to seeing twenty times are Princess Mononoke, Kill Bill, South Park and maybe Twelve Monkeys.

Dynamithix 04-17-2011 01:19 PM

Now that we're bragging, I've seen John Carpenter's The Thing 13 times, Shaun of The Dead 8 times and My neighbour Totoro 6 times.

Not that much, but still, those are pretty much the only movies I like to watch again and again. Oh and Scott Pilgrim, but I've only watched it 2 times till now.

JennyGenesis 04-17-2011 01:32 PM

Back To The Future and Rocky have been watched an endless amount of times by me. Rubber will now be a movie I shall be watching endlessly :D

scrabface 04-17-2011 01:34 PM

anyone seen Paul yet? I am looking forward to

Dynamithix 04-17-2011 01:41 PM

Haven't seen it, but I'm definitely going to see it when it hits cinemas here on June 1st.

But Tomatoes was godawful too.

I do like the Truman Show however.

Wings of Fire 04-18-2011 02:58 PM

I watched the first episode of A Game of Thrones. They seem to have captured the feeling from the book, which is good, but some characters aren't really how I imagined them.

Special points to Tyrion and Joffrey, who are exactly like I imagined them.

Also too much doggy position sex. I have a feeling Martin had a personal hand in directing.

Havoc 04-18-2011 04:11 PM

Now that the hype is over I might get started on Lost.

MA 04-18-2011 04:13 PM

watched The Mist. loved it. Toby Jones is so fucking awesome, and Marcia Gay Harden is so fucking scary.

Why would you bother now that you know it doesn't actually go anywhere?

That's why I said "for what it was". You don't commit to a film about a killer tire thinking it's going to be groundbreaking cinema.

Marcia Gay Harden is so fucking scary
Isn't she always?
She did a great job in Law and Order as the white supremacist witch who turned out to be a cop undercover.

I thought Rubber was going to be one of those movies that's so bad it's good (like the first Mortal Kombat movie, annihilation was not the slight bit entertaining) But we found it to be a genuinely good film. I've done a bit of snooping around and the overall opinion on Rubber is mixed. Some love it. Some hate it.

Manco 04-19-2011 10:27 AM

I found it pretty tiresome.

I haven't actually seen it, but I couldn't resist.

I guess I didn't search the thread tirelessly enough

That's what I get for treading old ground

That was a wheely big mistake

Guess I'd better start making tracks

Crashpunk 04-20-2011 10:08 AM

Has anyone seen Your Highness? because i'm thinking about going to see it and i want to know should I?

JennyGenesis 04-20-2011 10:23 AM

Can't remember where I saw it but I'm quite sure that got a bad review.

Dixanadu 04-20-2011 10:33 AM

Probably because of unnecessary use of Natalie Portman's face.
