Huh? I just don't think Oddworld should have multiplayer.

They shouldn't! It's silly.
I don't care as long as it's not shit.
I really hope we do co-op. I will hack Nepsotic's webcam to see the look on his face.
...as he sees you masturbating on your webcam

What is this from? |
I don't know, but it certainly isn't real, it's just different images merged.
It's a joke by a magazine. I think it was the Official PlayStation Magazine Australia.
Hah. That's pretty funny to be honest. :)
13.13.13. HELL YEAH, CAN'T WAIT.

GET HYPE
I think this was on Facebook a little while ago. |

Yes because OWI would really make Oddworld into that wouldn't they?
I thought it was a joke, but I wanted to know where it was from.

Hello everyone, I have two questions for you!
1. How did the Mudokons become slaves? In Abe's Oddysee the native Mudokons are seen chanting and display the ability to teleport and control lightning. If the Mudokons wield such power how were they enslaved in the first place? Why don't they use their abilities to escape? Is the ability to possess other beings limited to Abe, or can they all do it? 2. Who leaves meat sacks in the temples? The meat sacks are conveniently placed in the temples so that Abe can use meat to distract paramites and so on. Who maintains these meat sacks? Why don't the paramites get at them and eat all the meat? Thanks guys! |
Most muds are born into slavery. The/a mud queen Sam is held by the glukkons. I think there's a story around somewhere about mudukons slowly being brought into the industrial world and losing touch with their natural spiritualism, which is also their ability to fight back. It's not really known what powers other muds have, and bare in mind that canonically Abe only learns to posses enemies during his time outside of RF.
The meats sacks in the temples is interesting. One could argue that they were left there for any mudokon who happens to be passing through, as the temples are a spiritual breeding ground of sorts. I prefer to think that they're gameplay mechanic and leave it at that. |
:
Not all Mudokons have mystical powers. Only a small number who are in touch with the spiritual side of their being. And my assumption is that it's mostly Native Muds who have those powers; it would be difficult to be spiritual in the factories. :
Cool answers guys, thanks!
Will there be any emotional mudokons in New 'n' Tasty?
I hope not, i want it to be as close to the original as possible
I wonder if JAW/OWI have any plans to try and canonise your ability to chant pre-Big Face illumination in the remake?
They should include and additional cutscene if the player uses this ability before meeting BigFace. That cutscene would feature Abe facepalming while Bigface is trying to teach him something he already knows
I would like to see the cutscene showing how the moon was formed
I think the moon was formed many years before AO. Wasn't it the reason for the Glukkon/Mudokon rivalry?
I think, if well made, BigFace could reveal some "truth" to Abe. I don't know, the games are excellent but a bit more of story certainly wouldn't hurt them, I guess.
Maybe before Abe's meeting with Big Face he can't chant as good. And perhaps it takes him a few times before a successful possession. Over the course of the game his spiritual skills increase.
I know it's pointless making suggestions at this point, but here's hoping. |
i hope they make it so you don't have the ability to chant until a certain point, to give abe a bit more development/progression.
Yeah, let's all make the first levels of the game more frustrating than they already are, then dumb it down for the climax. Great Idea.
