Yeah Australia has Queer As Folk, however it's the American version not the English. I wouldn't know about homophobia, but just recently the legal age for homosexual sexual activities was put down to 16 - 16 also being the heterosexual age of consent.

Queer as Folks isn't that bad, Oz has 'better' scene then Queer as Folks, and i actually enjoy watching Oz.
