For some reson my Flogging Molly vid turned into a Mumford & Sons one. No idea why. I shall rectify this with more FM.

Off I did set
On my trail of regret
Where I thought of you now
In your castle and crown
So I found me a whore
With a face just like yours
After several gallons of porter

When I awoke,
She had scarpered, I was broke
Laying cold in the bed
With a well for a head

So Death Valley Queen, go marry your King
Or an old maid you'll end up for certain

I've been listening to some 90's music and I forgot that were a few nice Finnish bands that were pretty popular in the 90's too.

Bomfunk MC's!

The metrostation the video was filmed in is literally like 500 meters away from my home, I use it almost daily.

And this was pretty popular in Finland around 2000, Mighty 44.

sup guys just posting in the music thread again

Wings of Fire 05-18-2011 09:10 PM

I love this song, and this is the most phenomenal AMV I've ever seen. From someone who hates AMVs.

Ridg3 05-20-2011 05:02 AM

This song is for Mr Bungle... notice any resembalance.

Mr. Bungle 05-20-2011 02:15 PM

Kind of, I guess. The singer sounds a bit like Devin Townsend, only higher. What in specific were you referring to?

Ridg3 05-20-2011 02:21 PM

Listen to this song then go listen to Deadhead. I thought that would have been horribly noticeable :L

Mr. Bungle 05-20-2011 02:50 PM

I don't know the song Deadhead. I still haven't heard Accelerated Evolution in full, sadly. It's definitely the next Devy record I'm buying.

Ridg3 05-20-2011 02:52 PM

You only really need to listen to the intros of both songs. And you'll fucking love AE, it's a fantastic album.

Mr. Bungle 05-20-2011 03:34 PM

Ah, I hear it now. Wonder if it was intentional.

Dynamithix 05-21-2011 01:24 PM

Benn Jordan is so tits.

Hobo 05-21-2011 02:09 PM

The Flashbulb is sick.

Mr. Bungle 05-22-2011 12:00 PM

I seriously can't stop listening to Devin Townsend lately. I've always liked him, but now I think I'm... Addicted.

HAAAAAAAA

Dynamithix 05-22-2011 01:23 PM

I love DJ Hero's soundtrack.

scrabface 05-22-2011 03:59 PM

555!

MeechMunchie 05-23-2011 07:33 AM

Bandwagoning rulz ok

Mr. Bungle 05-23-2011 01:10 PM

I'm sad to say that I was slightly disappointed by Helplessness Blues. I have listened to it three or four times, and nothing really stood out much; a lot of bland things going on, with some streaks of brilliance. Maybe I just have to listen to it more.

MeechMunchie 05-24-2011 05:22 AM

Ditto for me. For the first few listens it was dull, monotonous and one of the songs 'Wide eyed walker/Do not wander/Through the dawn' sounds like a parody.

But once you stop expecting the same sort of music from the (brilliant) first album, which was basically just Robin Pecknold saying 'Haven't I got such a nice voice', it's pretty enjoyable. It's more laid back than the first album, and you need to be more laid back to enjoy it. I agree about standout tracks though. It's more of an aural mass.

Love Sim Sala Bim though. Might try and sing it to MAH GIRRL.

EDIT: Also, I don't see why The Shrine/An Argument had to be one song. I might split them apart in iTunes.

A classic.

And it's before Meg got famous for bumming on camera!

Ridg3 05-25-2011 01:34 AM

I can still remember the days when I enjoyed pop punk. Bad times.

Now I listen to *Him!

*Capitalized to put emphasis on the fact that he is God.

Mr. Bungle 05-25-2011 10:34 AM

I like good pop-punk but not that shit. I used to like that shit. Not now.

What a coincidence, Ridg3. I listened to that album today. Along with Accelerated Evolution, and City.

Now, I'm listening to this:

He is the Yoda of metal.

Ridg3 05-25-2011 10:40 AM

Terria. Such a good album, this thread has been getting an overkill of Townsend lately... not that it's a bad thing. In fact I think it's been made a lot better because of it.

BRING IT ON!!

Dynamithix 05-25-2011 10:43 AM

*Checks the music thread*

oh hey, more devin townsend

Ridg3 05-25-2011 10:50 AM

Better than half the garbage that's spewed on here anyways. I think I remember Dubstep being posted up.

Mr. Bungle 05-25-2011 10:50 AM

RAHRAHRARAHRAHRAHRHARHARHARHAHRAHRHARHARHARHAHRAHRAHRAHRHARHARHARAHRARARA

OH

MY

FUCK

ING

GOD!!

Ridg3 05-25-2011 10:53 AM

Apparently I need to spread the love before pos-repping you again. KEEP HEVY DEVY COMING?

On a different note. Opeth are releasing a new album in September entitled Heritage, thought Bungle would be interested and Hobo already knows. Super psyched for it, Ackerfeldt is such a talented musician.

Mr. Bungle 05-25-2011 10:55 AM

Yeah, I heard about that, Ridg3.

I commented about it on another forum:

:

generic Opeth title

not a huge fan of this band; i found blackwater park and still life kinda boring in full, but they both had some excellent songs. maybe i should try them again.

i'll check this out when it comes out

oh but I loved damnation. loved it.
Anyways:

VAMPIRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Ridg3 05-25-2011 10:58 AM

You found Blackwater Park boring?! What is wrong with you, that album is a fucking masterpiece.

This song in particular is bloody fantastic.

Mr. Bungle 05-25-2011 10:59 AM

I don't know. I'll try it again some time.

I don't even remember what that one sounds like to be honest. The ones that stuck out were The Leper Affinity, Harvest, and the title track. Harvest because I knew it before the whole album.

Also, I only listened to it once... so it'll probably grow on me.

Ridg3 05-25-2011 11:06 AM

That song is the one with the thirty second acoustic finger picking intro based then slams into distorted eargasms.
