PENY THEY ARE NINTENDO SIXTYFOOR GAEMS whats that BAZOOPER |
You forgot the laughing track. How else will I know when to laugh?
|
:
I loathe sitcoms that are on at the moment. Mostly american sitcoms. Stuff like The Big Band Theory, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother make me want to kill myself. |
Holy shit, that was trolling at it's worst. How did you not pick up on that?
I can't decide which is worse, Mrs Brown's Boys or The Big Bang Theory. |

I was saying the opposite. I should have said "kidding". Either way, I seriously couldn't believe you thought I was serious.

Everyone shut up please.
Try and fix my post for me. I dare you. |
i love it when WoF turns evil.
watched Me, Myself and Irene the other day, forgot how funny it is. his three sons (the black dudes) stealing a helicopter cracked me up, but i can't post videos at the minute so you'll just have to pretend to see it and then laugh. |
e: new page, oops.

Just saw 'Now You See Me'. Pretty fun movie. Much in the same area of Oceans Eleven and other heist movies with a tint of mystery and of course illusion. It's not a 'great' movie, the plot has its holes and the pace is a little fast at times (and sometimes it's too slow). But overall very enjoyable.

I've been watching House of Cards, a Netflix original. Definitely the best Netflix show I've seen to date. Arrested Development was excellent but HoC feels like it has potential to get as good as The Wire. Kevin Spacey is an amazing actor and the little Malcom In the Middleesque fourth wall breaks make me feel like he's confiding his magical Kevin Spacey political secrets directly to me. Also, every single main character type woman is absolutely gorgeous, so that's a plus.

Finally watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World tonight. I hadn't avoided seeing it before now, but I certainly hadn't gone to any length to see it. I thought the 90s video game vibe seemed a bit tacky, but I ended up really enjoying the film.
I really loved the way the story was told. There was a really strong visual aspect to everything, which I loved. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it as much if I didn't know it was a comic adaptation, but some of the ideas just translated well into film. The characters were all fantastic, and the writing for them was superb. The second half felt a bit rushed, but the ending was fleshed out enough to be satisfying. I wouldn't say it was a brilliant film, but it was a good way to kill a Sunday afternoon. I really feel like I'm part of the target audience for something like this, so I don't know if I've been objective enough here. |

I loved Scott Pilgrim. I've seen it quite a few times. Mostly - and I acknowledge that this is quite a ridiculous thing to do - since I found out that I'd be moving to Toronto myself. |
I seen Only God Forgives, and let me tell you that it had to be the worst goddamned show ever created. Now I can never picture Ryan Gosling without seeing a big, depressed looking bake anymore. Maybe it got good, but I'll never know, I had to turn it off halfway through because it just melted my mind.
What I got from it though was that Gosling's mother wanted to fuck him. |
:
Gosling's mother fucked the dead brother. Gosling then murdered their father and fled. Gosling wanted to fuck his mother, there's a scene later on where he slices open her cadaver and shoves his fingers in her like that prostitute from earlier. They murder the woman who takes care of the daughter of The Angel of Death (the cop) and then Gosling murders his cohort before he can kill the kid. Gosling gets his arms chopped off voluntarily as retribution. The end I just saw The Way Way Back. It was excellent. It did a good job of harnessing your emotions for a good payoff. Steve Carell was AMAZING as this massive asshole boyfriend. Sam Rockwell was hilarious. It came from the same people as Little Miss Sunshine, so go see it. |
I saw The World's End. It had a delayed plot "ignition", much like Hot Fuzz, and overall the vibe was that of a very long episode of Spaced. Which is good, if you like Spaced.
|
I saw The Wall, based on a Pink Floyd album. I think of it as a masterpiece. You should watch it.
|
It's pretty great, though I preferred the bits where Geldof didn't open his mouth.

Well the story develops, but at the end of the day it's a sitcom, you either like it or you don't. It's a very specific sort of humor, though.

Is it spam if I reiterate for the hundredth time I thought Shaun of the Dead was tepid horsepoop and Pegg and Frost are vastly overrated?

:
For what it's worth, though, Shaun of the Dead is my least-preferred film of the Cornetto Trilogy. |

@OANST, You should elaborate, which movie you're talking about? If Shaun of the Dead, then I think I agree. I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes, I was so bored that I stopped watching.
Happy 9000 posts anniversary, WoF! Just don't make any new posts or we'll be forced to use that lame Dragon Ball meme. |
Yup. Shaun of the Dead. Didn't like it. Then I saw some action movie set in a secretive town, and I barely remember it, and have no idea what the big secret was, even though I'm pretty sure I was forced to watch the movie twice.
|
Oh, right.
I saw Up a few days ago for the first time. Fantastic movie. I especially liked how the climactic fight managed to have some of the most beautiful parts of a very beautiful movie, in comparison to say Wall-E. Now just Ratatouille, Toy Story 3 and Brave to see before I've caught up on Pixar non-Cars movies. I'm a little reticent about Ratatouille though. The concept just doesn't really grab me. |
You’ll probably enjoy Ratatouille more then Brave. Brave was kinda “meh” to me.
|
Ratatouille was great, I haven't seen Brave so I can't comment, the concept didn't particularly excite me.
