IT'S FRICKIN GODZILLA

I don't give a crap about scripts, I just wanna see godzilla screwing stuff up. In a Godzilla film, I don't care about the characters, the scripts, the acting, the plot... For me, and most other people, it's about seeing the military going at Godzilla and failing miserably, meanwhile he's causing havoc and destruction.

Yeah, I can live with that, but that's a tech demo, not a film.

If they'd just called it "Warner Bros. Presents: The CGI Technology of Tomorrow", I might even go see it, but they really need to drop these pretensions of narrative. No-one's watching for the story, and they're severely hindering the production by even having one.

For me, watching a giant lizard smash stuff for an hour would get pretty dull, but a lot less dull than it would be interspersed with some wooden protaganist trying to save his daughter.

Hey, I never said I agreed with everything he said either.

Manco 12-17-2013 04:42 PM

No, I just felt like someone needed to point out the sheer absurdity of that title.

ALL MY YES

Incidentally, formaldehyde is a key metabolite that is needed for the synthesis of many compounds, including DNA. It is used up so quickly that it is almost never found in any noticeable quantity in the human body.

STM 12-18-2013 05:59 PM

I did not know that. I just think it's a great rant in general, I cannot fathom why parents would not give their children the basic vaccines at least (BSG, for instance). Supposedly we're in the midst of a sharp rise of measles in the UK as less and less parents are vaccinating their children with MMR. Now, if I had the chance to save my children from contracting a potentially fatal disease, I'd cling to that chance for dear life.

Bullet Magnet 12-18-2013 08:08 PM

Worse is that your children will be put at risk by irresponsible parents. If the vaccination should fail to take hold, your kid's immune system become compromised or have a condition that makes hir genuinely and medically ineligible for vaccination, they will depend on the immunity of others in society to form a transmission shield to keep all possible chains of infection broken. Except that its the shield that is now broken and the chains that are completing. So there is a very real possibility of the scenario in which your kid painfully battles leukaemia for years, miraculously pulls through, and then dies of a preventable disease because some dipshit parents of hir classmates decided not to vaccinate their own kids.

I wonder how many non-Lego components are in that.

Bullet Magnet 12-19-2013 11:36 PM

I wonder where they get the pieces. They aren't buying playset kits, that's for sure.

Nate 12-20-2013 03:27 AM

You can buy loose sets of specific pieces from Lego. They crowdfunded the cost.

He's not a darned lizard!

MeechMunchie 12-21-2013 08:38 PM

In America he is. Giant radioactive iguana.

Man, I don't get some of the stuff you post here. Kinda wish I did though cause it's probably pretty funny.

Wings of Fire 12-24-2013 04:51 AM

Oh I generally just post really surreal out of context bits from stuff I'm currently reading or watching that tickle my funny bone.

Context probably wouldn't have helped here though.
