Both. The first digit of the HEX code for ?????? will be the last digit needed to tag onto ABEFACE1. The most likely digit for it to be is a variation of the "501029" square top right, because of the pattern of the rest in that area.

I saw what I believe is a sideways 5 on one frame below his face, or potentially just a misleading squiggle... VLC keeps freezing when I frame step though so if anyone else wants to look through the rest go for it.

I'm still confused as to the relevance of the ?????? triangle to the puzzle. I hope they reveal it in some way, but we had ABEFACE1 and then Ed basically told us .mp4 was the way to go. Unless this video has clues to the puzzle and that's how we truly solve it?

I guess the ??? is a way of telling us that we need to find the filetype. But if it was a number after we still would have needed to know what to do with it.

It's likely to either be the release date, or maybe the Abe face reveal date? It's tricky - that GI interview that Lorne did I posted this morning, he says that they have a 2 year window for release but they can't say more than that. I do think it's quite soon for them to have a solid release date, especially after their trials and tribulations with N'n'T, but you never know.

This makes me think it would probably be the Abe Face reveal, but then I feel like that is going to be the reward for either the ARG, or 23K followers on Twitter.

I do think it means he is going to help us to know the date, rather than asking us.

Well the face reveal is when the bar fills up from enough Twitter followers, so it’s unlikely they’d be able to define a date for that. That only leaves the possibility of either the release date, or another date for something else.

Regarding the question mark, it is outside the shape and seems to form the end of the "Is Abe dead?" Section

I think you might have the answer there - the ?????? was a distraction! The true answer to the whole Witness puzzle section was within the shape and was solely ABEFACE1, so I suppose we just had to get the MP4 part. and the "15/IS ABE DEAD ??????" was probably meant to make us realise that the "?" wasn't related to ABEFACE1, and was it's own phrase.

Agreed, the Soulstorm page says they'll reveal his face with enough followers. It'd be a bit of a cop out to have some hidden extra requirement for that reveal as well. Having to solve the ARG just to get a reveal we were already promised with specific conditions would be a disservice to potentially many people who followed on twitter just to contribute towards the face reveal.

There might not be a definite release date yet, as Lorne said in the GameInformer interview, but I'm sure plenty of development work has been created by this point (case in point- the new Abe model).

I'd say it's likely we'll get a steady trickle of character revamp models for the marketing campaign- similar to what they did for Munch HD. Perhaps the ARG will reveal the updated model for another character?
