I have another easy question for you: what does one of the five mudokons say one they reach Necrun Mines? And what does the flying slig say while Abe's falling?
"We're not supposed to be here!"
"Somethin' smells!" |
:
as in the Mudokons are trespassing.
Does it mean "we shouldn't be here" or something like that?
Yeah, about the same message there.
Ok thank you guys. I asked because in the italian version there are none of these.
One thing I never really got. Why does the Mudokon Pops logo have stitches on the face? I think this might be some so of logical error within the game's own canon! #OddworldRuined
One thing I never really got. Why the childish, obviously worse, censored Mudokon Pops logo?
Because it fits in better with the rest of the "cute" food product advertisements.
It was censored for japan because a shcool kid beheaded another quite close to release and it seemd in poor taste. Then the cartoony design was included in AE probably becaus A) like with the 3 fingered Mudokons it made it easier just to have one version for Japan & everyone else and B) Lorne said he didn't really like the original design - but he tries to give his artists some freedom - and felt the new design fit better with the other advertisements. Which it does. |
One thing I never really got. Why the macabre, gruesome, obviously unappetizing, original Mudokon Pops logo?
Because Molluck needed to sell the idea to the rest of the board. The board members (including the GSG) being Glukkons, their hatred for Mudokons was well known and Molluck wanted to play that angle.
Obviously... |
Argh! Enough of this GSG! I don't wanna know111 :( damn I need this game.
:
because it doesn't make sense as an advertisement. also, why would Mudokon Pops just be heads on sticks? surely they'd use the whole carcass to make a popsicle shaped meat frozen mush snack.
Cutesy cartoon animals merrily advertising their own slaughter and consumption is the whole twisted point of those posters. If the horrible truth behind the consumer products isn't being hidden behind cheerful colors and happy mascots, then there's none of the irony or satire you'd expect from an Oddworld advert.
I think it was mentioned that Mudokons came from eggs. Do we know if they have a queen like Sligs, or do they reproduce the 'normal' way?
They have queens, yes. The Queen who birthed Abe and his buddies is called Sam who's a slave of the Glukkons.

Does anyone remember how much Abe's oddysee cost when it was first released?
I think it was either £19.99 or £29.99.
It's getting on my nerves how some people are scoffing at New n Tasty's price point, since it's "the same game" as the one on Steam that goes for £2 at the Steam sales, whilst the same people are more than happy to buy the Last of Us remastered which is literally the same game they bought last year.
In New 'N' Tasty. What are the things Abe can throw infinitely when he doesn't have anything like a bomb or rock?
They look like bottle caps to me. |
They are bottlecaps.
SoulStorm brew caps?

Something I've been wondering about is the fuzzles. Do we have any information on them (eg social interactions, breeding habits, role in Oddworld's industrial hierarchy, etc) that hasn't been shown to us in MO and SW?
They reproduce via binary fission.
:
Who knows what the glukkons' customers' idea of appetizing is?
:
I think they should burst into spores like puffball fungi.
:
I figured fuzzles might breed in a similar fashion to sea urchins. Just that their sperm is carried through the air like spores rather than by sea currents. :D
:
"Rare" is just another word for "Exclusive"!
:
Fuck yes.
In New 'N' Tasty. If I go back to a chapter to save more Mudokons and then go to a later chapter, would the Mudokons I'd just save carry over? (Eg, I went back to Free Fire Zone because I missed a secret and then went to Scrabania Temple.)
Because when I look at each Chapter, it has a percentage of how many I've saved. |

Apologies if this has already been asked, but my searches are returning nothing.
In Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus, what do the 'P' and 'C' stand for in relation to the screen numbers/identifiers? Say, 'F1P01C01', or 'MIP07C11'. I understand that the former is a reference to "Forest" aka Paramonia, and the latter is "Mines" aka Necrum Mines. P and C however... don't make sense. Section? Area? Region? Screen? Do they actually map to words beginning with their initial letter? Alcar... |
