Do you mean the Steef in general as a species or Stranger in particular?

AlienMagi 09-06-2009 12:08 PM

I could not help myself not asking, if there is an oddworld game for mobile phones? I often go away from the computer and play games on my phone, so I would really like to play oddworld adventures on it if it is made for the mobile phones

Wil 09-06-2009 12:35 PM

Nope.

There is a Mega Drive emulator for Symbian phones that works amazingly well, perhaps there is a GBA emulator for them too?

EDIT: There is one, but you have tp pay for it. :(

AlexFili 09-11-2009 05:41 AM

You'd expect there to be a fan-made Oddworld mobile phone game somewhere out there. I wouldn't bother with the gameboy games much tbh.

Jordan 09-11-2009 06:30 AM

Mobile games suck so much, I would be ashamed to see an Oddworld game go on one.

moxco 09-11-2009 12:27 PM

I would think that oddworld would be the light at the end of the tunnle for mobile games.

joshkrz 09-11-2009 02:47 PM

Symbian mobile phones, especially the Nokia N series, can handle flash movies and games. I reckon this is as close as we could get at the moment, unless someone can code JAVA.

Software Bug 09-12-2009 12:15 AM

AlexFili 09-12-2009 12:46 AM

i doubt they would work, but good luck anyway

Software Bug 09-12-2009 01:17 AM

reviews say all ps1 roms have some lag but still can be enjoyed, so I think it will be great as new updates to the tool (psx4all) are bound to improve performance :)

Edit: Found this! Check it out!

AlexFili 09-12-2009 02:44 AM

Must be quite hard to control :D

NEW QUESTION!

Okay heres a tough one I've been wondering:

How does Abe blow up Sligs etc?

Explain it in detail. Physically or scientifically..

Sekto Springs 09-13-2009 06:27 PM

I don't think it really can be explained. In the early games, Abe was inexperienced with his abilities. Therefore, when Abe depossessed a slig the backlash caused it to explode. In AE and MO, it shows Abe has more control over this as he is able to depossess Scrabs and Paramites without blowing them up, as well as the ability to pilot his consciousness (ie possession orb). As the story progresses, Abe chooses to blow them up. One less Slig to worry about right?

As to the physics behind it, I don't think Lorne and crew thought that deeply about it. I think they just did it for the lulz.

He rips them apart with his psychic powerz.

Wil 09-14-2009 12:34 AM

As we all know, the soul of living creatures exist in subspace, which is a very high-pressure reality. While creatures are inhabited by their own soul, this isn't a problem, because the soul is access via a link between our world and subspace, but when a Mudokon possesses another creature, the soul is brought physically into our dimension, where it undergoes explosive decompression. Abe had the ability to put this off for long enough to do what he wanted with the Sligs' bodies (and has since learnt to withstand all that internal pressure entirely).

PalezQkkeli 09-14-2009 03:32 AM

Wow.. Guess that wasn't a tough one :D But thanks!

PalezQkkeli 09-14-2009 11:16 AM

About Blind Mudokons!

How do blind mudokons know where the opened portal is?

They seem to jump in the portal as if they could see :fuzconf:

(EDIT: Sorry for doublepost)

Wil 09-14-2009 12:13 PM

Open bird portals emit particles that can travel through the eyelids, allowing Mudokons blinded by having eyelids sewed together to see the direction and proximity of the portal.

Sekto Springs 09-14-2009 12:22 PM

Max, you're great at making shit you came up with on the fly sound genuine ;)

Wil 09-14-2009 12:33 PM

What are talking about? I totally read that in an interview.

Sekto Springs 09-14-2009 12:46 PM

Show me this interview.

Wil 09-14-2009 01:52 PM

It burnt down during the Great Fire of the Internet of 1666.

PalezQkkeli 09-15-2009 03:27 AM

Well even if Max talks shit, I'm buying it :D!

Anyone else who has better opinions, I'd like to hear them ;)

Josh 09-15-2009 08:14 AM

Max is the Prophet of the Odd.

Sekto Springs 09-17-2009 03:48 PM

Max is a master weaver of BS, but I love him anyway.
He just did what any sensible Jurassic Park fan would do, he fills in the missing pieces of the code with Frog DNA, or in this case, educated guesses.

Bullet Magnet 09-25-2009 12:09 PM
