It was funny after watching the bad ending a few times when I realised that I could understand the fuzzles. Though that wasn't nearly as much of a shock when I realised that I could understand the non-language of Pingu.

OddYouko 01-20-2008 05:13 PM

In the bad ending the Fuzzle sounds...kinda cute when it says "What goes around comes around!"

How many clips are there in MO? I know a stupid question. :dead: But I wanna watch them all.

metroixer 01-20-2008 05:25 PM

Let's see...

excluding the newspapers I would say maybe 7. That is including both good and bad endings.

I have a question, how come the fuzzles don't attack stranger when he comes in contact with them? Are they already so pissed scared of him that he knocked them out with a zap-fly? Or is there a bigger connection going on here?

Bullet Magnet 01-20-2008 06:03 PM

Fuzzles find outlaws more offensive due to their smell, and must be punished. Severely.

Just my hypothesis.

Excluding the UI cycles, gamespeak screen, credits, logos, and backstory there are 9 non‐newspaper FMVs and 17 newspaper FMVs (three of which are bad‐quarma equivalents).

Count them yourself.

Fortunately you have a way with nature and the ammo critters leave you alone.

This is also why Boombats and Riot Slugs are happy to help out, even though it leads to their being killed.

Question: what is Gabbit's singing? I know they can sing with their special and spiritual language, but have we ever listened Gabbit's "songs"?

Wil 01-21-2008 08:47 AM

It’s just their dolphin‐ or whale‐like language. The only noises we’ve heard them make are in the ‘Oddworld Intro’ (the only with the beetle) and ‘Caught!’ FMVs.

Fuzzle Guy 01-21-2008 08:57 AM

"I tried singing for them... But nobody sings back"

OT Edit: I know this isn't really the right place for this question, but I recently found a podcast link on the forums, and it was Lorne talking about why Spielberg wouldn't do good in the gaming industry etc. Unfortunately my computer crashed so it's not in my browser history. Does anyone have the link for it?

Question: where did Mudokons live before MO? I explain well my question: In AO we see some native Mudokons in Scrabania, Paramonia, Monsaic Lines and in the Temples and then in Monsaic Sanctum. In AE we some some native Mudokons in the FMV's of Necrum (freed by Abe) and in SoulStorm Brewery. But I don't think they lived where they were in that moment. I think they lived in a little house or something else. Maybe in a hut. So, where did native Mudokons live in AO and in AE?

Fuzzle Guy 01-21-2008 11:33 AM

I think maybe they moved to spooceshrub Forest on some sort of Pilgrimage to the Rasin. I mean, they all travelled to Necrum with him, so they probably travelled to see the rasin. Then, when they had made it ot the rasin, Abe was informed about Munch. The reason I think Abe was accepted into the Spooceshrub tribe (whilst in AO you have to do the whistling passwords) is because he is now a celebrity amongst Mudokons.

Zerox 01-21-2008 11:59 AM

Mudokons will (and still do) live in various places of the wilderness. They don't all live in one place, you know. It also seems doubtful that every single Mudokon in existence knows of Abe, and many in slavery would probably dislike him at being educated by the television they are offered that Abe is a terrorist.

Slaveless 01-21-2008 01:15 PM

That would make sense, but you have to remember they still had education before Abe's coming. They had the education to think their job was the best one there was, but they were pretty ready to follow Abe when he told them to follow him.

Zerox 01-22-2008 12:50 AM

I think it said something in the manual about Mudokons being gullible (or something), and will follow anyone who tells them to. Though this was in AO, before Abe was considered a world terrorist, I'm not quite sure about AE. Maybe they don't recognise Abe, or all believe the propaganda, considering he's a fellow Mudokon. We can't be quite sure at the moment.

I have thought the possiblity of Mudokons being against Abe, believing him to be a terrorist, was always an interesting prospect in the games/movies.

OddYouko 01-23-2008 07:58 AM

In AE good ending at the very end when Newscaster Slig is talking about Abe destroying Rupture Farms and Soulstorm Brewery there's this deep voice that says "I hate that guy!" who is it?

Fuzzle Guy 01-23-2008 08:02 AM

It's meant to be Director Phleg. Don't look into it. Take it as a joke.

OddYouko 01-23-2008 08:10 AM

Oh but I thought he died? Ok I'll just leave it as that then. =o

Fuzzle Guy 01-23-2008 08:19 AM

That's what I mean by don't look into it. If you start thinking "But he died" then you end up going round in circles lol.

abe is now! 01-23-2008 08:24 AM

A stupid question: how do Mudokons and all the oddworld species pee and defecate?

OddYouko 01-23-2008 08:28 AM

I'll try not to think about it a anymore. :D

What? I don't think they do...well Mudokons anyway.

Zerox 01-23-2008 08:37 AM

Mudokons at least do have a rear.

It's not exactly like OWI tried to make it obvious. Oddworld's basic anatomy is the same as Earth's, so have a little look and figure it out yourself.

Fuzzle Guy 01-23-2008 08:38 AM

But Abe has no sexual organs. How does he pee?

abe is now! 01-23-2008 08:57 AM

Sexual organs aren't penis. Maybe Abe has a penis and not sexual organs (testicles).

Fuzzle Guy 01-23-2008 09:00 AM

Maybe they just puke it up again after they've eaten it.

Wil 01-23-2008 09:02 AM

I think he has a typically male pee mechanism. Very diminished as it serves no sexual purpose, but possibly there. It’s hard to tell from the photos of his sculpture (I can’t remember whether it’s the Shifflet original or the Farzad resculpt, and either way I haven’t the chance to dig it up right now), but I remember when we first saw it we all got very giddy and excited.

Zerox 01-23-2008 09:03 AM

No, Fuzzle Guy.

The tube for urine would still be present, just not any external parts. Abe has neither. Either that or what Max suggested.

abe is now! 01-23-2008 09:09 AM

When Abe and other Mudokons drank SoulStorm Brew and the miraculous tea of Alf, they didn't puke. I think they have a digestive system, so they can pee and defecate with organs similar to ours. But they haven't sexual organs.

mudling 01-23-2008 12:07 PM

Didn't think this diserved it's own thread:
I was looking through wikipedia, trying to find out the exact spelling of Rapture farms, so I could get a pick (Turns out I spelled it right, there were just so few of them), and found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oddworld:_Abe%27s_Oddysee
Now look at the Synopisis, it calls Raptures farms, Rapturefamrs1029, WTF, does that mean there are more Rapturefarms, that they're just one in a huge chain of Rapturefarms, that Abe shut down one, and but that's only one in a million?
Or is it it's code or something, and 1029 means RaptureFarms, or is it just some mistake?

Slaveless 01-23-2008 12:39 PM

The correct spelling is Rupture Farms. If they can't spell it right, they probably don't know everything about the subject.

I have no idea if it's code or not, but there certainly are more Rupture Farms. Here's why Abe made such an impact:

Rupture Farms 1029 is the major Rupture Farms facility, and the rest are probably minor. It is the major producer of Rupture Farms goods, so when it shut down, most of the products just were cut short of, and there probably aren't enough of the goods to supply the Khanzumerz.
