I think in one of the secrets on the return (when you backtrack through rf) you there's a slig that if you kill a whole bunch of others drop down.
:
Edit: Can't find anything that causes a trigger when the slig dies so far. I thought a reset path object might do it but no luck :( |
Interresting...But 1st, a slig spawn, second, if he die, a new slig spawn, but if the final lever is pushed, there is no new slig.
im worng kapteeni. my idea for nurveco (enviroment how soulstorm brewberry) is soulstorm brewberry but in blue :) i will upload an example but i dont know when.

it's a mystery,
maybe it's hard coded into the game like the ground and walls? |
Hey ! It can be the Unknow : 3 Code 1 : 57 !!!
is the 57 seen in the other sligs?
:
Anyway, I'll start messing with paint.net to try and make a decent level. No GIMP this time. [EDIT] http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1339343881 Told you I would. I need to work out the collisions on the floor though, and the hoists. But that looks decent in the shot. |
:
Because clearly it does not happen with every Slig. I do have a theory for it! Maybe it's the red alarm that triggers it and not the actual death of the Slig? |
how's the red alarm triggered?
was it shooting? |
Red alarms can be triggered by gunshots, explosions, motion detectors or switches so it's possible.
OddMan, do you want peaces of level ? Background images ???
Which camera is this slig spawning in?

Can someone post the links to the tutorials on how to change cams, and edit levels?
I know they're here somewhere but they're so damn far back I can't find them anymore :S |
you right click the cam you want to change
you need a bmp to change it. |
Here we go, a entire guide on level editing, CAM editing is in there.
http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=20269 |
I remember that post, still helps making levels. Most notably Jango's RF guide. The way the Paths are organised sucks.
Ok
I've still been trying to make scenes with blender :(
Nice! Try adding the textures posted in that other thread that I used, put them on the sides on the blocks.
I can't get the sizes etc to be correct though. Things don't line up properly or the perspective looks wrong :S
Looks fine to me, just need to shrink it to the right size, and make sure that screen fits the whole game screen.
I would like to be able to set up something like this which AvengingGibbons has done.
That looks amazing. Have you tried asking him for tutorials of some kind?
Nope, might send him a PM and see what he says..
I haven't seen him on in a while, he might not reply. I have not really got any experience with blender so I just use Paint.NET and GIMP.
I think 3D stuff is easier than creating cameras from 2D sources personally. You could create a big library of 3d objects and then quickly throw some scenes together.
Plus then you can go crazy by putting stuff in the backgrounds like how in RuptureFarms P15 and Stockyards secret area backgrounds match up which gives the illusion that its all connected. |
paul, the screenshot of your scene.. I think you need to pull the camera back and adjust the field of view. Just play around with those settings and see how it goes.
I can't believe I had the patience to do that feeco scene the other year. I'm such a loser nowadays :D.. :( |
:
Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjTAVcXeQQw This guy seems to have managed it without any problems. |
:
EDIT: actually it looks okay. depends what perspective you're wanting |
i try it with 3d max but i dont have patinecee: D
:
Nice.
It'd be good if you could have a grid and when moving objects, the objects snap into place on the grid.. this is probably possible somehow.
Thats a really good idea.. a 3d wireframe grid. Get the rendering of the grid working properly and then I guess it would be easy to add geometry in.
why you dint use unreal kit edit?? taht i see.in a thread a guy give a grids in 3d to everybody make your own rupture farms
:
You'd want to be rendering the CAM inages in software like 3dsmax/blender/maya anyway, so I guess it'd be easier to just stick to one of those softwares. |
