The tour happened nearly 2 weeks ago on the day before 1.8 came out (notice that it's done in Minecraft 1.7). I've only just got around to editing and uploading the vids - We toured everybody's buildings, including yours, and they'll be featured in the later vids.

Splat 09-27-2011 12:51 PM

It happened before 1.8 was released dude. Sorry.

Crashpunk 09-29-2011 09:27 AM

Ah okay fair enough.

I've seen that someone is preparing to make a Temple of the Golden Apple...I said at the start of Exoddus that I wanted to make a Chruch thing for the Apple. Could I build it?
I was thinking something like the Chruch of the Holy Record in the Yogscast.

Please give me this one. I need something to do on the Server :(

Havoc 10-01-2011 09:24 AM

If anyone is wondering why the server is offline, I forgot to pay an invoice. Will be fixed within the hour.

Splat 10-01-2011 09:36 AM

I was gonna build a temple for the apple and potentially lead into an adventure for you people to do, starting with it. I wasn't gonna copy something from the yogscast; I was actually going to do something original.
If I wanted to see the Church of the Golden Apple, I'd just watch the video with it in. Why not do something new?

If you want to work together to come up with something new, that could be cool. I'd got as fas thinking the Apple should be in a chest in a garden on the roof, and that inside the building should be a wildly exaggerated and rather pretentious account of the exodus to Exoddus.

Hulaabeo 10-01-2011 09:02 PM

Cool videos, DH! My username is pronounced Hul-aw-bee-o

T-nex 10-01-2011 09:09 PM

You know the world is falling apart when not even Splat wants to indulge in a Yogscast reference.

Mudokon_Master 10-02-2011 12:23 AM

Do you guys use Steam to voice chat?
I'd love to participate in the next event because I'm stuck for something to do.

I also have a proposal:
I was planning to dig out a huge underground clearance for the construction of a castle. I was thinking around 30x30 blocks. But in order to do this, I'd have to dig way out in the desert. Would I be able to have someone's approval for an area I could start my project?

You mean there would be a series of signs telling the story of our exodus? Then I suppose the first thing to do would be the writing of the story itself, just to see how many signs we would need to fit into the building. Perhaps you already have something in mind about how the story should be written?

I think the world will fall appart when you stop pointing out how "overrated/hyped" Yogscast is. :P

@M_M: Currently, we're working on finishing the town hall interior. DH has a plan for rearranging the office level completely, you can contact him if you want to help out. The conference room also needs stone, in case you happen to have some in reserve. Concerning your castle idea: would it all be underground? I don't mind having a safe haven built out in the desert, somewhere farther away from Exodus (got lost out there once with Havoc, we weren't happy about it).

Mudokon_Master 10-02-2011 12:56 AM

I have a few stacks of smoothstone handy.
As for the castle, I was thinking to build it out far in the desert. I'd probably have an above-ground entrance and then a drop-off similar to the ones in the community mines. That would take you to a large underground clearance with the castle. So yes, most of it will be underground. The reason I want to build it far out in the desert is so people's personal mineshafts don't intersect with it.

enchilado 10-02-2011 02:32 AM

My mineshaft is hundreds of blocks long, but only a block wide and nearish to the bedrock so it should be fairly easy to avoid. I'll find you the relevant coordinates if you want.

Mudokon_Master 10-02-2011 02:33 AM

I should be alright if I build far enough away. But it could be handy, so I can get an idea of the direction the majority of us are digging.

Splat 10-02-2011 04:00 AM

Aim for right about smack bang in the middle of the desert. If you need help finding it, I have a map, so tell me if you see me on the server.

I have a story written for the temple. It'll probably change a little when it comes to being put on signs; I'll try it out in creative, first (soon as I can be bothered to go on and wait out the night on my creative world).

And to whoever keeps trolling in my tower, I hope your house burns down. With you inside.

Okay that sounds fine then :) Tell me when you start working on it and i'll be helping you every step of the way :)

What are you thinking of making out of?

Manco 10-02-2011 04:28 AM

So I guess the whole business with the gravel cave and the weird signs never amounted to anything, huh?

Sounds good to me! :D

Crashpunk 10-02-2011 05:56 AM

I don't think so OddHunter. Maybe we'll meet him again in Exoddus.

Havoc 10-04-2011 07:07 AM

Bukkit has been updated to Recommended Build #1240.

Should solve a few bugs here and there.

Havoc 10-05-2011 09:07 AM

The mysterious signs followed us to Exoddus. Except now we pissed off some Cthulhu feller.

Crashpunk 10-05-2011 10:05 AM

Yeah... The sign is very strange.

Anyway, as you can see in the background i've made a 2Fort Donation Fund for wool and dyes people happen to have spare.

I'm currently looking for Red Wool and Blue Wool.

Wil 10-05-2011 10:11 AM

Cthulu must by now be the most ubiquitous and mundane threat ever. Except zombies.

Anyone who lives in Fiction Land would be all like, "Oh, Cthulu again? Yawn. What's on Channel X-Factor?"

Manco 10-05-2011 11:36 AM

Wait, Cthulu? I thought the original signs referred to a plurality of creatures.

MeechMunchie 10-05-2011 12:20 PM

The signs don't claim to be written by the Lord himself. They could easily be by his devoted cultees.

Hulaabeo 10-05-2011 06:00 PM

Oh shit. Now what?

Phylum 10-05-2011 06:18 PM

Someone's just fucking with us now.

It looked like it could turn into something interesting before, but Cthulu? Just ignore them.

enchilado 10-05-2011 06:24 PM

I don't see why the crazy person worshipping Cthulhu makes this any less interesting, and there's no reason to assume these signs are written by the same person anyway.

DarkHoodness 10-05-2011 07:44 PM

(Edited since it's not worth having a nerd rage over this crap even though it does annoy the hell out of me)

I logged on about 45 minutes ago to find a large pile of lava in the middle of the river with a sign warning that "More will be coming, you have been warned". When I got rid of it, it left this hole in the water:

http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1317869035

This took me about half an hour to repair and get rid of the whirlpools, because everyone knows just how crap Minecraft's water physics are.

Listen dude: Leaving cryptic messages in people's homes and then having more signs in a cave telling a story - That was clever, and created a mystery. Leaving huge piles of lava everywhere - That's not clever or creative. That just pisses people off.

If you accidentally burn down someone's house for the sake of failing to create a mystery, what would you have achieved?

Oh and you owe Splat a large section of fence. You caught his melon farm on fire - I put it out after I logged on.

(And seriously. Cthulu? Overused cliché much?)

Phylum 10-05-2011 09:16 PM

Can't we tell who's logged on?

Mudokon_Master 10-05-2011 10:41 PM

Havoc should have the server log. We could track when and where the signs were placed and who was on at the time.
And just for personal gain: How do you actually pronounce Cthulu.

DarkHoodness 10-05-2011 11:07 PM

How this guy pronounces it, from 3:00 - Or at least that's how I've always said it too.
