What the hell are they doing to this poor Mud?

It doesn't *really* look like a proper gas mask. Maybe they use that opening to attach a tube to the mask and pump something for that poor mud to breathe.

Or it's kind of a punishment. You make a mistake, you must wear the mask, that inhibits your oxygen intake. Remember: "Why is it so hard to breathe?"

Ohh that's a good thought - I was thinking it might be a mud in the mines wearing a mask so he doesn't breath in dust and die quicker

I think there's something behind that mud, but I'm not sure. Perhaps it's only somekind of background. It's hard to figure it out.
